Congratulations to Dan, winner of our Dewalt brushless combo giveaway!
I like the way that giveaway went – it was quick, clean, and the one-day deadline pushed me to get the prize out lickety split.

Which reminds me… Tronex giveaway winners: I’m still waiting for 2 of you to get back to me. You’re holding off the prizes for everyone else!
Okay, so for today’s giveaway of the day: a Dewalt Tough System music player and charger! Sorry, it doesn’t work with FlexVolt battery packs.
This is a FANTASTIC tough radio, and it’s a bonus that it’s designed to sit on top of ToughSystem tool boxes and mounting systems.
Check it Out(via Amazon)
The Prize: A Dewalt Tough System music player, DWST08810.

It can run off of 12V Max or 20V Max battery packs, is weather resistant with an IP54 rating, and it features an AM/FM radio tuner, 3.5mm auxiliary input, and Bluetooth connectivity.
It’s also a charger when plugged into the wall, and has a USB charging port.
Why?: Because it’s an awesome jobsite radio, perhaps the best I’ve seen.
Prize Fulfillment: I have a new-in-box system that I will be shipping out to the winner via UPS ground.

My workshop wishlist for 2017 is for all things organizing. I’ve binged on tools and projects for several years while letting the workshop become an inefficient mess of clutter….but first I need to finish my 2nd story screened in deck, a standing desk for my work office, bedside tables for me and my wife, a new bench for our dining room table….
Auto complete changed my name: the name on the address form will read Dylan Honeycutr
Scott K
A miter saw is high on my list of wants (maybe I’ll be the lucky winner of the flexvolt giveaway??). I’d also like a small bench mounted vise and Dremel.
Richard Christensen
A job site blower.
Jim R
2017 wish consists of a workbench addition (likely self built) and some sort of vice stand. My money-no-object list is quite a bit longer. 😉
jd bilodeau
Next workshop project is a rolling small parts box storage rack so I can learn to cut dados.
John
A drill and driver set is my next big tool purchase. I’m thinking of going with the Rigid 12v set since I am not a pro and see myself using corded for most everything else I can think of.
Scott Z
I’m looking to get a new flexvolt mitersaw for my shop, and also entered the flexvolt giveaway.
Adam g
This music player is one of my big wants for this year now that I got the storage for my tools. I also am looking for a nice forstner bit set.
Leonard A
Building a stuffed animal bungee cord jail storage for my kiddo this week.
Dean
Don’t own a tough system. Perhaps one may be in the offing. Who knows!
Dan
Gonna make a Paulk miter stand work station and a bed platform for my daughter that radio would be an awesome addition to my dewalt set.
Robert
I am looking to get a larger dust collector. Shop is too messy.
Joseph Jetton
I really need a 6″ jointer. Also a sharpening system. One of the Dewalt driver/drill kits is high on my list.
Neil Rosen
A place for everything and everything in its place…including the tunes
J Hemmendinger
Need to organize my shop and sell or give away the surplus items
Dan
WOW…..I would love the beveled saw to make things for my sweetheart.
Mike K
My goal this year is to buy a Festool track/rail saw. I have the need to cut many sheets of plywood to build some garage cabinets. No room for a table saw.
David
The two major items highest on my list are a sliding miter saw and a large tool chest. I need the ability to accurately cut larger wood boards, and I need one nice place to store hand tools instead of buckets. I’ll also be on the lookout for a Dewalt Flexvolt deal.
Albert Rampone
My New Year’s Resolution is to get organized in the garage. That starts with smart storage. Hanging wall cabinets this week. Previously, I’ve had to choose between having stuff put away/forgetting about it and having access to it but not really out of the way when I’m not using it. This all changes for 2017! I hope anyway.
Matt Walsh
Could really use a new drill/driver combo and a pressure washer soon. 😉
Cr8ondt
I’m starting a house build and plan on picking up a Dewalt heated jacket, Michigan is crazy cold right now.
MarkC
Always wanted a 12″ miter saw.
Jasper karr
This new year i’m thinking of pb swiss and knipex… a buddy brought some of his handtools from work – i now see the true quality…
Mike
I need this radio because have a workbench and router table project on my todo list in 2017 – music makes the build much more fun.
Drew P
I’ve been upgrading my 18v dewalt tools to 20v dewalt tools and my old 18v dewalt radio is in serious need of a replacement. I bought my first house this year and setting up the garage/workshop was the first project. I think this radio would be a great way to get into the toughsystem, I plan on getting the boxes and wall mounting rack in 2017!
mark morlock
I need to replace my 15ga nailer I am on the fence about the cordless ones wish dewalt would make one got to use the framing nailer was impressed on my wish list is a mafell track saw but I can’t spend that money without kicking the tires . When my mitersaw goes The flexfolt is top of the list.
Eric
The tool highest on my wish list is the Dewalt 7491RS Table Saw to replace my old Ryobi BT3000.
Bert
The DeWalt ToughSystem music player would be a nice surprise for my father. He loves his DeWalt tools.
As for myself, I will purchase a few more Bosch 12V and 18V batteries in 2017.
Ben
Want a Rockwell Jawstand XP next fpr some door projects!
Brad
I’m planning to complete my hand tool update this year. Looking to get:
Tongue and Groove Pliers either Irwin or the new Cresent ones
The Milwaukee 6 in 1 Diagonal cutters
The Craftsman 12 in Extreme Grip Wrench
Hart’s Pry Bar and 1″ Chisel
A reasonably priced Clamp On Meter that does DC (looking at Craftsman)
Got a bunch of new tools for Christmas, so excited to try out some quality new tools for once over the hand me downs and cheap ones I’ve been using.
Casey
I just moved into a new house so currently setting up the garage with lots of shelves to get materials and tools off the floor. Would love to have tunes and podcasts played loud to keep my entertained while I work. I was looking at the tiny Bluetooth radio they have but the sound quality of this should be much better.
Aaron
Next on my shopping list might be a M18 Fuel Sawzall. I heavily use 20V Max and not going to fully switch systems, but the Fuel just seems like a more inspiring tool to grab during home renovation projects… and then there’s that 9a battery.
