Dewalt DW717 Miter Saw

Amazon has some Dewalt tools on sale as part of their “deal of the day.” While they’re not extremely exciting, they seemed good enough to mention briefly.

  • Dewalt DW717 10″ Sliding Miter Saw: $349
  • Dewalt DCD771C2 Drill Kit + Premium Circular Saw: $138
  • Dewalt DW682K Biscuit Joiner: $119
  • Dewalt DW616 1-3/4HP Fixed Base Router: $89

Deal ends at 3am ET 2/22/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

The pricing seems decent on the miter saw, biscuit jointer, and router. It seems that today’s focus is on woodworking tools. Then there’s the entry-level drill/driver kit bundled with a premium circular saw. It’s a good price for the combo. The drill doesn’t look like much on paper, but it seems to be hugely popular with homeowners and DIYers.

that is a hell of a deal on the drill/saw combo. there is nothing wrong with having a compact drill around. do you really need a monster brushless hammer drill with 3 speeds to drill 1/8 inch holes in wood? i have a compact drill, might even be that one, and it is better suited for many jobs than it’s larger heavier counterparts.

if didn’t have both items already i would be buying them right now. the bare tool saw is more than that on it’s own. the drill, charger, batteries and bag are free.

It might be fine as a general purpose drill. But for a frequently used drill, I’d prefer a good 12V model or higher-spec compact 18V/20V Max model.

A bundle like that, but with the DCD777 brushless drill kit ($99 during holiday seasons) would be a lot more appealing to me.

Dewalt is coming out with a new 40V Max mower.

20V Max and FlexVolt: construction tools
      40V Max: Landscaping professionals

We’re not going to see 40V Max woodworking or construction tools, since FlexVolt fits the bill for higher power tool needs.

Did they axe that 2x20V Max mower?

I knew it was landscaping stuff. Did not mean to derail your post . 40v has gotten rare here. I bought the weed whacker. Been meaning to buy another tool maybe a hedge trimmer and a chainsaw. Hoping they dont kill the line just yet . Need to get more batteries and a few more tools first

The 40V line is NOT being killed off. There are new tools in the pipeline.
