If you thought that Craftsman’s 6-gallon pancake-style air compressor was a great deal, but you wanted to go with another brand, check out this one, by Porter Cable (model C2002).
It features the same specs (from what I can tell at least):
- 6 gallon air tank
- 150 PSI max
- 2.6 SCFM at 90 PSI
- Weighs 30 lbs
- 2 quick-connect air couplers
- Oil-free
- 82 DBA noise level
- 10A power draw
According to Acme Tools’ listing, it’s made in the USA.
From the online photos, compared to the Craftsman air compressor, this one looks to have a slightly darker red finish for the air tank, not to mention the Porter Cable vs. Craftsman branding. There might be some other differences that ellude me.
Price: $99

Where’s the fun in that? I don’t mind a typo, grammar, or word selection correction, I appreciate them, public or private. Helps remind me that even if careful, I’m no perfect.
I should point out that I completely missed the message the first time, it took Logan’s comment for me to pick up on it.
Also, I’m disappointed that nobody picked up the ever so subtle easter egg/joke I buried in a post recently. I’m going to have to try harder.
Stuart
Thanks!

The price on amazon is now $90! I wonder if any of the prices will drop on the other 6 gallon compressors.
Stuart
That’s through a 3rd party seller (not fulfilled by Amazon).
I don’t remember ever seeing these compressors drop below $99.

meant to post this on the craftsman thread but meh.
same products and all that I got to wondering.
which parts are assembled in america. I wonder with the steel tarrif or whatever if it’s now cheaper to weld this tank in america, mount a chinese/vietnamese motor on it – and slap plastic on it and assemble it in america.
eitherway if I didn’t already have one I’d buy one
