Dewalt Tstak Tool Box Music Player

Dewalt Tstak Bluetooth Radio/Music Player: $168 via Amazon
Dewalt Tstak Bluetooth Radio/Music Player: $175 via CPO Tools

This is a fantastic jobsite/workshop Bluetooth radio. It delivers a crisp and clear output, and is one of the most well-behaved Bluetooth music streaming devices I have used so far. Definitely a solid recommendation.

I have the Craftsman version of the Bluetooth Radio and I love it and I paid over $200 for it. The Dewalt Amazon price is an excellent deal!

Make sure you add the $50 off coupon though as it shows as $216.99

As a TSTAK radio owner, whatever happened to the Toughsystem 2.0 radio? It was promoted heavily last year, then numerous issues arose with subwoofers being blown. It vanished from several retailers and hasn’t been marketed for several months. Was there a recall or what?

Sounds like a stop-ship – too many warranty returns so they stop shipping new units until it’s fixed.

Typically recalls only happen if there’s risk of injury to life, limb, or property. And usually in excess of court settlements/class actions — lawyers and accountants have complex spreadsheets detailing the exact thresholds for these situations.

Sadly, listening to Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer without bass response won’t fit into those high risk, high payout categories. So if you have one and it is failing, give their warranty/consumer assistance department a call. Or send a tweet at them, they usually listen to those. Be nice, be polite. They’re human beings too, and honey usually tastes better than vinegar.

I can only assume it’s being redesigned.

Here’s the latest update as of March 2020:

Since we last spoke, we have suspended production of the radio and are taking steps to understand what caused the quality issue. At DEWALT, we know users depend on us to deliver DEWALT Tough products and we are committed to ensuring we do that consistently.

For customers who want to return the radio, they can do so at the retailer where it was purchased or a DEWALT Service Center (locations can be found here: https://www.dewalt.com/support/find-a-service-center). As a reminder, customers can also email [email protected] for assistance.

I even had the model listed here, DWST17510 blow out on me. Clearly have not solved the subwoofer issue. Exchanged at a service center for a brand new one within a matter of seconds, so not all bad on that front.

Anyone find a better price for the 60v chainsaw than Home Depot at $229? I’ve been trying furiously for the past week plugging in the $50 dollar off coupon at various retailers without success or adding it to the cart and seeing if any sales apply. Guess it’s just one tool that is going to be excluded from all the sales and promos.

I’ve actually gone past the tipping point now where I feel like I should have bought the bundle as earlier recommended and sold off the batteries and charger I don’t need/want.

Man, Luke, I’ve been looking for you but I haven’t found anything other than $50 off the saw/blower bundle. I don’t even remember any good deals on it this fall. Maybe cyber Monday?

You are too kind, I appreciate the assist with searching! I just now this very minute received permission from the CFO to go ahead and purchase the one that’s listed from Home Depot. Gonna wait until Monday to see if there are any last minute deals to take advantage of and them I am gonna pounce. $20 off is better than nothing.

I don’t know if you have a HD card or perhaps know someone who does, but I just got a 10% coupon in the mail earlier this week. It’s good 26Nov-02Dec. And it does work on promos and sales. Saved me an additional $30 on top of some already good deals.

Good to know, I’m a rewards member or whatever but no actual credit card. I have a Lowe’s card which saves me 5%, but they don’t carry the 60v line. I will look out for a coupon from HD, may even already have one, will check my spam.

If you don’t have the HD card and are willing to get it – you get 10% off your first purchase IIRC.

How long is the starter kit deal for?

Anyone know what size bag comes with it?

The website says: “Price Valid: undefined – 02/01/2021”

But if I recall correctly inventory already runs out before the promo is set to end.

That $149 for 3 batteries is a good deal, but the $199 starter kit with 4 and 6ah batteries plus choosing the 5 ah as the free tool is the better deal currently if you’re just wanting batteries, as it is still on sale, bringing the price down to $159.

So for $10 more you get a 5 ah instead of a 2 ah and also a bag and charger.

The 12v one-hand recip is out of stock at Acme but it looks like they are still taking orders.

At CPO, they have the saw for $99 but it is not included in the free battery or tool promotion.

Still mulling over the Lowes kit. Don’t need the 12v drill but would be nice to have one to leave in the truck.

Did anyone compared this Dewalt radio with any modern rechargeable speakers like Bose soundlink or JBLs? I can’t find no comparison sound wise. I see the good reviews on it regarding sound quality as a work radio but wonder if it really better than regular speakers made for everyday use.
