Over at Acme Tools, our deal sponsor again this week, they have another automotive maintenance-focused Dewalt tool deal of the day.
Buy the Dewalt DCL045B 12V/20V Max cordless LED hood light, and you get a free 37pc mechanics tool set in a ToughSystem (or tool drawer) compatible tray.

The Dewalt DCL045B is a fantastic light, featuring a fold-up design and extending arms with non-marring hooks on both sides. (I have a test sample in-hand and love it – any questions?)

With the purchase of the Dewalt cordless hood light, you get this Dewalt DWMT45400 mechanics tool set, for free.
No coupon code is necessary, the free bonus automatically appears in your cart at checkout.
The deal ends at 11:59pm ET 11/8/2022, or while supplies last.
Is it a Good Deal?
The hood light is priced at $169, which is a little higher than you can buy it for at some other retailers right now.
Acme Tools says the Dewalt mechanics tool set has a retail value of $69. With a quick price check, I found this to be accurate. One retailer has it for $65, all others look to have it for $85 and up.
If you want both items, this is a great deal. If you were looking to buy the hood light and can use the mechanics tool set, $169 is a very good value for both.

Shipping is a flat $6.49, or free over $199.
Question: Would anyone of you buy just the light and bonus mechanics tool set, or would you check your shopping list and Acme Tools’ other deals to push your order over the free shipping threshold?
More Dewalt Tool Deals
Acme has more Dewalt tool deals worth a look.
Dewalt Cordless Tool Kit + 1 FREE Tool or Battery
This one’s new to me. The selection of eligible tool kits is vast, include Dewalt’s 20V Max tripod LED worklight, brushless 7-1/4″ circular saw, die grinder, 3 different impact wrenches, and a couple of other tools.
The freebies are decent, with the best being a bonus 5Ah battery, at least in my opinion. Hey – if you can’t save on a tool you’re looking to buy, getting a free bonus you could use is the next-best thing, right?
Here are more of the latest Dewalt deals.
Dewalt 20V Max XR 3-Speed Impact Driver Kit – $189
Dewalt Xtreme 12V Max 5-in-1 Drill/Driver Kit – $149
Dewalt 20V Max 6-Tool Cordless Combo Kit – $469
Dewalt 20V Max 10-Tool Cordless Combo Kit – $599
Dewalt 20V Max PowerStack Battery 2-Pack – $129
I thought this was a mistake at first, seeing as they were recently $179. $129 for the 2-pack is a very good price. The single pack is also on sale now, for $99.
Dewalt 12V Max 3Ah Battery 2-Pack – $69
Dewalt 20V Max Starter Kit + 1 FREE Tool or Battery – $199
Dewalt 12″ Miter Saw – $199
Dewalt Jobsite Table Saw with Folding Stand – $329
Dewalt DW734 Thickness Planer – $449
Coupon code TOOLGUYD will take $10 off $79+, but won’t stack with free-gift-with-purchase or other offers. It can be used once per customer and resets every 30 days.

Though I’m also using the Dewalt 12/20v platform, I bought the Milwaukee M12 hood light. 90% of the time, I use it without it’s (removable) spring-loaded hood hooks. I use it handheld, I have a mount that allows it to be a shed light, I hang it from the end hook…. I actually sold off one of my M12 tower lights as I use the “hood” light as a general purpose work light for the majority of the time.
Too bad it doesn’t have some simple fold out small tripod legs on one end – as it is, it will stand on a square-bottomed M12 battery, but it still gets a bit tippy.
Of course – as much mechanic work as I do, I also use it as a hood light and it’s quite excellent at that task.
Dewalt’s single purpose hood light looks to be much less versatile.

The Milwaukee pre-dated the Dewalt by quite a bit. I have test samples of both, and barely touched the Milwaukee since receiving the Dewalt.
The Milwaukee is good, but I like the Dewalt better, at the least because it’s so much easier to store, keeping it more conveniently accessible.

I think they are both excellent lights, I also like the Milwaukee “underbody light” no. 2126. But I just can’t justify the price of any of these. If I were a full time mechanic? That’s a different story. But for my purposes they’re expensive luxuries.
I have a couple Olight Swivels. A buddy of mine who is a heavy equipment mechanic recommended them to me, and I love them for auto worklights. They have a magnetic base which also functions as a hanging hook so they are easy to position wherever you need whether that’s under the hood or under the car. The light can be angled and has both a COB emitter and normal lens “flashlight” modes so you can get wide-angle or narrow lighting. They are compact so they can fit places a larger worklight can’t.

The free 5ah battery with that kit ain’t nothin’ by comparison to the 6ah FlexVolt available in the choices (!!!).

Thanks, I’m looking into it.
Some of these deals might have a limit as to how many can be sold at promo pricing.
