While I generally prefer Bosch blades, the 14-piece jigsaw blade set for $13.99 looked too good a deal to pass up. So, it will be in someone’s stocking on Christmas eve.

I’m still in limbo.
I tend to use a Milwaukee M18 cordless 7-1/4″ sliding miter saw for most cross-cuts of dimensional lumber, and a track saw or other means for larger cuts.
I’m still looking for a better solution with good dust collection.

Friends of mine have gone to the Bosch glide and seem to love them but when I ask if they tested for trueness and etc they look at me funny. Then I show them the 5 cut testing for squareness and etc – and “why does it need to be that tight?”
and then I get told I need a Kapex. Which is why I think a non-slider is for me.

I have a GCM12SD. I find it accurate enough for casing, cabinetry and crown moldings – but not for picture frames or fine furniture trim. For precision work – I might do a first oversize cut – then finish on the table saw or by hand either with a picture-framing vise or my Lion Trimmer.
You are probably correct in that the more moving parts that a miter saw has – there more opportunity there is for slop to creep in. Moving parts and adjustments (e.g., cut and bevel angles) are also subject to wear and tear – so the more the saw is used – the more likely there will be some deviations from true