I’ll bet that radio would rock as song playback while filming music videos!
Howard M.
My wish list for shop is long because I lost all my tools in the floods in Louisiana this year. First I need a drill/driver and impact driver. 2nd is a table saw (looking at Dewalt). 3rd is a planer. 4th would be some type of music to work by which I love the Dewalt tough system. My list is so long I hate to list them all but would appreciate any tool. Hard to replace because we did not have flood insurance. Anyway thanks Toolguyd for the chance to win.
David Funk
I could use a plasma cutter but some tough case tunes would be nice!
Terry W. Wingard
In 2017 I plan on adding the Dewalt 20v Cordless Nail Gun and a portable, small table saw (preferably Dewalt but most likely Craftsman). Early in the spring I will be building my wife a bigger raised garden bed and putting a fence around it.
In addition to the at home tools, I am always adding tool cases (Dewalt and Stanley) to my work truck. I am a crime scene investigator and I like to keep everything organized, the rolling tool boxes make that a breeze. Why you ask Dewalt and Stanley? Well they are the same color as crime scene tape! I’ve been considering the Dewalt music player, just can’t justify it yet, since it attaches easily to the tool box and having music playing while working a long crime scene is very helpful, plus it’s a charger!!
clayton
some new levels, that’s why i just logged on to the site to see if there where any reviews in milwaukee’s new levels
Paul M
My project list includes rebuilding a pool deck and redoing the floors in my home. My big tool purchase will probably be a jobsite table saw. Good Luck to everyone!
boz
I just started getting into the dewalt 20volt system and this radio would be a welcomed addition since my first ryobi radio several years ago was a complete bust and had to be returned for known issues
John Sullivan
I am hoping to get a new Multi-meter this year and possibly some new snap-on ratchets.
Landoloops
I’m hoping for a Milwaukee fuel m18 1/2″ heavy duty impact driver or a m18 portable band saw.
John J.
I need to get a router and routee table. Renovating a house and have lots of panel and trim work to do.
Derek M
This item specifically is on my wish list! The radio in my shop is on its last legs and I’ve been eyeing this as the upgrade ever since I standardized on the tough system for storage earlier this year.
John S
I am in need up revamping my storage for my tools… I have quite a nice setup with Bosch L-Racks, but I think I need to move many of my tools into a tool chest or three. The L-Racks are great, but they don’t make as much sense as something like the Milwaukee 46” tool chest combo or 60” workbench. Now, if only I can convince the wife of this…
Some music would sure help me in the process of moving everything around 🙂
CHRISTOPHER TORRES
Need to get a new box as I am running out of space in my current setup. Looking at one of the mobile boxes with a work bench on top.
fredly
Top of my wishlist is a new metal lathe. Sure would be nice to have some new tunes to go with!
Andy O
Got my own kitchen remodel coming up. I am slowly replacing old, worn-out tools, an impact driver and jigsaw are on my list in the short term.
Str Alorman
I would love this to go in my new shop! A good light and a radio make everything that much better
Brandon
Working on a basement finish, this would be nice for some music while I’m working.
rhyino
Working on getting the shop organized. Looking at getting some Wera or PB Swiss drivers this year.
Cory
I hope to pick up a table saw this spring, as well as the Milwaukee string trimmer when it comes out. My goal is to get a Garage built this spring, and then build my workspace/storage space exactly how I want it.
Cody seguin
On the tool list for 2017? Hmm I really want to jump on a few festool tools cxs, hkc55 , a midi vac and a sys CT vac also want to expand my Dewalt platform maybe some flex volt tools. The tools companies are making it very hard with such great innovations to come out this year lol happy holidays
n144sh
Wow – love the giveaways. Need this to fill out my growing yellow tool collection!
Mark Adams
My wishlist for 2017 Will inclufe a impact driver combo kit
Have done lots of reading and it looks like an impact driver is the way to go.
Have plans to build a storage building out back as well as add on an extra room to the house soon. Music helps make the day go faster.
kcalhoun27
I am definitely looking to get a new miter because the frame of mine has somehow acquired a bend and I cannot get a straight cut for the life of me. The real question is corded or cordless? Im not a contractor of any type, so the cordless would be purely for the sake of convenience. But hey, who doesn’t like shiny new tools!
Sergey
2017 tool wishlist? I want to finally get my hands on the prepaid Festool Pro sander I purchased couple of months ago (currently scheduled for a March delivery)!
Other than that I’m looking forward to a proper table saw with induction motor once I clear up piles of stuff in my basement.
Taylor
On my wish for this next year is a Bosch Reaxx Saw….I know just a small want right…I guess if your going to dream…dream big.
pete
I’ll have to agree with the brushless giveaway being nice. When i used to manage my website years ago… i would do simple giveaways, I would put a hard deadline on the giveaways of 3 days to return contact otherwise the giveaway would be redrawn.
Anyways the number one thing i want for 2017 is a new shop vac! I have a shop vac from lowes that has a 1″ ID diameter hose and it ALWAYS get plugged up! Even with just a dried out baby wipe! I was cleaning my wifes car this weekend getting ready for baby #3 and i was getting pretty irritated like i always do when i used that shop vac for anything other than saw dust…. That dewalt tough system boombox is SWEET! I always have to play with it whenever i go to our local industrial supply store. Other toys i mean tools on the list for 2017 would be some cordless OPE- certainly a pole saw, maybe a blower, possibly a hedger….
Brian
My wife wants me to build a laundry storage cabinet for all our our laundry and then put up some barn doors to the laundry room. That is my next project at the house.
Yadda
I recently purchased my father’s wood shop tools and a pile of cedar lumber. I plan on making a cedar chest for my wife in the coming year.
Rafael
I am looking forward to some battery powered outdoor powered tools, either from Dewalt or Milwaukee. Hopefully i can get a good deal on trimmer and blower package. The other big thing will hopefully be a 30 inch tool box from Milwaukee.
