Next up, a 205pc Dewalt mechanics tool set, DWMT81534.
This set looks to feature Dewalt’s latest tool revisions. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a sample of the new ratchets, but no luck yet.

The kit features fine-tooth (72-tooth) slim-profile ratchets, 6pt sockets, a couple of socket extensions and adapters, a screwdriver handle, an assortment of bits, hex wrenches, and more than a couple of wrenches.
Looks like a good buy.
When shopping for a mechanic’s tool set, it was good advice to look at the number of ratchets and sockets it came with. There would be a lot of fillers, maybe a total of 4 combination wrenches, a large assortment of screwdriver bits, some hex keys in a vinyl bag.
According to the list of what you get, there are 106 sockets. There are 3 ratchets, in 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ sizes, a couple of adapters, a screwdriver handle, and wrenches that look to add value to the set, and not just countable chunks of metal.
For someone who knows they need some mechanics tools, but aren’t sure what too much or too little looks like, this looks to be a good value for under $100.
“Was”: $130
Should you buy this set? I can’t really answer that. But if you think it’ll serve your needs, it’s a good deal.

I just bought the DCK277C2 (Dewalt entry level brushless drill/impact kit), werner 3.29′ platform and a Crescent black phosphate 10″ adjustable wrench for $173.96 tax included from Lowes after purchasing a $40 off $200 coupon on ebay for $0.99. The nice thing is that you can customize whatever $40 worth of extra stuff you want to the drill, like the 12 Gallon Shopvac for $40. I love coupons…

That is quite unorthodox to bundle the greatest impact and the cheapest drill in a same kit. That kit would make sense if one was to use that drill only for making pilot holes for fasteners, or if somebody wants to get a backup- drill in case your primary drill suddenly fails.
Tool of the trade
Price went back up to $130. Thanks for the heads up on the wrench and socket set. I needed a decent set that was affordable. I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere else. Thanks again.
