Both tools are what I would consider “holiday season special buys.”
The kit also comes with (2) compact battery packs (1.3Ah or 1.5Ah), a charger, and carrying bag.
The deal price is $165 for the cordless power tool kit, and a 40pc bit set that regularly sells for $20. While not the best deal we’ve seen, it’s not bad for what you get. It’s certainly a lot better than the Makita deal from the other day.

The DCD777 and DCF787 tool only are going for $70 and 80 shipped respectively, so you essentially get 2 batteries, a charger and the bit set for ~$15. Not a bad deal. I have the DCD777, and I like it significantly better than the 18v DC725 I used to use all the time.
I’m hanging on for a deal on the DCD791 and DCF887 since I need an impact driver, which is kit DCK283D2. Best price I have seen is in the $190 range. I’m hoping to see it around $150-170 on sale somewhere.

a pretty good deal when bundled like that. you can get a lot of features and the capability to do a lot of work compared to what was available just a few years ago for about the same money.

I personally would prefer my dcd791 and dcf887 with 2ah battrries but you can’t go wrong on this set if you are not necessarily pro. I picked something similar for my mother to give to her boyfriend and it works well. I got the dcd77c1 kit that included 2 batteries charger and bag for $80 on sale. Also got the dcf887 3sp impact driver bare tool off ebay for about $80.
The things I don’t personally like on the set in the op is the drill has a plastic chuck. The impact is single speed, and the batteries are 1.3ah. But the stuff works well, just not top of the line pro level.