Jim
This would be a fine addition to my new workshop. Projects for spring are front and back decks. Can’t wait to start and then enjoy…
Diamond Dave
Finally Upgarded to the Dewalt 20v Lineup from the 18v with purchasing the DCD796, DCI
Bigmikez
Anything thing flex volt is on my list for future tools 😉 great giveaway Stuart
DannyKumite
* Next year project: front yard fence, bathroom remodel, kitchen renovation
* Tool wishlist: a bunch of quality handtools from wera, wiha, and Klein; rotary hammer.
Happy New Year everyone!
Tyler grove
I want a bosch 12 inch mitre saw and Milwaukee framing nailer!
Adam
A proper tool chest. I’ve filled up too many tool bags, and am often finding myself jumping from one to another. Not that all my tools would go in the chest, but it would be a gigantic step towards much better organization
Eric
I really want the Dewalt 735x planer, I’m hoping there are good sales again on it sometime this year!
mike foley
Oh heck yeah! Just put together a little workspace in my basement, trying to get organized. Now for some music?
Chris Shelton
I would like the new Flexvolt Miter Saw by Dewalt. But I guess ill have stick with my corded Makita for now.
J. Martinez
Top of my wishlist for the past couple of months is the Flexvolt circular saw, sawzall, and a pair of knipex wire rope cutters.
Alas, work has been very sporadic for the past couple of months and the funds are lacking..
Still, hopefully I’ll be able to get em before we get a callback for work..
Jose
A new Bletooth radio is on the list since the last one is not operational anymore and expand 12v line tools.
James
Lots of home improvements… Building a shed and pergola outdoors, new flooring and cabinets indoors…2017 is sure to be fun but busy!
Brandon
My wish list has a Kreg Precision Router Table System on it and man it would really be useful in the workshop.
Gary Ratajczak
2017 will be the year of organization. I am in a small basement shop, and space is limited. Have a number of storage upgrades planned to make the best us of my space. New CNC, so gotta have some room!
Aaron
My tool wishlist consists of a router and table, jigsaw, planer, and miter saw. I can’t wait for winter to end so I can really cut loose with some new projects!
Bill W
Stuart, I will be headed to Mississippi soon to finish a large outdoor playset that I have been building for my four year old grandson. The Dewalt DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT Sliding Compound Miter Saw Kit would go a long way in easing the process.
Blythe M
This year I need to upgrade my oscillating tool, miter saw, dust extractor, and definitely some steelflex knee pads
Jeremy G.
My wishlist will include a SawStop cabinet saw for my new detached shop!
Lack
Could use some tunes in the workshop!
Tim
My next project is a reclaimed wood headboard, with built in lighting. It’s going to go with my bed frame, which is also reclaimed wood. A job site radio like this one would be great, since my old radio decided to quit it’s job.
William Fletcher
This spring, I’m planning a dock for our pond; the first decent-sized project I’ll do with my son (20.) I’m letting him take the lead in this and I really look forward to working with him on the project.
jason. w
We will be moving out of apartment living and into a home. I have no idea what projects this will entail or tools will be needed. But I’m sure there will be plenty of both. I am both excited and terrified of how much money will be spent on tools this year.
Jonathan
Possibly some more LiON OPE this season.
More M12 Fuel tools, with Free M12 Fuel Hackzall promo from Acmetools and Milwaukee (Thanks! TG for the headsup) and adding 3 more M12 XC fuel brushless Impact/Hammerdrill kit and free baretool (3/8th 90° driver).
I’ve abandoned DeWalts 12v Max line – I’m still too invested in 18/20V with 4 new 5.0Ah XR batteries and bare tools and 18V adapter. Thanks again Toolguyd for the heads-up! Purchased thru the TG links of course, give back to this great community and help keep the server lights on and blinking, and the time you guys invest here, its always a pleasure to give business to those that are passionate about what they do.
The music player would be a great addition to jobsite.
Mark
Flexvolt tablesaw is on my 2017 wishlist.
Rick
I want to run a compressed air system through my shop. Have been checking out the rapid air kits for the home gamer. Would love to have a good radio to listen to while I set it up!
Dwight Awesome
I’m building a 2800sqft garage. I could use some music while I work
azedwick
Well I’m really going back and forth right now between Milwaukee and Dewalt. The Bluetooth function on my Milwaukee job site radio just died so this would come in real handy. Thanks for all the work you guys do. I follow this site everyday.
Matt turner
I’m hoping to put in a laguna dust collector and gate system
Matt
I’m looking for a radio or music player. I have a dated CD player in my shop that only truly works on radio settings.
I read somewhere that music assists in productivity…. So we shall see
MikeH.
Tool storage. Got my eye on the Milwaukee 46″ 16 drawer combo unit.
Moises A.
I’m hoping to get a miter saw and a brand new 18 gauge nailer
Patricia
I would love to have the tough tunes radio because I hear it has the best sound and you always need some tunes when your doing some DIY work around the house!!
John Ghandour
My little boy and I work out in my garage after school. This Dewalt music system will keep the tunes flowing and our motivation going!
Mike T
I’m building cabinets for the wife’s Kitchen. After I pay off the track saw I bought I’m hoping to pick up a festool domino tool. There’s only so much time and tool purchases she’ll let me get away with if that kitchen doesn’t get done soon.
Brian
I’m looking to get a table saw
Shane
I’m not sure I’ll get it, but my daughter and son are starting to want to work with me more, and I get really nervous because I have an older table saw missing some of the safety features. Don’t plan to let them use it, but them even being near it makes me wish I had a guard, etc. on it. Plus I let the nonprofit I used to work with borrow it and it didn’t come back so great, haha! So, possibly a table saw…
Pat M
I am looking to getting into more metalworking, and a cordless 4 1/2 inch grinder would be a great replacement for the corded 4 inch one I have now. A cordless sawzall would be great, and I can dream about a cordless portable band saw…
Timothy Butterfield
I want a new compound miter saw for my garage/shop. I also want to find time to build my bosch l-boxx trolley workbench.
Steve N
All this time I’ve gotten by with old tables or desks but 2017 will have to bring a real workbench. The question will be shop built or bought?
Brad Copeland
My next big tool purchase for 2017 is a proper bandsaw. I have an 8″ bench top band saw that works ok but I’m looking forward to a 14″ bandsaw.
