Dremel Diamond Grinding Wheel

Dremel regularly comes out with new rotary tool accessories. This time, they’ve come out with a new multi-material diamond grinding wheel, model 547GR. You can use this 1-1/2″ grinding wheel for surface grinding, sharpening, and flush-grinding tasks, thanks to diamond abrasive on its edge and face surfaces.

Dremel says that the new diamond grinding wheel is ideal for shaping, smoothing, sharpening, deburring, rust removal, and general grinding of most materials, including stainless steel, granite, and cement.

You get “up to 30x longer life” with this grinding wheel than other current Dremel grinding accessories. Not only that, it’s supposed to work up to 3x faster too.

Although it’s not obvious from the round hole, the new diamond grinding wheel works with Dremel EZ Lock mandrel, for quicker accessory changes.

If you look closely, the diamond wheel is actually dome shaped. This, and the spacing around each of the diamond grit zones, makes this grinding wheel much different from any of the rotary tool grinding accessories currently on the market.

If you happen to give this new Dremel diamond grinding wheel a try, please let us know how you like it!

30% longer than WHAT? Anyhow, looks like it would be useful, on flat surfaces at least.

Than Dremel’s other current grinding accessories.

Although annoying marketing speak, I could see how this would last longer than a typical grinding wheel. Diamond is harder than what’s used in other wheels, and the spaces between abrasive mounds should help a little too.
