Over at Amazon, they just kicked off a couple of miter saw deals.
This Dewalt DWS715 12″ single bevel miter saw has been discounted to $199.

(Scroll down to the BETTER deal, below!)
Over at Acme Tools, they have a new Black Friday deal on this Dewalt miter saw and heavy duty work stand combination kit.
Amazon has the miter saw by itself at $199, Acme has the miter saw, work stand, and a pair of miter saw mounting brackets for $249. If you can use the stand, this is the better buy.

WAIT. Acme is ALSO offering a $50 off $200 discount that this item is eligible for. Coupon code is DEWALT50.
That drops the price down to $199, which is what Amazon is charging for just the DWS715 miter saw by itself!!
Sale Price: $249 – $50 = $199 at checkout
Buy Now via Acme Tools – free shipping on $199+
This might be unintentional, for the specially-priced miter saw bundle to also be eligible for extra $50 off $200+ savings. So… HURRY!!
The Dewalt DWS779 is a returning “special buy”, but it looks Dewalt made some pretty big changes to it.
This new version of the DWS779, for example, is shown to have side handles. I wonder what other upgrades or changes were made to it.
Deal Price: $349
(The DWS779 is seasonally available at this price, but it’s also interesting to see that the design has been refreshed.)
This Metabo HPT 10″ miter saw might be a bit basic in appearance, but it is very highly regarded by users and ToolGuyd readers. It’s still priced at the low price of $89.

I bought the DWS 779 + miter saw stand deal during last year’s Black Friday from Lowe’s, and the DWS779 was the “upgraded” version with the side handles, so it’s been out there in the wild for awhile!

Thank you!
Your holiday guidance has been amazing. I come to miss it after Christmas.
Your doing awesome once again this year.
As a poor Chainsaw Carver in need of tools. Your guide has saved me money!!
Stuart
You are very welcome!

do we know more about the DWS779 changes? IE do those handles slide in and out and do they happen to coincide as material support? Looks like they do – I hope that not a gripy rubber on them if it does coincide as material support.
I always look at them but I also always talk myself out of one and I think this year is the year I will get a new miter. But I look real hard at the Ridgid model due to the price with shadowcutline. WHich is a feature I think I just have to have.
Kevin
Hi – I have said saw. Handles do not go in and out. They are fixed (you have to attach them when you put it together). Not a grippy plastic, the handles are lower than the cutting surface. They are strictly for ease of moving the unit.

I’ll fire off some emails and see what I can find out, but unfortunately there is little chance of finding out more, at least through official channels, until next week.

Here’s a link to the user manual if that helps:

Good deal on that 715 if you wanted the miter stand. Amazon had a ridiculous sale around labor day for 99$ for the 715 itself. So this would equate to getting the stand for 100$ and that low price for the saw if you wanted both items

Lowe’s has the DWS779 for $399 including a free heavy duty stand DWX723.

Here’s a great deal at home depot. Dewalt 10 inch single-bevel miter saw plus dwx723 full size saw stand for $229.