Brian
I’m looking for a new sliding compound mitre saw.
Brent
I got a DeWalt ToughSystem set for Christmas including the large rolling box, 2 medium, three TS-130s, the parts carrier and the tote, so the speaker would be just the thing to round that out.
I just started getting all my tools organized in one place with a Husky tool chest, and realize that after 3 moves in the last 6 years, I can’t find a lot of stuff.
I’m planning on upgrading my automotive sockets from cheap no-name stuff to something at least in the high end consumer range like GearWrench, or, if I get a good year-end bonus, perhaps S-K, which would be for sentimental reasons as the first socket set I ever bought, about 40 years ago, was S-K.
I am also going to build some shelves for the basement so a pair of Jawhorses is on the list to hold the wood up.
I do a lot of work on my girlfriend’s house so I will build out the rest of the portable tool kit I’m putting in the ToughSystem boxes — which I think my girlfriend bought me so I would bring my tools more often when I go over there… So there are a fair number of miscellaneous hand tools, including duplicate wire strips and pliers, basic carpentry and electrical tools, etc. on the shopping list. I’m partial to Irwin pliers and cutting tools in part because of those German ones they OEM, but am also a big fan of Milwaukee Fastback II knives so more of their tools are creeping into my mobile kit.
But most of what I’m planning to work on is my bicycle, so I’ll probably be buying a lot of Park Tool specialized bike tools. A set of PB Swiss Tool hex keys will probably be in the mix there, since a lot of the fasteners on a bicycle are metric hex bolts.
Josh
My current wishlist is:
Rockwell Jawhorse
Knipex installation pliers
New table saw (but really can’t justify it as the old makita my dad gave me is bulletproof)
And my major project is putting in new windows in my 1908 house.
Sam
I would like to get some photos swiss stuff in 2017. Or a m18 multi tool.
Sam
Pb swiss I’m sorry
Art
Nice, I’d use it to top my Tough System boxes that store my sundries such as sanding paper, etc. Oddly, I think what is on my list are a few Ryobi items such as the detail sander and the new One+ belt sander.
Chad Brink
I lost my radio when I gave up on 18v battery technology. I’d love to have a current replacement. This would be a gateway into the storage system also.
Catfish Horan
I have a (major for me) kitchen remodel underway w/ plumbing, electrical and carpentry work to be done … attempting to do it all myself w/2 toddlers in tow 🙂
Ryan Price
I know I’ll be in the market for a low angle jack plane in the near future, and since Lie Nielsen doesn’t yet make jobsite radios for my shop, I think this will do just fine!
Joel H
I have some really nice music. This DeWalt portable player would be a nice way to enjoy those tunes. The Channellock 8WCB WideAzz Adjustable Wrench has been on my tool wish list for a while. It could replace several other tools and lighten my toolbox.
Zak M
I just bought a new house that needs some loving and I’m only just building up my tool chest and already falling into the tool addiction rabbit hole. With that said, I still need to get a multi-tool, circular saw, a router, and a torch (welding has always been a hobby of mine).
Jonathan Brown
Sadly Santa passed my by so now i have to go out and get my own:
Knipex pliers wrench set and Dewalt cordless mitre saw… if only they ran directly on coal
Rman
This radio would be a great addition to my garage while working on never ending projects. The big plus is that my max 20 v batteries will work when I’m in the driveway.
As
Seth Anglin
I really want to get a Festool drill. I need to up grade my older dewalt and the cxs looks like a good fit.
NathanB
I just plan on some more organization to hopefully get some stuff out of the garage from our recent move. Then maybe I can actually have an area to work.
Miguel E.
Im looking foward a Dewalt Flexvolt Circular Saw.
Elias
My garage work bench needs some love. The previous owners took the mounted vice with them. So I am looking to add a bench mounted vice back to it. Bigger project will be getting electrical over too it for some reason no one ever ran power over there, currently I am working with an extension cord running from about 15 feet away. This will probably be an early spring project. A Miter saw would look really good next to the vice!

I just decided to get back into woodworking, so I made a shirt list of power tools I need. Miter saw, table saw, random orbital sander, belt sander, belt and disk sander table, router and router table, drill press, planer, quiet air compressor, and more. I’m going to have to piecemeal it, so a free radio would be nice!
Pete Olsen
Anne’s workbench…pissibly the gorilla. And a new cordless tool set are the top Of the need list. The makita set might work. It’s amazing how much I use my shop radio. Of course if I win this then maybe a different took set will be needed!
Greg Lawrence
Great giveaways thanks to toolguyd.com
My wishlist for 2017 is the dewalt toughsystem storage components and ope equipment trimmer blower chainsaw etc
Jason
I really need a new toolbox like one of the Dewalt or Milwaukee versions I’ve seen at Home Depot. I’ve got too much clutter and need to get organized.
James R.
My next project is a farm table for our apartment.
I have a long list of new, updated tools for my wish-list:
20v Drill
20v Impact Driver
20v Circular Saw
lots of STORAGE
James R.
Oh, and a portable work bench. Something foldable, and stable.
Shan West
I have seen this at Depot many times and it’s awesome. Expensive though – $200 bucks! As for tools next year, I plan on several.
Dewalt 3 base plunge router with hard case. I plan on building my own house (and starting a video blog for help, advice, and to memorialize the ultimate DIY project) and so I am going to need a new table saw (Dewalt flexvolt). My wife says that when it’s built my Dewalt tool chest(s) are not going back into the dining room like they are now.
😀
I recently bought the 120 flexvolt dual bevel sliding miter when it was on sale for $200 off (thanks for the tipoff Toolguyd/Stuart). The list goes on and on.
However, like so many of us I have a brand loyalty. Certainly other tool manufacturers have positive aspects to their products, but for me, nothing compares to the quality, power, and dependability of Dewalt!
That said, let’s just face it – their tools are just so cool. I may be wrong but I don’t think Dewalt has added a flesh detection system to their saws yet. I would like to see that in the near future.
Have a great New Year everyone!
Ken
I have deck and siding work on my house next spring and summer. On my wishlist are a nailer (maybe cordless?) and a miter saw. I need to build some workbenches too.
