Home Depot has fantastic Dewalt 20V Max cordless power tool deals for Black Friday 2022, but a couple of deals stand out as being especially good.
I already included these deals in my Home Depot Black Friday 2022 Tool Deals Guide, but now seems like a good time to discuss the Dewalt promo specifically.
There are 3 promos:

Dewalt 20V Max 2-Battery Starter Kit + 1 FREE Tool – $199
Dewalt Atomic 4-Tool Combo Kit + 1 FREE Tool – $399
Dewalt Premium Brushless 4-Tool Combo Kit + 2 FREE Tools – $599
These deals are fairly straightforward, and seasoned bargain-hunters might already be familiar with them, as Home Depot launches similar deals every year in November.
Home Depot’s free-with purchase Dewalt 20V Max cordless deals are always among the best Black Friday power tool deals, and this year is no different.
Buy this Dewalt 20V Max Starter Kit, Get 1 FREE Tool

Everyone seem to LOVE this deal every year, from beginner to Pro, and it’s easy to see why.
This deal stands out in how – unlike most cordless power tool deals deals this time of year – it does not come with a cordless drill/driver.
You buy the starter kit, which comes with a 4Ah battery, 6Ah battery, charger, and tool bag, and select your choice of FREE tool.

The freebie tool selection includes a broad range of tools and accessories, including a brushless circular saw, Bluetooth speaker, brushless angle grinder, brushless cordless router, brushless jig saw, brushless impact wrench, brushless band saw, FlexVolt 6Ah battery, and more.
This is a fantastic deal, especially when you consider that some of the free tools sell for $199 or more by themselves, without batteries or a charger.
Price: $199
Buy this Dewalt Atomic 4-Tool Cordless Combo Kit, Get 1 FREE Tool

Here, buy this Dewalt 20V Max Atomic series 4-tool cordless power tool combo kit, and you can also choose 1 FREE tool.
The kit comes with all-brushless tools – a drill/driver, impact driver, one-handed compact reciprocating saw, and oscillating multi-tool, plus 2 compact batteries (2Ah), a charger, and a carrying bag.
The freebie tool selection is similar as for the starter kit.
Price: $399
Buy this Dewalt Premium Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit, Get 2 FREE Tools

If you’re looking to get your first Dewalt 20V Max cordless power tool combo kit, or are looking to upgrade older tools, THIS is the way to go.
You get the latest Dewalt XR brushless hammer drill, the fantastic Dewalt DCF850 Atomic series brushless 3-speed impact driver, an XR brushless reciprocating saw, and the XR 3-speed brushless oscillating multi-tool.
The kit comes with 2x 4Ah batteries, a charger, and tool bag.
There’s a lot of flexibility in the freebie selection.
Go with the circular saw and angle grinder, and you have a great all-brushless 6-tool core tool combo.
Choose the cordless router and jig saw, and you have a nice combo skewed towards woodworking applications.
Or opt for the cut-off tool or band saw and the rotary hammer, and you a capable combo that can handle a range of installation tasks.
You can get a cordless combo kit for less, but not with higher-caliber tools like these – at least not that I’ve seen so far this year.
Price: $599
4 Things to Know About these Deals
1) These deals are valid throughout the holiday season and end on 1/1/2023 according to Home Depot’s website.
2) Other brands have different offers – see the link below, or our Home Depot Black Friday 2022 tool deals guide.
3) Supplies can sometimes sell out early. It looks like Home Depot has a healthy stock of all three deals right now, but the most popular free tool selections might sell out early. From what I’ve seen, inventory levels tend to drop around Black Friday, and so if you’ve got your mind set, shop earlier.
4) In previous years, I have heard from people who waited to see if a better deal would come along, only to find the free tool “backup” deal had already sold out. Keep in mind that Home Depot has a generous return policy.
Which is the Best Deal?
They’re all great deals – it depends on what you want.
I think the starter kit with a free tool is an unbeatable deal, at least if you were looking for a good bargain on any of the tools in the freebie selection.
It rarely gets better than spending about the same – or less – for the tool you want plus a starter kit with two batteries and a charger.
The 4-tool Atomic deal is a good bargain if those are the exact tools you’ve been meaning to buy – or close to it.
Personally, I think there might be better ways to spend $400 on similar or different tools, it just might require a bit of waiting and searching.
The 4-tool premium kit comes with 3 XR brushless tools and a fantastic Atomic impact, and you can add 2 premium tools on top of that.
This is the best no-compromise Dewalt cordless power tool combo kit deal I’ve seen this season so far, where you essentially get a 6-tool combo for $599. It might even be worth it if you’d pass on maybe one of the tool sin the “buy this” 4-tool combo, such as the drill or impact, although both are great compact upgrades.
Which would you pick?

