Dewalt DW745 10 Inch Contractor Jobsite Table Saw

Over at Amazon, this Dewalt 10″ compact jobsite table saw is on sale for $340. Most stores are selling it for $400, although shopping around I see that some other vendors have dropped it to $340-360. As far as I can tell, Amazon is the only one offering free shipping on the 45 lb saw (53 lb shipping weight).

This table saw features a 10″ blade, 15 amp 3,820 RPM motor, tool-free adjustments, rack and pinion telescoping fence, dust collection attachment, steel roll cage, and a few other handy jobsite-worthy features. Of note is the clear and unobtrusive blade guard, and the robust riving knives. Not that I drool over the saw’s design every time I see it in stores or anything!

Buy it now at Amazon – as of 11/11/10, the saw is $340 only when sold directly via Amazon, or Tool King via Amazon

We’ve been using mostly blue and some aqua colored jobsite saws – so I can’t comment on the Dewalt – although you do see a lot of them on jobsites. What I can say is that the – now industry standard riving knife – while a positive safety feature might hang up when trying to use some thin kerf blades (useful for thsese saws) . On the Bosch – we have no problem with Forrest WWII thin kerf blades – but you need to make sure the kerf of your blade is greater than the thickness of the riving knife.
