Dewalt Tool Deals of the Day at Home Depot 3-12-2018

Over at Home Depot, they’re running many Dewalt tool deals today, 3/12/2018.

Some of these are vert good deals, too. For instance, the FlexVolt brushless circular saw is at its usual street price (I checked Amazon and a 3rd party seller has it for $9 less), but you get an additional 9.0Ah FlexVolt battery pack. The same with most of the other FlexVolt kits.

I used the FlexVolt reciprocating saw a lot this past weekend, with a pruning blade to cut down large tree branches. And to think that I almost included it with my recent tool donation to the local high school. Spending more time with the saw has convinced me that I’m not quite ready to part with my test sample.

Anyway, there are a lot of FlexVolt tools on sale today, and a couple of 20V Max cordless power tool bundles.

There are quite a few Dewalt-branded work boots on sale today too, and two styles of work shoes. There are also some accessory deals and a layout tool bundle, but they’re not quite as exciting as the FlexVolt bundle deals.

The FlexVolt sliding miter saw kit, DHS790T2, is a very good price at $499. Amazon has matched this price, presumably for today only. You don’t get the AC adapter with this kit, but you could always buy it separately.

Good Monday morning deals, if you ask me.

Deals end at 3am ET 3/13/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

Isn’t that reciprocating saw the same one as this which is a little bit cheaper on Amazon? https://smile.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCS388T2-FLEXVOLT-Brushless-Reciprocating/dp/B01H9BLRN6/

The FlexVolt reciprocating saw 1-battery kit is $299 at Amazon. It’s $299 at Home Depot, PLUS you get a bonus 9.0Ah battery pack.

The one you linked to, here, is the 2x 6.0Ah battery kit, for $360. With the Home Depot deal, you get almost the same thing, but (1) battery is 9.0Ah instead of 6.0Ah, and for $60 less.

I have the Dewalt boots ( tungsten) $149 reg price…love the fit and comfort…but..the toe wore out in 2 months….but…Dewalt sent me a new pair, free. ….that’s why I love Dewalt, I’ve never had a problem with warranty issues, even 3 years later…
Flexvolt deals are good, but I have everything already…..

Pulled the trigger on the Miter Saw, I don’t think it comes with the AC Adapter but still a great price!

It doesn’t, but you can always buy it later.

I haven’t confirmed it yet, but I’ve heard that cordless performance is a little better than corded.

I had a 780 that I purchased in November, but returned it for the cordless version. I can’t tell a difference in normal cuts up to 2×6 boards so far. I did get the ac adapter and I can’t tell any differences in power between it and using batteries. I am cutting some 4×4 next weekend, so I might get a surprise, but I doubt it.

The nice part about the cordless is the blade brakes much quicker than the 780 did.

If I have one lament about purchasing the FlexVolt table saw … it’s the 8 1/2-inch blade. Not that it doesn’t do a fine enough job for my level of woodworking — it’s actually more than capable — just somewhat difficult to find in-store and when you do, it can be a touch pricey. Also, a lack of options hurts it, too. I’ve debated using a Diablo blade — though, also not readily available in-stores — but have heard that the kerf is wider than the stock option and can throw measurement off a touch. Hopefully, Milwaukee’s version offers a 10-inch blade.

You can use a 7-1/4 if you don’t need the depth of cut, opens up a huge range of blades

Really? I never thought about going smaller. May have to give it a shot. Thanks!

Yep, it’s a strange choice. I think someone (maybe Stuart?) had mentioned with it being 60v that hopefully there would be a 120v 10” version coming, and I hope the same, preferably with a primo stand. I pulled the trigger on the circular saw. I’m a stay at home dad and I have more time than money so I have to wait for sales like these.

I honestly don’t see a reason why Dewalt cannot come out with a premium rolling stand table saw that’s powered by 2x FlexVolt battery packs with an AC adapter option.

Well, aside for runtime concerns. Maybe they’re waiting for their next step-up in battery pack technology (FlexVolt 12.0Ah?).

I have been going back and forth about the getting the circular saw to replace/complement my excellent but ancient corded models. This did it.

That is the second home depot special buy for me this week, got a couple of deck boxes the other day.

Yep, Home Depot has been killing it with these special buys. Been a while since I cared to bother looking up deals, but I’ve been shopping for a new cordless outfit.

For years I’ve been using a USA made mid-80’s craftsman 7” corded circular saw my dad gave me, and it’s actually still going pretty strong, but I’d assume any lubricants in it are about shot at this point. I keep having to fix little things on it, and now that I’ve been a homeowner for long enough that I have a long list of projects to work on, I need something more.

The last project I used it on was building a shed, and I wish I’d purchased this saw instead, but I was waiting for a sale. On the other hand, it probably was the last major project my dad is going be able to help me with, so I’m kinda happy I used that old saw with him on the project. We had a lot of fun complaining about its peculiarities.

Ordered the circular saw and they sent me one without the 9.0ah battery. Called customer service and they can’t just drop ship the battery or let me return it to a store and get the saw kit and battery separate. I have to ship the saw back to them, wait until they refund my money and then call again to reorder with a verbal guarantee they’ll give me the sale price.