Rick
I have recently purchased a new house with my fiancé . I am hopeful that I can begin to get my new 2 car garage in order and prepared to start designing and building a complete workshop. I am into building furniture and diy project so there are many tools and storage on my list of things to purchase for the new year. Any help I can get would be appreciated.
Henry M.
I’m looking at tool storage cupboards or chests for 2017.
Richard SImon
I just invested in the Dewalt 20v system so this would be a good addition. Tool wise for this year, I do not have much planned except some better portable work stands.
Jonathon Lee
My next “tool” acquisition will be storage drawers for all the miscellaneous screws, washers, etc. that I always keep accumulating. I’m also planning on making a rolling air compressor storage container that doubles as a worktop (2′ x 2′) that may one day turn into a miter saw worktop.
mbr207
A miter saw is on my wishlist for the next year.
Russ Cross
I kinda fancy that Dremel MM30 Multi-Max Oscillating Tool. That would come in handy for so many jobs.
Tiberious Johanson
The new Dewalt Powerstation thing to replace a small generator. Also looking st the Arbortech Mini Grinder. My next project is a 7 foot Owl Carving on a Sign for a local park.
Saint Clarence27
My priority has to be a good table saw. I wish I had the dough for a real powermatic or some such, but I’ll probably be going with a contractor-grade.
Will
I only have 3 cases and one is the drawer unit, but once I get the wall rack I’ll have a corner dedicated to the tough system and this radio would complete my workshop. I always need music and wearing headphones is too dangerous in the shop. So if I win this or not I will be getting one ,I just can’t handle that price tag at the moment.
Eric
Two of the new Kreg Mobile Project Center tables are on my list of “tools” to get in 2017.
Sergio
I would like to get a table saw in 2017? And build a shoe rack for shoes or clothes? Thanks for the opportunity toolguyd
Jeff H.
Still need a new miter saw.
Mason G
I plan on remodeling my parents bathroom as a secret gift when they go on vaction. I actually need a few new tools but the radio would make work a lot more fun!
Anand
Started working on my shop in our house, but we sold the house. Bought a new house, so starting from scratch again. Bought some Dewalt tools with the bare tool sale on Amazon, bought more when the price dropped down to $245 for the batteries x 2 and 2 bare tools. A small table saw would be a nice addition but I have plenty to keep me busy so far. Thanks for an excellent website, updates and recommendations.
Marc O
I’m hoping to get a scroll saw or possibly the new tough system storage boxes in Home Depot.
Laurence Partan
Most needed this year are a table saw, strong vise, clamps to handle laminating counter tops, frames, etc, and a MIG welder.
Danny
I guess I’m mostly looking at finally getting a Festool tracksaw and MFT table. Other than that, I’d like to start getting some cordless yard tools.
Bremon
Dewalt XR 15 gauge and 18 gauge nailers are top of my list for this year.
Jim P.
My next project involves building built-in book shelves for my office. My 1 year old is into everything and a little more space may help get things out of his reach.
As for my wishlist for tools, I’d love to have a nice table saw but for now I’ll make do with my current set up…a straight edge and circular saw.
Tad
Thanks for the great giveaway……..high on my list is complete tool organization for project. As far as tools…DeWalts 20v brushes planer or Toughsystem power station.
Chris
For 2017 I will be buying a 3 point post hole digger. We just bought a new place and will be replacing old horse paddock fence. Also will be completing a horse run in shelter that is 75% completed. For 2017 projects besides replacing fence will be to go through the 3 stall barn and making sure everything is in good shape, building a workbench for the garage and finding a place for all my tools. I’m hoping by spring all the inside stuff will be done. Wish list entails a fan that is capable of withstanding heat when placed in front of my radiant heater in the garage (if anyone has a good solution for this please chime in).
Scott Beck
I’m ready to switch to Dewalt. Let’s start now!!!!
Ben
I want to pick up a 12lb Wilton sledgehammer and see how unbreakable it really is. Also would like to replace my Hilti TE-7 with a TE-7C, probably a hard sell to the wife.
I have an old 100lb propane tank in the garage and would love to build a smoker out of it.
JMG
I have several tool purchases on the horizon for this coming year. One of these will be a cordless track saw (hurry up Dewalt on that Flexvolt), for cutting all the panels for the kitchen cabinets when I get to that part of my house renovation project. Nothing like gutting a house while living in it. It’s a bit like living in your workshop. Another item is a drywall sanding system, with the two front runners being the CS Unitek ELS225.1 or the Festool offering. The CS is currently being offered with a free vacuum, so they have the definite edge, but are a bit of an unknown tool company for me. I also have been eyeing the new Flexvolt table saw, but as I already have a corded Dewalt, it is a much lower priority and will have to wait… My Makita jobsite radio is in need of an update too (doesn’t have bluetooth), but that is even lower on the list. On the wish list end are some metal working tools, like a small box brake and some edge rollers (oi vay edge rollers are expensive), along with other assorted hand tools not yet in my tool kit. Tool budget is going to be stretched a bit thin this year…
Will L
I’ve had my eye on one of these for a while! They’re just a tad too expensive for what they are.
My next project with probably be building some cabinets for the house.
Casey F
The tool on my 2017 wish list is a table saw. I need something a little more compact and powerful than the current one that i have. Moving it from house to house as needed can be quite heavy.
Josh Petrowski
Toolguyd!! Well first of all, I have been eyeballing the flex volt tools ever since I discovered them! I currently run 20V Dewalt for the majority of my tools, but have noticed my 20V circular saw just doesn’t cut the cake. I would like to get the flex volt circ saw in the near future. My next project will hopefully be a flip home, pending I can find the right deal. Would love to have Dewalt tough system music player to provide the jams needed to complete my next project! Keep on Keeping on!! Your site Rocks!
Sean
It’s going to be mounted in my SXS Kawasaki
Dave
I would love to add the DeWalt flexvolt track saw to my tool arsenal. It would be great to breakdown sheet goods in my small shop. Hopefully DeWalt will hurry up with that saw!
