There are a couple of Father’s Day deals and discount already in full-swing. They’re of the “usual” variety, but still definitely worth mentioning.
Makita: $20 off $100 select tools at Amazon (thru 6/17/2018, but it’s unclear which tools are eligible)
Makita: $20 off $100 select tools at Acme Tools (code MOREMAKITA, thru 6/18/18)

The deal is also available at Tool Nut, and with easier eligible product sorting
Bosch: $20 off $100 select tools at Amazon (thru 6/18/18)
Bosch: $20 off $100 select tools at Acme Tools (code MOREBOSCH, thru 6/17/18)
Bosch: $20 off $100 select tools at Tool Nut (thru 6/17/18)
Bosch 18V drill/driver kit for $89. This deal is a little less appealing compared to the still-recent emergence of brushless promo kits at $99. But it’s a slightly more compact drill that some people might like better.
Save on select Dewalt cordless tools – some of these tools seem to be discounted a little bit. Might be worth a look.

This Dewalt 20V Max 6-tool cordless power tool kit is a good value at $399. I’d like to see the price dip a little lower, or see it bundled with a bonus free tool or high capacity battery pack, but it’s a reasonably-priced “core tools” combo.
Pick Your Own Milwaukee M18 Bundle
Pick 2 cordless tools, from 5 choices, and get a free M18 5Ah battery 2-pack and carrying case.
A charger is NOT included. So this is more of an “upgrade combo bundle” than a “kit.”

FREE Miter Saw Stand with Miter Saw Purchase
Right now, you can buy the venerable Dewalt DWS780 – and at a discounted price – and get a free miter saw stand. It looks like the deal is being offered by Amazon direct ($530), as well as CPO ($520).
Want cordless? The Dewalt FlexVolt 12″ sliding miter saw kit, DHS790AT2, is also eligible.

Acme Tools is offering the same promo, but they’re also offering it on the FlexVolt non-sliding 12″ miter saw kit. With Acme Tools, select the free gift in your cart, after adding your choice of miter saw.

Select Ingersoll Rand Promo Pricing at Amazon
Home Depot’s Special Buy Deal of the Day, on the day of this posting, 5/30/2018, features a selection of ladders. The 22′ Little Giant offering looks like a good price, but Amazon currently has it beat by $10.

The same is true with their basic brushless impact driver kit, XDT131. $99.

Free Bonus Battery with Makita sub-compact cordless kits, at Tool Nut – the Makita 18V sub-compact cordless kits are rarely discounted, and a bunch of you asked me to keep my eyes open for a deal. Well, this seems to be the best deal you’ll find on the drill + impact driver or drill + impact + jigsaw combo kits.
Mosh sent in a tip about Makita’s 12V Max CT226 cordless combo kit being on sale. It’s $99 at Acme Tools and Home Depot. Amazon will probably offer this price again later in the season.

so looking at mitre saws – Home Depot has the dewalt flexvolt miter saw with the AC adapter ONLY – no batteries or charger – for something like 290. I almost put it in cart. I think it’s an overstock sell off.
Stuart
The FlexVolt saws are said to be slightly more powerful when run via battery.
But at $290? That’s a good deal for the DHS790AB “bare tool” with AC adapter. If you change your mind, at current prices it’ll cost an added ~$255 to buy (2) battery packs and a 2-port FlexVolt charger. Although, standard 20V Max chargers can be used as well.
Blythe
It seems like that is true, my flex volt saw makes a horrible weird noise when on AC, and just hums on battery. It seems to work fine on either, but my spidy senses say it doesn’t like AC nearly as much
Jeff
The DHS716AB could have been had for 249, that’s 100 less than it’s corded only counterpart.
Joren
Can you put up a link / advert for where it’s $290? Thanks! Very interested at that price.
Jeff
It was a one day only and apparently location based. The DHS790 and 716 had big overstock discounts. Back to regular price now.
Joren
Darn, Well thank you! At least I have a “Low” number that when I see it again for that price, I doubt I can do better.
Joe
Standard deals. A lot of work there Stewart,.thank you….one deal DeWalt should have done is included 2 flex 6ah/2ah batteries with the 20v Max lawn mower. Much better runtime and it would have given people 2 batteries to buy into flexvolt …..imo big missed opportunity.
Stuart
Thanks!
Maybe, but a lot of people favor lower cost of entry.
Big Adam
No bare tool option in US either……
Nate
Makita’s 12v Max 2 tool kit is on sale at Home Depot for $99.