I tried to get to the $599 Premium but no sense of it any combo. And I wanna buy too. I bailed. too much looking back and forth trying to figure it out. Pass. GUI isn’t my thing I guess. I bailed on Ohio too. Ohio needs an “in stock” freaking button. Don’tt care about figuring out their sorting UI is it or isn’t it. I had $650 in the Acme cart that the Red15 didn’t work. I was in early it failed, Done. Knda done with online crap-shoot and UI nightmare.Like really done.
I’m only good for homeowner/mechanic $2500-$5000 annual so pfft, but its super frustrating. and I’m tired of online retailers BS UI. Really tired.

If ToolGuyd would do a buying service, I’d go for that. I’m super rural so no way to get to a store, and I would complain about that too anyway. yikes!
I’m up for an annual fee member buy in. No returns of course. Only TG approved kit. No price protection no problem.
Stuart
I receive enough angry complaints from people who somehow think ToolGuyd is Home Depot, Lowes, or wherever they ordered tools from, and would never voluntarily subject myself to more of that kind of abuse by getting into retail.
I’m happy to provide shopping advice, however. My ability to do this 1-to-1 via email or comments tends to be compromised the closer we get to Black Friday, which is why I try to answer popular questions with posts like this one.
Jim Felt
Stuart.
You would not be Toolguyd if you dipped your toes into the sludge of “deal brokering”.
Just (continue to) say no!*
*Corny pun intended.

I always use your affiliate link whichever tool whether linked or not, just to keep the party rolling.
Stuart
Thank you, I appreciate it, but please don’t feel obligated!

Stuart –
hoping you keep shrugging off those angry complaints. Always some people who seem to enjoy tossing out complaints while the majority are glad you do what you do but don’t say it in writing every day.
Thank you for helping me every day
Stuart
Thank you, I appreciate that! You’re awesome, and ToolGuyd readers have been awesome.
I don’t take such complaints to heart, as they’re not aimed at me/ToolGuyd.
The ones I’m referring to are often from less-savvy online shoppers that don’t know how to contact their retailers’ customer service.
For instance:
I posted about new email scams a few months ago, and again recently.
Some guy posted an expletives-laced comment that I caught and deleted in the moderation panel. It was written as if they thought I was the one trying to sell them a lawnmower with 5 minutes countdown timer and $10 shipping and not allowing store pick-up.
How am I getting yelled at for trying to spread awareness of new scams?
I posted about the Woodworkers Guild of America junk mail and their unsolicited DVD “gifts”, and have received lots of angry emails and comments about this over the years. Instead of commiserating about spam mail, I’m yelled at as if I am the WWGOA with shady marketing practices.
Recently, the same person that commented about wearing down a Lowe’s manager into giving them a free headlamp prompted this post: ToolGuyd’s Newsletters Explained & the Best Option for Tool Deals.
This guy kept arguing with me via email that the weekly newsletter should include everything for the week ahead – posts that haven’t been written or published yet, and with promos not yet public or shared with me – rather than admitting they were wrong and should have signed up for the daily newsletter in the first place.
I see retail workers being treated horribly every time I visit any home center or big box store.
I wouldn’t get into retail unless I could offer exceptional customer service at the level I expect and prefer, and quite frankly I don’t have the disposition to smile as people yell at me over their own mistakes.
Joellikestools
Yeah. I am much happier not working in retail. I to try to be kind to the employees at stores, even when they make mistakes or are less informed than me. Everybody makes mistakes and retail is tough work.