JeffC_VT
I’m planning a custom closet system for my master closet, watching for a sale on parallel clamps currently.
Jeff W
Thanks for another chance at a promo.
Hardwood floors & additional windows coming to the house in 2017!
Eddie
My planer pooped out, so I’m in the market for a new one in 2017.
Thanks!
Joe
Great giveaways! Flexvolt stud and joist drill is on our wishlist to make our lives at work a little easier! This radio would definitely make the day go by much better tho!
Jason
Baby nursery & a finished basement have commenced. Would love a shot at listening to some good music while I hammer these out. Thanks!
Carl Snyder
I’m looking to add the flexvolt grinder, recipsaw and hopefully 20v max brushless 3/8 impact!
Milo
Dewalt tough system workshop wall racking system. I have started grabbing a bunch of different tough system components. Think getting the hanging wall system will work for swapping stuff out then just a monster rolling cart. My intent is to have a couple different specialty set ups that I will grab to combine with a general set-up depending on the job.
Project is new garage door landing.
Travis
I’m thinking about adding a couple M18 tools this year. Also, loving the Tough System boxes for storing things so I will probably add a bunch more of them. Doing some deck rebuilding as well but I don’t think I can justify a cordless mitre saw for that. Maybe some more SK hand tools too. I’m really liking them so far and the quality seems top notch.
Ed
I’m looking to get a table saw and build some cabinets for the garage.
UncleBadger
I will be buying a 7491rs this year and may be getting into the tough system since I aquired a few bare tools over the holiday so this would help me decide
Steve
This would be a nice addition being I have just got the tough system boxes for Christmas. I have been looking for a bluetooth system for use at home and for the job.
Paul P
I’m very interested in getting a multi max oscillating tool. As for projects, is love to build tables for both my table and miter saw.
Mike K
Thank you Stuart, this is real nice. For me on my wishlist for next year is a good table saw and a portable work light.
Chrisk1970
This would be a great addition to my shop which will hopefully also be seeing a dust collector in the near future!
Adam
Looking for a compact quiet air compressor for light duty trim work.
Matt Farewell
Precision Instruments 3/8 Split Beam Torque Wrench is on my list for 2017. Yet I think next month my build it project will be a snowboard portable waxing table, courtesy of REI’s blog instructions. Does a snowboard waxing iron count as a tool!? Ha ha
Jimboslice
Very cool Stuart, hope this goes to a home that appreciates what you do for the tool community! Hope you had a great Christmas thanks for taking care of your readers!
knarlycarl
Actually already have a Pro5 Festool sander on the way, can’t wait! I’m hoping to supplement that with dust collection to do some drywall sanding because i hate doing it by hand and all the dust involved.. I have a shower to finish.
I’m also always looking to expand my arsenal, may even look into the tough system boxes, granted, they will store milwaukee tools, but that’s another story.
Looking at getting a portaband, a stud drill, and possibly a stand to turn the bandsaw into a shop bandsaw.
I don’t generally post here, but I wanted to add another entry to get another to the mix, so pass my entry along to someone else!
Russell W.
The Dewalt flexvolt circular saw is on my list. Since I am in the Dewalt 20 volt line and my garage radio just died this would work great.
Steve W
About to start on building a pedestal for the new washer and dryer that Santa delivered. Hoping to expand on storage solutions this year. Thanks again for the great giveaway!
TGRRAG
Without a doubt the new Flexvolt miter is on my wish list for 2017. As a DeWalt loyalist, this will be the perfect addition to my shop. I’ll use it for crown molding and cabinet installs. In addition, it will be great for the occasional deck work I find myself involved with when the weather improves. This radio would be the perfect compliment. Thanks for the opportunity!
Mike C.
My next project will start 1-1-2017. We just purchased our first home and I will begin remodeling the upstairs bathroom. This will be my first tile job. I’m looking into purchasing a wet saw to help the job go quickly. I’m also looking into a new jigsaw. As of now, I’m leaning toward a cordless dewalt jigsaw. Good luck everyone!
Andrew W
Anther option is to get a tile cut, and (if you’re good at following a straight line) supplement with a decent 4.5″ angle grinder along with a diamond blade (DeWalt makes a good one). You should cut outside, since dry cutting is pretty dusty, but the angle grinder has been more versatile than the tile saw, and I’m glad I invested that money into a tool that gets much more use than a tile saw would.
Andrew W
That should say “tile cutter”. The manual kind that allows you to do straight cuts all the way across the tile.
B-Rad
A new dual action sander is on my 2017 wishlist. Probably not going to swing for the fences and get a Festool. Instead I’ve been very interested in the Bosch 1250DEVS…
JV
This will be perfect for my tough box setup that i just got for christmas.
Ron G
The WIHA 66982 ErgoStar Ball End Hex L-Key (both Standard and Metric) has been sitting in my Amazon wish list for too long. And even though I have bought the Mobile RIDGID 22″ Pro Gear Cart, I may (potentially will) have to purchase the Dewalt version to go with this music system. I have listened to it just last week and it is the best sounding job site radio I have ever heard.
Greg B
We need some tunes when building the father-in-law’s boat dock this spring.
Nick
I’m thinking a good workshop goal is to rein it in a little. I have a sweet electronics shop and a decent automotive work area, and they’re both starting to get overrun. I’m thinking maybe a goal is to organize and downsize a little, and another is to just buy tools I’ll definetly use, not leave to collect dust.
We’ll see. Love the website! I don’t usually comment but always enjoy it.. Keep it up!
Jonathan
A sweet miter saw, or a solid smaller table saw would be awesome. Need to do trim and cabinets, plus a fence next year.
Nick
A new aftermarket fence and 50″ rails for a 1950’s cabinet saw I rescued is top of my wishlist for 2017… But what to get??? Biesemeyer? Are they still what they used to be? Vega? Are the round rails an issue? Incra? Can I deal with the extra 3′ required at the end of the saw in my small garage? Probably not… I don’t suppose a review of aftermarket fences is on your near term agenda???
Durman
This would make the job site sound a whole lot better.
Brien
My list is simple: DEWALT portable power station and get rid of noisy generator. But some loud tunes can help.
