Dewalt DWFP55130 Trim Compressor

Over at Amazon, Dewalt’s new DWFP55130 2.5 gallon air compressor is on sale for 15% off. There are a couple of select Dewalt nailers also included in the month-long discount promo.

I was checking something on the product page and noticed a little blurb at the bottom of the air compressor’s product description, which said there would be an extra 15% taken off at checkout. Sure enough, an extra $37 discount was applied to my cart right before the last checkout step.

Amazon Dewalt Air Compressor Discount

$210 with free shipping? That’s a pretty good price considering that the air compressor just came out and is selling for $249 elsewhere.

The promo expires March 31st, 2014.

Do you know what the duty cycle is on this? I’m looking for an easily portable compressor, and I want one with a high duty cycle, at a reasonable price. I have odd uses for it, where it will be used only occasionally, but when used, may have to run 15 minutes or more continuously.

I couldn’t find this info, but wouldn’t think this compressor would be up for very high duty cycle.

I do know that the similarly sized Rolair has a 70% duty cycle.

Manufacturers typically don’t provide this info.

You might try calling california air tools to see what their units are capable of. In general, I think you’ll have difficulty finding an oil free model that is capable of continuous duty, but there are oiled models that offer it with a penalty in weight in portability that goes with the oiled models. So you might have a decision to make.
