Craftsman Large ToughCase Plus Versastack Compatible Power Tool Accessory Set

The search for large and medium-sized Craftsman and Dewalt ToughCase+ power tool accessory cases and sets has been on for quite some time. Aaron wrote in this morning, having found that his local Lowe’s had started carrying these products. Thank you to Aaron for the heads-up and for the photos!!

Above, his Lowe’s has Craftsman has the Craftsman 85pc bit set, and with its proper large-sized Versastack and Tstak-compatible ToughCase. I checked my closest store for this set a few weeks ago, and they had the accessories packaged in two medium-sized cases rather than one large one.

The big deal about this case is that it can connect to the top of Craftsman Versastack and Dewalt Tstak tool boxes, and server as a base for medium-sized ToughCase+ bit and blade boxes.

Dewalt ToughCase Plus Medium Bit Storage Box

They also had empty Dewalt ToughCase+ medium boxes with an accessory partition down the middle and removable dividers.

Craftsman Versastack and Dewalt ToughCase Plus Bit Storage Boxes

The larger ToughCase can connect to the top of Versastack tool boxes, and the medium ToughCases latch on top of that.

Craftsman and Dewalt ToughCase Plus Bit and Blade Storage Boxes Stacked

You can carry a stack of ToughCases by themselves as well, and the handle on the large organizer makes it easier.

Seems like an odd naming convention to make “Toughcase” a product compatible with Tstak and Versastack rather than with the Toughsystem.

ToughCase branding predates ToughSystem by years.

The large was $29 (shelf price was for a different kit) and the medium DeWalt empty case was 6.98 which shows online as the similar sized old style toughcase.

I agree with the first statement. The price listed is for the DWA70SETTWR

      https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-Tough-Grip-70-Piece-Steel-Hex-Shank-Screwdriver-Bit-Set/1000816068

But the DW2190 for $6.98 on Lowes.com is not this new parts storage case with the wrong picture.

Only a guess, but would probably put this case in the $14.00 range.

SBD and Lowe’s are doing this rollout pretty stupidly. I just bought 4 of these at the price I’m claiming. Product number on the back is DWAN2190

Some pricing jockey at Lowes must not have done their due diligence.

Maybe it’s my old eyes or perhaps a photo slightly off color but when did Craftsman start using orange as their color, I thought they used red?
They look like toys, lots of thin plastic in the areas they will likely take abuse, but at the price they sell them at I suppose they’re throw away after a weeks use anyway…Oh how the mighty have fallen. Craftsman was clearly the brand of my father and his father, not likely to be the brand of our sons and daughters…

I think it’s the picture. It does look Black & Decker orange there though.. I’m hoping they go back to the darker toned down original red myself. It just looks more grown up and serious to me. I could be in the minority but I doubt it. People have commented on the ‘toy like’ appearance of the new stuff since the launch. I mentioned before I saw a new Versastack radio and it had the darker red. It looked fantastic..

I doubt it’s actually orange color, but I wouldn’t mind, and actually appreciate a possibility to buy a whole spectrum.

I already have a black-top box (DeWALT TSTAK) and a red-top one (Craftsman VersaStack), and would really like a chance to buy a blue-top (IRWIN), orange-top (B+D), and something in green-ish hue (like Hitachi, or even Ryobi).

I went to three different Lowe’s today to try and find the Large Versastack case and none of them had it.

Only one store had the empty Dewalt medium ToughCase storage box for$7. And they only had two in stock (one after I bought one).

Re: storage cabinets. Back in early November someone posted
A coupon site for the 26 inch wide Harbor Freight General roller cabinet for
$239. Instead of the usual $319 or “sale price ” of 299 This month I received a snail mail coupon of 279.

On Saturday the 14 th of December I typed coupon code of
38863196 and the internet price of 239. still Showed up as still good.

You could not send it to the store for pickup . But they had it in stock so I took to the store and the 239 price popped up at the register. I had the snail mail coupon as backup in my pocket.

Since I bought one before I opened the box before going on line to make sure it didn’t have any dents.

Do you have a DeWalt or Lowe’s part number. Haven’t seen these in any Lowe’s or other stores.

Good job finding these! I went tonight and couldn’t find the larger case and only the two medium cases were available.

Frustrating because the website clearly shows the larger toughsystem case.

Vcg YouTube channel posted last week about the yellow large case but I can’t find it in stores or find anyone else that has it.
    Anyone seen it?
