Although it’s been around for quite some time now, we’re told that Duo-Fast’s pneumatic 1848-F SureShot Engineered Wood Flooring Nailer seems to be making a bit more headway in the flooring installation market. The SureShot 1848-F is said to provide for fast and more accurate engineered wood installations, which translates to greater productivity and profitability for installers.
The SureShot EWFS (no, that’s not its official name) features a proprietary tool-free adjustable foot with infinite adjustability, and can be used on tongue and groove engineered wood flooring 1/4″ to 5/8″ thick. It’s lightweight at under 5 pounds, and is said to have industrial-durability to handle the roughest and toughest installation jobs. It also features a cycle rate of 7 shots per second, and has a 180 staple magazine.
Other specs include a reload indicator to eliminate blank firing and potential flooring product damage.

At its $325-$350 pricepoint (via Google Shopping) this is definitely aimed at professional installers. We’re told that “the response from engineered wood flooring manufacturers and installers has been very positive”.
I don’t have much experience with dedicated flooring installation tools myself and wonder if there are any downsides to a tool like this, and why the sudden increase in popularity. For all you flooring installers out there, I’d love your input about this!
These staplers should be available via your regular Duo-Fast tool distributors and a few online vendors.

The Duo Fast 1848F is a great tool. Easy to adjust, and to use. I’ve had mine for a number of years, and it’s been problem free.

I purchased this Stapler 3 years ago and tried it out. The first time I used it it stoped working. After opening and clearing it NO GOOD> Then put away for a long time. Then tried again and again no good. I really do not understand why this is not operating at all. My zip code is 33317 Is there someone near me who can look at or fix this gun?????
