Dewalt DWV012 Hepa Dust Collector

Dewalt is expanding their line of dust collectors with a new 10-gallon HEPA vacuum. Part of their Perform & Protect line of dust control and containment tools and accessories, the new vac, DWV012, sports variable speed suction and two cartridge-style filters.

The new dust collector has not yet been formally announced, but we caught it in action in a Dewalt marketing video. While demoed with what looks to be fine cement powder, the vacuum should be able to handle drywall dust, sawdust, and other fine particulates as well.

The thing about dust collectors and shop vacs in general is the poor hose management/storage accommodations. Sure the suction and db levels are getting better and batter, but I want the hose to not fall off the side every time i roll it to the next room. I want the top to be flat so I can put stuff on there…Porter Cable shop vac has a good flat top, or better yet, just try to copy the Festool vacs and make a flat top that I can put a tool box or assesory tray on top.

From experience, we all know that virtually every flat surface in the shop or job site ends up being used as a table top, work bench, saw stand, or coffee rest, even the top of the shop vac.

    just sayin.

Do you know the country of origin? I think the other Dewalt vacs are supplied by one of the European vac makers.

I recently bought a Stihl shop vac made by Nilfisk-Alto in Hungary and I’ve been happy with it. It works well , has high-quality attachments and is pretty quiet.

Works great! Suction, air flow, noise level, and maneuverability are beyond my expectations. I can completely fill the tank without losing performance, but that tends to get too heavy to empty easily. For hose storage I use the hose hook on the handle, rap the hose around the vacuum’s top, and then connect the ends of the hose to each other… seems to stay put. It also has nice hooks for a cord rap. Quality hose with affirmative “click” collar.

In response to Stephen, I found out that DeWalt’s previous vacuum(s?) were sourced from another company. Now their DWV012 was designed in the states (Maryland), and is manufactured in China. Not bad…

    Hi.

Does anyone know if this uses the Gore Cleanstream filters like the other Dewalt HEPA vacs ?

    thanks

Practically what do you think about the Dewalt vacuum and Bosch vacuum

We bought this vacuum years ago and have not really used it a whole lot. We just messaged DeWalt to see if we can obtain the filters. They no longer make the filter and have no replacement. Not a happy customer for the cost of this machine. Really a shame!
