Dewalt DCK295L3 20V Drill 12V Screwdriver Combo

A reader wrote in with a slightly complex Dewalt 20V/12V cordless power tool deal that provides incredibly good value.

Start off with the DCK295L3 combo kit at Home Depot. It includes a 20V premium drill/driver (DCD980), 2x 3.0Ah extended-capacity 20V batteries, a 12V compact screwdriver (DCF610), a single 12V battery pack, a dual-voltage charger, and carrying bag.

With an automatic $25-off-$100 discount at checkout the combo kit drops in price to $174.

Okay, so that’s a premium heavy-duty drill and compact screwdriver plus 3x Li-ion battery packs for $174.

Dewalt 20V Brushless Impact Driver

Next, there’s the Dewalt DCF895B 20V brushless impact driver. If you want the combo kit, it’ll set you back $304 after coupon. But then with the batteries and charger from the 20V/12V combo, you don’t need the whole impact driver kit. You can pickup the bare-tool brushless impact driver for $134 after $25 instant discount at checkout.

What this all means is that you can get both the 20V/12V drill and screwdriver kit and the non-kit brushless impact driver for only a few dollars more than just the impact driver kit itself. If you buy both combos, you get the heavy duty drill/driver and 12V screwdriver practically for free.

This doesn’t help you if you want to use the 20V impact with compact batteries instead of the high-capacity ones, but that doesn’t make this any less of an incredible value.

Thanks to John for the tip!

Been looking at upgrading to the 20v/12v combo above, but the only minor things I saw about this deal were that it isn’t a 20v hammer drill & that the 3.0 ah batteries may/may not have the newer fuel gauge capability from what I could tell. Not deal breakers in either case on this combo, other than having to wait a few days for it. Didn’t see how long that deal lasts?

Adding the Dewalt brushless impact would be ideal, and through today, 12/24, Lowe’s has that impact kit for $199, with charger and two 1.5 ah fuel cell batteries at my local store. So for about another $65 or so, one can get another charger & two more 20v (1.5ah)batteries, which might be handy when adding more bare 20v tools in the near future.