Hank
On my workshop list for 2017 is a new-to-me table saw with router table extension, and/or a decent bandsaw. I’d love to do some resawing, and while my current folding stand table saw makes decent enough cuts for most work, having something that’s permanently set up, and capable of dead on cuts, would be awesome. Having a router table extension attached would be great.
Having a sweet shop radio to go along with it (and charge my batteries) would be an awesome bonus!
Thanks, as always, for the giveaways!
Daniel Janczur
At the top of my 2017 workshop list is the dewalt toughsystem wall rack to organize all of my toughsystem boxes I acquired based off the recommendation from ToolGuyd!
Mikal
I am currently upgrading most of my 18v Dewalt tools to 20v Dewalt tools. Also getting the 18v-20v adapter for the ones I do not use as much.
As some others have noted I need to work on storage and a good work cart design.
The Dewalt radio would fit in good with the rest of my current tool lineup.
Thanks for another great tool giveaway.
T TO THE OM
Definitely need a table saw and more dewalt tough boxes…. love the ones I have
Chris Petersen
For 2017, I’ve got several things on the tool wishlist (like most years). I’m in the process of switching over from my Porter-Cable 18v Lithium tools to Dewalt 20v Max (started with one of the good HD Christmas deals scouted out here on ToolGuyd!). The Dewalt radio would be an excellent addition and match my investment I’ve been making in the ToughSystem lineup (i’ve been drooling over this radio since it came out!).
I also want to start moving ahead with organizing the garage a bit better for doing some woodworking, so I need to get a better work table (that 60″ Husky mobile tool bench looks like a winner on multiple fronts, another find here on this site) and clear up some space for my table saw by building a shed for the garden tools & tractor…looks to be a busy year!
David
My next tool purchase will be a DeWalt 20v drywall kit. I have one gun and they are great! I do want the router as the Ryobi brands batteries fail after a short amount of use.
Troy
Next on my to-do list or project list is going to be replacing a ventilator fan in my bathroom and tiling my front entryway. I’m looking at getting some more tool storage but also looking at a new router setup. I’ll probably go with some Menards tool chest and a Dewalt Router.
Troy
Or maybe that new shaper origin. That looks pretty sweet
Greg B
The next project I have planned is to finish renovations on the nursery, hopefully before the kid is old enough to do the project herself! Thanks for these nice giveaways!
Nathan
I wonder how much IP54 protects against sawdust in the same workshop… of course, I could just take the plunge on an Festool TS55. More specifically from your Ultimate Tool Gift Guide, the Proto I-beam wrenches are looking really good after some auto work yesterday with budget wrenches.
Angie B
Mig welder differently need new welder
And a shop dust collection system
Daniel Jacobsen
My project is converting a cargo van into a adventure van. Lots of woodworking and some metal fabrication. My favorite new tool is the flexvolt angle grinder
Travis
I need from wishlist a. Dewalt DCF887D2 20V MAX XR Li-ion 2.0 Ah Brushless 0.25″ 3-Speed Impact Driver Kit and all flex volt tools I need them help take stuff a part .I need these too Knipex 9K-00-80-122-US 3 Pc Cobra Pliers Set w/ Keeper Pouch, 5″, 10″ & 12″ – Plastic Grip.
skfarmer
i want to upgrade some of my 18 volt dewalt to 20 volt max models. i would also love to upgrade to this radio to compliment my tough boxes and current 20 volt max tools.
Jim the Restless
I’m working on getting a home shop space up and running, so more so than tools right now my wishlist is topped with organization and a good workbench.
Not really too much I need for work right now, but a better set of combination wrenches might find their way into my toolbox this coming year.
Andrew W
Wish list: a good jig saw, and a track saw.
Projects: finish expanding the master bedroom and framing out a new walk in closet. (The M18 hackzall is awesome for demo, by the way!). Then put in a drywall ceiling, finish the walls and install hardwood flooring throughout the rest of the main level.
If I finish all that by summer time, I might raise the floor in one of the add ons,
Eric H
My wishlist includes a Festool dust collector, sander, track saw, and domino. I am also interested in doing some CNC woodworking and getting an X-Carve.
Brian
My tool wishlist consists of the Ridgid Hyperdrive nailers and a Ridgid Benchtop Planer!
Richard G.
Looking for a new miter saw, either Dewalt or Milwaukee. But this radio would fit anything.
Adam
I think I’m too late. Bummer, I love music
Gage Edwards
My next project is starting welding vocational school.
CDL
Gimme gimme!
John Holmes
Next on my wishlist is either a Bosch 470EB jigsaw or a Dewalt table saw
Bradley Hanstad
Nooo, single day entries suck 🙁 I usually check this ever 3 days or so.
OH well, I will still share that I am looking towards a new bandsaw. Hopefully, something I can slow down a bit, or at least use for light metal work.
Brent Davis
the 7 1/4 cordless is next on my list then the cordless planer
BC
Bummer. I looked at this over the holidays, but couldn’t justify the purchase. I check in late today….ugh. Here’s hoping you don’t collect responses till morning!
Chris
Top of my list is the new makita xwto8z impact wrench can’t wait to get one, also high on my list is some gearwrench impact socket sets
Tommy
I want to update my table saw. I currently have an old cabinet saw, but with space constraints in the shop I would like to go to a contractor type setup on a movable stand.
RKA
Pick 2 new tronex giveaway winners. It’s been a week, if they haven’t responded yet, it’s time to move on!
