This Dewalt 20V Max brushless drill and impact driver combo kit, DCK283D2, is a personal favorite, and it’s on sale right now.
It comes with the Dewalt DWS791 compact brushless drill, and DCF887 3-speed impact driver, (2) 2.0Ah batteries, charger, and a tool bag.

When I ran a giveaway ~2-1/2 years ago, this kit cost me $260 plus tax. Its normal price seems to be $249 these days.
Right now, it’s on sale for $199.
To be clear, these are Dewalt’s premium compact brushless power tools, not the holiday season special-buys that have less torque, slower speeds, and are bundled with low capacity batteries.

There’s another version of the kit, DCK287D2, which comes with Dewalt’s compact brushless hammer drill, DCD796, and that kit is also $199 right now. That kit is an even better value since it’s normally priced a bit higher. Retailers are saying its “was” price is $319, and I remember seeing it at that price recently, but I believe its normal price is around $299.
$199 for the brushless drill and impact driver combo kit is really good, but it’s an even better price for the hammer drill and impact driver combo kit (if you prefer the hammer drill/driver).
If you don’t plan to do any drilling into masonry materials, the non-hammer drill/driver might be better. But if you don’t mind the slightly longer size, the hammer drilling functionality might be welcome, just in case. With the two kits being the same price, you’re not paying any more for the hammer drill/driver over the over one.

Lowe’s is offering this kit for $249 including a free bare tool (circular saw added to cart online). Seems like a better deal.
Stuart
Not anymore they’re not, at least from what I can see.

The “buy this, get that for free” promo was removed from their website, so it’s now just $249 for the kit with nothing extra.
Steve
This just isn’t true. It’s absolutely there still. Read the “product info” or add just this model to cart.
Stuart
I’m not seeing it at all.
They usually have a “select free tool” box and it’s not showing for me.”
I’ll check on other devices in a bit. Lowe’s website glitched on me yesterday, maybe this is a new issue.
Stuart
Ah, okay – I see it comes with the free circular saw. Did all the other options sell out??
Still, $199 for the kit vs. $249 for the kit and 6-1/2″ circular saw.

Completely different deal but the Bosch 12v Flexiclick is on sale again at Amazon for $119 (apply $20 coupon). I bought this last time it was on sale and highly recommend it at this price. I may be biased though as I love the Bosch 12v tools.

If you have a Farm & Fleet near you. They have the kit for $249 and a free bare tool but you also get a 10% discount for buying online and picking up in-store. $224 + free bare tool.

This is a pretty good deal, but I would recommend investing a bit more for the kit with 4ah batteries. These 2ah batteries don’t seem to last that long and will need to be changed out often if you are using this more premium drill and driver set for driving long screws into framing lumber or are using the hammer function to drill into concrete or masonry. That starts to defeat the purpose of being cordless. Just a thought, I know everyone has a certain budget. That said, I love these tools, they were the perfect upgrade from an 18V hammer drill and impact set.

I started reading this and realized that although it was an incredible deal, I already have a DWS791 drill….then I continued reading and bought the other set from Acme (no shipping or tax)!
Thanks for the heads up!

Either deal ($199 kit or $249 kit and saw) seems great, though I already have these tools. I found the Home Depot holiday combo that contained the predecessors to these tools on clearance in early 2016. DCD790, DCF886, DCL040, and small ToughSystem box for around $220 on clearance. Great tools, despite lacking selectable speeds.
The holidays are a great time for deals, but the post-holiday season is great for clearance items. YMMV, but I’ve gotten DeWalt, Ridgid, Ryobi, and Milwaukee tools for 25-75% off the Special Buy price. It takes a little patience and legwork, but can be rewarding.

FWIW, Home Depot is also running this deal now, but only on the hammer drill / driver kit (DCK287D2). The drill / driver kit (DCK283D2) is not on sale and is still $249.

CPO Outlets is running a promo for the DCK283D2 for the $199 price, but you also get a free bare tool! So essentially it’s the same promo that Lowe’s was running, but for $50 less. Seems like a good deal to me. Here’s a link: https://www.cpooutlets.com/dewalt-dck283d2-20v-max-xr-2.0-ah-cordless-lithium-ion-brushless-drill-driver-and-impact-driver-combo-kit/dewndck283d2.html

And FYI it’s not the refurbished version, the tools are new