Stuart
That’s what I thought it was at Amazon when I got the tip, but today it showed up as higher. Maybe it’ll be “activated” soon?
Updated the post and also added in Acme Tools link. It’s $99 there too.
steve
On Tuesday I used the Amazon deal to get the Bosch CCS180 bare tool for $100 on Amazon.
As of Tuesday, that deal ran out in the first week of June. Looks like they extended it a couple weeks.
Any idea if Bosch will update this model? Like much of their 18V lineup in North America, it is lagging far behind the competition. Though it’s still a very decent saw for my needs. I got it only because I’m already “bought in” to the Bosch 18V line.
Rami
Bosch is lagging behind in Europe also.
Matt
Its funny though…. I get emails from Bosch and I received one a week or two ago that stated that when paired with a core battery, the ccs180 will give you more cuts than a flexvolt circ saw. I want to say they wrote it up as 20% more cuts or something along those lines.
Food for thought

This inspired me to peruse my local HomeDepot to find the greatest deal I’ve ever found – today my local HD had this combo:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-ONE-KEY-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Combo-Kit-3-Tool-w-2-5-0Ah-Batteries-Charger-1-Tool-Bag-2796-22P/302036777
In the clearance aisle for $125.03!! (the $350 price is actually decent, but $125!!)
I didn’t really need it – but I also couldn’t pass it up.
steve
I have no need for any of those tools but for $125, I’d buy it too.
A W
Mine has several fuel one key sawzall bare tools for the same price. That one, I could pass up, but it took discipline!
fred
The Makita $20 off deal is available elsewhere too – so you might shop around to check on availability, shipping costs ant tax if something isn’t available at your first choice source. Generally I like Acme based on past experience, shipping policy and no tax for me.
Here’s an example from ToolUp another vendor I’ve had good luck with – but they want you to spend $199 or more to get free shipping from Nevada:

Tom
Any deals on track saws? I have been thinking about the Makita but saw the Bosch at JLC live and have been waiting for pricing on that one.
fred
I’ve seen it said that the Bosch GKT12-225 corded saw will not hit the US market until September – with an MSRP of $599 including a L-Stack case but no track. A Bosch cordless version has not been announced yet. Bosch seems to be slow in introducing new tools to the US market – and I’ve noticed that they sometimes miss the anticipated launch dates.
If I didn’t have a Festool – I think I’d be giving a hard look at the Makita cordless – but they don’t seem to be eligible for the $20 off deal – selling for $499 at most places. The Makita 118 inch rail – does qualify for the $20 off at Acme.
Tom
I am not really thinking about a cordless version. The reason being that I can’t imagine not using a track saw without a dust extractor attached. I have a CT Midi and a Festool sander, both of which I love. I am tempted by Festool for a track saw, but the Makita seems comparable and almost $200 less.
I only hesitate because I wonder whether there will be some advantage to having all Festool later.
RKA
Check to see if 3rd party accessories are compatible with the Makita rails (parallel guides) and Festool’s router guides. I imagine they are since the tracks are virtually the same I think. I suspect you’ll be fine with the Makita.
On the cordless front, I do agree with you, but having used my TSC with just a bag and no DE, I’m impressed! Slightly more dust than with a DE. Most of the time I’m tethered to the DE though. The saw does drain it’s batteries quickly though. And it fills the bag damn quick too!
Stuart
I had not seen any notable seasonal deals on track saws yet, sorry. But I’ll keep an eye out. Which brand are you most interested in?
Tom
I am leaning towards the Makita corded because of cost and solid reviews. But I would love for you to talk me into the Festool (no deals there).
Doresoom
I was hoping to see the Bosch Flexiclick eligible for the deal, but alas it is not. :/
Steve
You can get the Dewalt “core tools” combo kit at HD for $299 if you can live without the speaker/radio thing according to their app. They have two nearly identical kits at that price including one with a 2 and a 4 amp hour battery.
Ktash
I was in Lowes and they had this brushless 24 V kit. A great kit for beginning homeowner DIYers in my opinion. It has a 6 1/2″ circular saw, a 1/2″ drill, a light, USB battery adapter, one battery and charger for $149. I have the circular saw and it has a greater depth of cut than most cordless 6 1/2 inch size comparable to a 7 1/4 inch saw. Also their batteries start at $10 . I got a four amp battery for $50, and it’s decent. Though it says “new price” it is probably a Father’s Day deal. They have some other items and kits on sale right now, looks like Father’s Day deals to me . Though they say the batteries charge within 30 minutes, that’s only for the cheapest battery one and a half volts. So don’t be disappointed if you decide to get it. Would make a great gift for someone just starting out.
