Dewalt 5 Inch Low Profile Random Orbit Sander

Dewalt recently came out with a twin version of Porter Cable’s low-profile sander. Going by specs and appearance, it looks like the two sanders are only sporting cosmetic differences. Both sanders should perform equally as well, but it looks like the Dewalt version is ever so slightly cheaper at the moment.

In the shop we use a variety of air sanders – which are smaller and better performing than electrics. On jobsites – electrics sanders are the obvious choice – but now I see that Mirka is offering a new (and also very pricey) DC-motor compact palm sander – that is being touted as an “air-sander-equivalent”

I can definitely see how air sanders can be more versatile in a shop environment. As for Mirka offering a new DC-motor compact palm sander with claims of it being air-sander equivalent, that’s news to me! Thanks for the tip!