Derek
Building my dream garage this year – FINALLY – and could use this to keep all our Dewalt tools charged – as well as keep my boys whistling to their favourite country tunes at the same time. Would be especially useful for the Dewalt 20V miter (DCS361B) I plan to buy as soon as it goes on sale.
chris parker
right now, i am in the middle of building my own high quality workbench..i have the top all glued, and doweled..i am getting planned at a local cabinet shop soon, and have yet decided on how i would like it’s under cabinet, or legs to be…i really like the cabinet style that you have recently posted about, and think i just might go that route, at least on one end..i also have a fast drive , single wheel, no chain, moxon style vise i am adding once i get all the base completed…i cannot wait to post, and show how it works…my only problem is that i am very poor, and it takes a lot of time to get the materials i need…on the subject of a 2017 wish list, i would love a shop fox table saw i have been eye-balling, or the top of the line dewalt planer that is way out of my range..anyway, i love this site, and it keeps me up to date on products, and new approaches to different projects as well..this has been greatly appreciated for many of my projects..i love my milwaukee fuel drills, but i would just freak if i ever won any of these new dewalt flex- volt tools, and accessories…well, let’s hope 2017 is a better year, and thank you so much for thinking like me when it comes to everything i am interested in knowing about, or recent pricing..thank you again……chris parker
Jamie
A Jet Lathe is on my tool wishlist for this year
Ryan Rich
My tool wish list for 2017 is a track saw and recip saw. I am currently building a flip top table stand. My big shop project for 2017 is a miter saw station.
Edward
My garage needs some music as I am working on my wood sign carvings.
Darryn
This unit would be a wonderful addition to the 60v kit for when I’m working on the cabin.
Dale
Hey, some her broke into my storage garage and took some of my gear. All my makita cordless was in there..so ya, the tool list is pretty big…I really want to make the switch to dewalt..andclearly, am in the market for a new shop/camping radio.
Cheers, and happy new year everyone!
Dale

12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw would be nice to have when you go to places without power
Planning on building a roof on my porch.
Neal Milette
On my list is a Dewalt sliding miter saw and Dewalt saw horses. Both will play a big part in building farm tables which is on my next project list.
Mr. Creek
I wish for 2017, that Toolguyd would do a Tough system radio review, and waiting for flex volt chain saw.
Connie E
Our next big project is to remodel in-law suite in our basement for my mother to move in and there are many projects to be done before it’s livable. Love to win this
Thomas Bulger
I would use that 60v kit to finally get that new shed built out back and start the room addition in the attic that we need. That kit is perfect for that.
Shawn Chasse
For 2017 I want a new drill and a bandsaw.
Eric
A band saw sounds great too.
Kent Penigar
are you kidding? the Dewalt Tough System music player and charger of course!
Rob Van Zeeland
I’m not sure about tools yet but we have two bathrooms that need to be redone.
Eric
I would like to buy a jointer in 2017.
jcayce
January 2017 begins with me replacing cedar eaves as our tin roof is being replaced at the same time (the roofers said they’re not carpenters). Luckily I will be cutting lots of rough cut 2×8 and 2×6 cedar and it will be the cusp of South Texas cedar season. I only say luckily because I am allergic to cedar. As far as future tool purchases, no more cheap stuff. Whatever I buy at this point I need to be able to leave to my son so I will be replacing any cheap hand tools, including my mechanics set, with investment grade tools. I’m not rich but I do my research, i.e. Williams 1\2 ratchet set is on its way.
truckdriver
Dewalt flex volt track saw for my upcoming floor replacement.
Joel
It’s time for a cordless grinder.
Chris
#1 activity for the next year is to figure out how to fit a car – all the son’s new outside toys and all the tools in the garage and still have room for building out my new engine.
I’m in search for a second tool box and am stuck being overly picky and wanting it to match my now discontinued Craftsman Professional (circa 2003) unit. I realize they are still made by Waterloo….but, they don’t “match”.
I know….I have really tough problems.
In any case enjoy reading along – thanks for offering the giveaway chance!
Adam g
Any idea when the lucky winner might receive their surprise?
James R.
So…is there a winner!?
Ali
flexvolt mitersaw love woodworking projects
Joey gresock
I’m hopping to use the Milwaukee fuel surge this year! I’m an electrician by trade and I love love love what Milwaukee has been putting out the last few years. Not crazy about there hand tools but I’m hoping the new levels will be awesome!!
Brian
You’re killing it with the giveaways!
John F
An upgraded electrical supply is #1 on the workshop wish list for 2017! A radio would be nice too, I seem to be spending more and more time in the shop!
Jason Cribbs
My 2017 workshop wish list includes a Ridgid 13″ Planer. I am building a workshop with my son this summer and will be using a great deal of pallet wood. I need a planer to make all of the material the same thickness.
Tyler Conway
Flexvolt table saw, router table,20v framing nailer, flexvolt circular saw, these are at the top of the list
MrChow
I’ve had my m18 big 1/2 impact gun stolen from me. So I’ve been in a market for another one. I’ve looking at the new Ingersoll Rand 20V
I’ve just bought into a good deal for a some of the snap-on 14.4 line. So I’m looking for a 3/8 impact from them.
Then I’ve never gotten a nice set of screwdrivers. So I have the FELO ERGONIC SCREWDRIVER SET on my list this year.
Lawson
Laundry room this past week, rotated the washer and dryer 90 degrees to the end wall, new floor too. New vanity base with sink and faucet for the bathroom. Changing the base and casing in these rooms too. Kitchen remodel is next, new design, tearing out the soffitt, new lighting to. I do need an oscillating saw, too many uses not to have one. The radio would be a nice addition. I recently upgraded to DeWalt brushless drill/driver.
Edward Frattarelli
2017 wish list is to rebuild my old barn into a workshop.
Adam g
Has anyone won this yet?
Adam g
?
Adam g
Why have no winners been announced yet for these prizes?
Stuart
Because I need more time to finish sorting through the many entries to weed out duplicate and invalid entries.
I don’t have a lot of “sit in front of the computer time” these days, so it’s a slow process.
It’s necessary to keep things fair. How would you feel if you would have won a giveaway, but didn’t because an entry before yours was a duplicate or invalid entry, throwing off the numbers and ordering?
I am working on it, and hope to pick winners for all the outstanding giveaways by this Friday (tomorrow).
Adam g
Thanks, I’ve asked a few times and appreciate the honesty. I would’ve quit asking long ago but hadn’t seen a reply and the long silence seemed out of character for the honesty and transparency I’ve come to know this site for.
Adam
Thanks as always for the honesty, Stuart. Keep up the great work. Now pick me for the miter saw giveaway 🙂
Adam g
Any winner to this or the other giveaways yet?
Adam g
When might we expect to have the winner announced?
