Dewalt DCK940D2 20V Max Cordless Combo Kit

Over at HD, this Dewalt 9pc 20V Max combo kit is on sale as their Deal of the Day, for $599.

Model number: DCK940D2

This deal has come around a few times – it was $499 during 2015 and 2016 holiday season one-day deals. It is priced higher this time around, but this might be the last time it’s on sale until next November or December. Maybe it’ll be a Deal of the Day around Father’s Day? But I don’t think it was last year.

Here’s what you get for $600:

  • DCD771 Drill/Driver (Compare Price)
  • DCF885 Impact Driver (Compare Price)
  • DCS381 Reciprocating Saw
  • DCS393 Circular Saw
  • DCS355 Brushless Oscillating Multi-Tool (Compare Price)
  • DCL040 LED Worklight (Compare Price)
  • DCG412 Angle Grinder (Compare Price)
  • DCR006 Bluetooth Speaker (Compare Price)
  • DCD740 Right Angle Drill (Compare Price)
  • 2x 2.0Ah Li-ion Battery Packs
  • Standard Charger
  • Tool Bags

This combo kit doesn’t seem to have existed before the 2015 Black Friday deal of the day.

It comes with Dewalt’s typical combo kit reciprocating and circular saws, and not their more premium models.

No brushless tools here, aside from the oscillating multi-tool.

Both batteries are 2.0Ah compact packs.

It’s a great deal when at $499, but still a good deal at $599. This is a good kit to buy when you want to jump head-first into a cordless power tool platform and plan to use most of the tools, with the others being “good to have.” If you plan on shelving at least half the tools, you’d probably be better off with a different combo kit.

Buy Now(via Home Depot)

Please don’t confuse my frankness for discouragement. If you’re going to consider plunking down $600 on a limited time cordless combo kit deal, you need to have all the info in front of you.

The fact is, it offers very good bang for the buck.

Deal is valid 3/3/17 only, while supplies last, ending at 4am ET 3/4.

not that important, but the DOTD price never seems to last until 4am EST. I’ve often mulled over buying things, to only have their price go back up to normal within the last hour of the sale. You would think it would be more exact, but no. I have screenshots somewhere, from when I sent an email to HD.

That’s alot of tools for one buy. I mean if you had to go into a new cordless system and needed use of everything – hell of a buy. Shame they don’t atleast give you a 2 port charger but I know cost wise.

Hell lose the radio crap and put another battery in there or something. would be nice, IMO.