Hey, how about lottery numbers since he thinks you know the future. Great attitude aba shrug off the negativity. Is laugh at how silly those complainers are.
Love the site and all the great information.
Stuart
To be honest, attitude is everything. If someone is polite, I’ll reply and point them in the right direction.
All of those misdirected emails have also shown me exactly what not to do when contacting customer service.

One thing I do is keep my wife’s negotiating under control – yes, it’s valuable (she likes to do it and is better at it than me) but sometimes she doesn’t know when to stop.
Aaron
Thank you for the heads up! I’ve been looking for a deal on the wireless router for quite some time. This was it and I pulled the trigger.
I have to say: this is a well-written article with very insightful advice. I appreciate that.
Stuart
Thank you for saying that, I appreciate it! Glad to help!
This is also why the starter kit promo is one of the best this year – a lot of people have specific tools on their long-term wishlists and shopping lists, but most holiday deals on power tools are focused on cordless drills and multi-piece combo kits.
Mike Crowley
Hi Stuart, thanks as always for the great holiday deal summaries! As for the Dealt deals, I’m a bit disappointed that the atomic tools are becoming more of the norm, whereas I prefer mostly the XR tools. I’m well stocked at primary home but looking to duplicate a few tools for mountain project home. Now need to research more to see if any of the atomics will suffice, or just buy the XRs outright. Tool buying continues to be quite the game!
Beyond the normal cordless tools, wet tile saw and 3×360 green laser next on the list. Have a great holiday season!

Home Depot also has a bundle deal( basically the starter kit plus a Flexvolt 6.0 for $199.00). Internet number 317994525
Plain+grainy
The 4ah battery appears to be different in the Flexvolt deal. One deal has a 4ah DCB240, while the other deal lists a 4ah DCB204 battery. So the starter kits are different.
Stuart
Home Depot link
That’s the same deal – the model numbers are the same for the starter kit (DCB246CK) and FlexVolt battery (DCB606). The descriptions cannot always be relied on this time of year – it looks to me that both deals come with the DCB204 battery.
Home Depot occasionally has two formats of these same deals:
i) the “buy the starter kit, get a free tool” promo such as discussed above, where the FlexVolt battery can be selected
ii) the bundle deal as you indicated
You get the same things for the same price. I would guess that they also have the bundle version to help with search results. If someone searches for the FlexVolt battery, for instance, the bundle deal comes up whereas they might otherwise ignore the starter kit + free tool version.
Basically, 20V Max starter kit + free FlexVolt battery for $199 vs. 20V max starter kit + FlexVolt battery bundle for $199.
Plain+grainy
If you look at the bundled version, under product details. It states the kit includes DCB240 battery. If someone wants the 4ah DCB240 compact battery they might try the bundled version. Unless it’s just a typo in the description.
Stuart
As I said:
1) The chance of description (and sometimes image) errors is high for promo listings like this.
2) The model numbers are clear about what you’re getting.
3) The “buy this, get that” promo includes the DCB204.
There’s a very, very small chance you’re getting the DCB240.
It might not hurt to try, as long as you’re hopeful for the DCB240 but realistically expect and can accept the DCB204.
Josh+Walters
Assuming your already in the eco system with some batteries and a Drill+Driver I think my favorite deal is the 2 battery’s and free tool. The jig saw router and mini rotohammer have been additions with some form of that deal
Chris
Dead already
Stuart
Thanks! I’ll keep watching the starter kit in case it comes back in stock again.
