Hot Deal: Dewalt 20V Max Impact Driver, Drill, ToughCase Combo Kit

Dewalt DCKTS240C2 Drill Impact Tool Box Combo Kit

Over at Home Depot, their special Dewalt 20V Max combo kit, DCKTS240C2, has dropped in price to $148 as part of their pre-Black Friday sales promotion.

This kit comes with the Dewalt DCF885 inpact driver, DCD771 drill/driver (a consumerized budget model), standard charger, (2) Li-ion batteries (possibly 1.5Ah, probably 1.3Ah), and a ToughSystem tool storage case.

The kit is normally priced at $199 at Home Depot, which is the regular price of a similar kit that doesn’t come bundled with a ToughSystem tool case.

A promo email that just came in says that this deal will be valid thru 12/1/14, but it links out to a different promo, and so we don’t know when it will really end. Probably when supplies run out, which will likely happen before any official expiration date.

This is similar to Lowes’s Black Friday deal, but you get a bonus Dewalt ToughSystem tool case – here’s my review – and an extra dollar back in your wallet.

I think this a pretty good deal, as the DCF885 is priced at just $119 by itself. I don’t much care for the idea of the DCD771 holiday special drill, but $148 is still a great price for the bundle even if you toss the drill/driver into a “just in case I need it” drawer.

Thanks to Kevin for the heads-up!

Does anyone know if there are inserts for the tools or this is just a drill + driver + loose case? It this like a Bosch system where I open up the case and there’s a slick plastic insert for my tools + charger, or are the tools going to clunk around as you carry them until I make a custom Kaizen foam insert?

Yes the insert is plastic molded to specifically fit the tools – I have seen it and it works well to secure, I believe you can also remove it in the event that you want to re purpose the box. If you go to the home Depot website they have pictures of the inside of the box. I wish they had done the molding a little differently as it chews up alot of the usable space inside the box. That being said it’s a nice setup…I wish that I could buy just the insert as I have several toughsystem cases.

There is a single insert. It is removable.

Picked one up today for the case.

Batteries are still same 1.3 but you get “quick” charger dcb112, still no 101 but beats 107.

Also it comes with one belt clip…figure that one out lol. Two tools and one belt clip…wtf

Makes sense. The DCF885 impact driver usually comes with a belt clip, the DCD771 drill doesn’t.

Darn. I was hoping this kit would come with 1.5Ah batteries, but like you said at least it has a standard fast charger.

Case itself was selling point for me. After i found out liner comes out and has a weather seal i was sold. I want to get rid of all my oddball cases and have a uniform mobile storage system for things i dont use very often such as paint guns and other specially stuff.
