Over at Amazon, they’re holding an early Holiday 2020 deal on this Dewalt 5pc oscillating multi-tool blade set, model DWA4216.
Why you want it: If you have a Dewalt corded or cordless oscillating multi-tool, these accessories allow for tool-free blade changes, due to the split-ring interface design. Some other brands also have a similar interface, and won’t work tool-free with full-ring accessories.

Dewalt makes decent power tool accessories, and their oscillating multi-tool blades tend to be well-recommended.
Is it a good deal?: The regular price looks to be $35 and up, but Amazon has it on sale for $25, saving you $10. I’d say *yes*.
What you get:
- (2) DWA4203 blades for wood cutting
- (1) DWA4206 blade for fast cuts in wood
- (1) DWA4213 blade for flush cuts
- (1) DWA4217 blade for scraping
- (1) snazzy hard-shell storage case
Sale Price: $25

Home Depot has a holiday promo that’s not active online yet, where you get a 4pc blade set and screwdriver bit set for $20. You’re not getting the same blades as here though, but it’s still an alternate to consider.

I think the $30 Milwaukee set is a better deal — 7 Made in USA (with globally sourced materials) blades, including two titanium. Plus some Made in China abrasives and a pencil case that is narrower than the ones they sell separately. I just received mine yesterday.

Do you have a link to the Milwaukee set?
Stuart
That’s also a very good deal, but it’s not available online right now, and it’s uncertain as to when it will be. I’ve been keeping an eye on it.

That’s weird, I clicked on your link and it shows I can add it to my cart. Is there a different kit that you guys are talking about? I bought the one you linked in the store today.
Stuart
The Milwaukee deal – which I had not posted about yet – is the one they’re referring to, and it’s not available yet. This post focused on the Dewalt deal, which is on sale and available at Amazon.
Diego
I get that. I’m talking about the kit Albert mentioned and then the one you linked to and said you’ve been keeping an eye on. Are they different kits? Because the one you linked to is definitely available.

I just bought the 20-piece Milwaukee Model #49-10-9130 deal for $29.99 online (or in the app) from Home Depot, I added another small item I had been wanting, and its shipping free to arrive by 5th Nov.
Big Richard
Diego is right, the Milwaukee one you linked and Albert is referring to is definitely available. It’s available online and I saw it in store yesterday.
Jonny
Chiming in that I just bought the Milwaukee deal @ $30 from your link like others are stating, thanks!
Albert
I’m not sure what the rules are about posting links, but you could search for sku 313397867 on Home Depot’s web page.

Are those compatible with the Dewalt omt?
Big Richard
Yes, they are compatible with DeWalt.
Jonny
Thanks Albert!

I searched HD and its out of stock.
That seems to be such a common thing when I go look for these good deals on their site.

I may go ahead pick up the Dewalt one just for the carrying case. I’ve been wanting to get a case for these blades that have been loose in my tool bag anyway.
Any idea how many oscillating blades will fit in that Dewalt case?
Steve
Aw man, I paid like $37 for this back in September. Good deal.
Diego
I just bought that Milwaukee kit in store today. It’s definitely a better deal than the DeWalt kit.
I was there to buy a metal cutting blade but for not much more money I got 2 of them plus all the extras.

The DWA4216 is on sale at Lowe’s too.

Stop buying multitool blades from big box stores.

I’ve seen the Home Depot flyers throughout the year. Usually just long enough to pick them up and toss in the recycling. Same with Lowes, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, and… well, everywhere that sells DeWALT.
The listed price for this kit in EVERY one of those flyers has been $10 CAD. Not $10 USD OFF, $10 CAD on sale from $19.95. I checked the Canadian site? Same kit right now? Is actually UP to $39.99 CAD, with a $5 off deal to bring it down to $34.99 CAD.
This kit has been jacked up in price, not down. I’m not trying to be negative, it’s just… I’ve rolled my eyes at this kit all year long, like it has been on clearance or something. No outlet could get it to sell.
And frankly… I OWN The DCS355… The only DeWALT OT accessory worth owning is their sanding pad. The most exciting thing about DeWALT OT blades is you can confidently say “THE QUICK CHANGE WORKS!!!” The only kinds of the DeWALT blades I haven’t tried are the circular ones. The rasps and round saws. Other than that… Genuinely not worth it. And even the ones I mention here… I’m not willing to try them, I’ve already decided the dual-interface blades from Diablo are where I’m going to invest.
I’ll echo what “The Ami” said above me here. Stop buying your blades from the box stores. There’s some seriously shady stuff going on around this “Black Friday” nonsense they’re playing us on every year.

What is a good/ fair price to pay for consumable blades (multi-tool or reciprocating)?$1? $2? I always look this time of year to stock up on blades, but I’m tired of the packages (like the Milwaukee) that over-include sandpaper.
Lately, I’ve been buying no-name blades in bulk off Amazon for around a $1 a blade.
JoeM
That works fine for blades you actually consume, like saw toothed blades. It’s an entirely different story for specialized blades, like scrapers, or specialized sanders. Knock-off saw blades you don’t have to care too much about. The only thing you have to lose is time in swapping them out.
But when the entire thing is so simple it shouldn’t fail after only a few minutes, then getting the better brands that are between $5 and $25 per blade (these are usually entire accessories at the high end there, not just a scraper, but often a specialized wire saw, or other specialized drywall knife.) is not unreasonable.
GML
I do not think the actual blades are that good or of a better quality than those you will find on ebay or Amazon. Only reason I would buy this is for the case š
JoeM
Remarkably, I’m not fond of the DeWALT OT blade containers either… They’re somehow awkward. There are some older kits where the blade compartment closed separately from the lid, and I think you can still get them direct from DeWALT Parts and Service. But, for reasons I can’t fathom, DeWALT keeps shipping their kits and tools with really awkward kit boxes.
They MAKE really nice ones, but rarely are they ever what these kits come in. I am honestly confused as to why Team Yellow seems to not have its act together on OT blade cases, OR OT BLADES for that matter.
This is a bit like discovering your favourite actor, or inventor, sniffs or eats glue. It’s so weird a discovery that you just don’t have words to explain what is going on.
But, do check the Service Center online guide for their OT blade boxes. Some really do exist that are very nice, if you’re willing to buy direct. I think a couple of the TSTAK boxes and drawer sets hold the blades pretty nicely, but not everyone is running TSTAK, so still check the parts and service section of the website for more selections.
