Buy Dewalt ToughSystem Tool Trays While They’re on Sale

Dewalt ToughSystem Tool Trays Small and Large

Over at Home Depot, they have a new series of (Black Friday 2021) special buys on these Dewalt ToughSystem 2.0 tool trays. I bought some for myself, and might buy more. You should probably consider the same while these are still in stock.

When I posted about a similar deal last year, I purchased a 3-pack for $20 and I’m considering buying more.

There are multiple tool tray options and combinations to choose from, but I’ll get to that in a moment.

Here’s what’s so special about them. The Dewalt ToughSystem tool trays are conveniently sized, they have extending carry handles, they can be stacked and connected together, and there are fold-out tabs you can use to position them at the top of ToughSystem 2.0 tool boxes.

I have a confession to make. I don’t think I have ever actually used these inside of my ToughSystem 2.0 tool boxes yet. This is why I’m being a little overly energetic in how I describe the trays, because I want you to realize that these are incredibly versatile even if you don’t own any ToughSystem 2.0 products.

Officially, they are NOT backwards compatible with original ToughSystem products. Yes, they can be inserted into certain ToughSystem tool boxes, but not perfectly and they won’t rest on the top ledges.

I use mine in drawers, on shelves, and placed on workbenches to help contain the tools used in open projects.

The plastic construction is strong but tough with a little bit of flex.

For greater organization, you can equip the trays with optional customizable foam inserts (sold separately), or you can fit the built-in slots with DIY dividers made from plywood or similar materials.

All of the tool trays and combinations are currently shipping for free with no minimum purchase required. The “special buy” pricing is accurate as of the time of this posting and is subject to change.

(Lastly, a question for regular readers – does the layout of this post work for you? I would normally have images followed by different text links for these purchase and availability options, and I don’t typically like having so many “buy” buttons, but this seems a bit cleaner.)

I’ve been going down the Packout route but I really like these trays (and the smaller bit organizers). I think I’ll get some for around the shop / home use. It’s nice to dump things needed for a project into a tray, especially if you don’t get it finished all at once and need to come back to it later without losing everything.

three deep trays can be stacked inside a XL Tough System 2.0 toolbox.

I use a tray to hold a tool + accessories (like an oscillating tool + blades) or hand tools. When it is time to work away from the house I load the trays I need into the XL tool boxes and go.

I bought a couple Dewalt accessory cases a couple days ago when I was in HD. When I was there,I had a couple of the shallow Dewalt trays in my hand. They were about $18 for a 2-pack. I really wanted to get them, but for the life of me, couldn’t think of what I’d use them for……they would just be more clutter. But, I still want them! I suppose I could use them to carry tools or parts when doing stuff around the house…..use as a drip tray…..clean tools in…..use as a liner when transporting things that otherwise get on my truck seats. I might be making a trip back to HD in the very near future after all. Lol

    I liked the layout.

And now I’m seriously considering these, even though I don’t have tough system and probably won’t…

I just bought a bunch of these thanks to this post. Grabbed a 4 pack of the shallow and 2 2 packs of the deep. I think I’ll put the deep ones in the trunk of the car to help keep it organized.

I don’t get the pricing! Buy one deep tray at HD for $19.39, buy two deep trays for $19.97. So you get the second tray for $0.58?

A bit off topic – but I got a email promoting a 3-piece wheeled Packout kit “deal” for $229

    https://www.maxtool.com/collections/milwaukee-packout/products/milwaukee-packout-heavy-duty-polymer-tool-box-combo-kit-w-organizer-trays

I don’t know if this is a good price – but thought to pass it on.

Probably an alright deal at the moment, the set was $199.00 a couple years ago. Not sure , maybe prices will fall when the shipping containers get to port. I’m shocked at the Bora Portacube miter saw cart. They are close to double the price from two years ago.

It’s an okay deal, but same price everywhere and more than in previous years – for now at least. I don’t know what will happen in 2 weeks.
