Last week we told you about a crazy-good deal on one of the best (if not the best) oscillating multi-tools around. The Fein FMM 250Q is a fantastic multi-tool, and the START kit leaves out unnecessary accessories to make it more affordable.
Normally, the FMM 250Q kit is priced at $199. Sometimes it’s on sale for $170-$180.

Update: The price is back up to $179. It looks like there might have been a cap as to how many people could order at the lower price.
For reasons we cannot explain, Amazon is now selling these at the crazy low price of $78.44.
The MultiMaster’s quick tool-free blade change mechanism fits many popular brands’ oscillating multi-tool blades and accessories. We typically prefer Bosch and Fein multi-tool accessories.
How to get the deal:
1) Order it from Amazon Supply
Amazon doesn’t have the OMT listed for this price on their regular site. You have to order it from their industrial supply site to get this price.
2) Wait ~1-2 months (that’s the current expected backorder lead time, and it is subject to change).

3) Enjoy free shipping.

I just ordered one despite having a Craftsman version that I rarely use. But how could I pass up a Fein for so little coin?

I’ve been looking to get an oscillating tool for a long time. I couldn’t resist getting a Fein for this price. Mine is on order!
Mike foley
Wow! Even if it is just a matter of getting rid of inventory to roll out a new model, you’ve done us all a great turn here on a well tested tool! Thank you!
Brian
Mine is on order. Thank you.

People who already had an oscillating multi-tool, should follow JR’s example and take advantage of the sale. Fein is the first, and the Rolls Royce, of multi-tools. It is better built and more powerful than copy-cats made by companies like Dremel (I also have theirs), B&D, Bosch, etc.. We bought the Dremel on sale to use at home for small jobs, while the Fein stayed on the boat as it is THE tool for unbedding stanchions, stays, and hatches. Example, when removing a rotting plywood bathroom floor by cutting along the footer of the studs, the overheating Dremel was clearly outmatched. The job was a breeze for our Fein.

I grabbed one. Fein’s reputation, for less than the bosch… Sold

Just ordered one, even importing it to the UK it will still be much cheaper.

I ordered one last week when you first wrote about the deal, and even got my order in while they were still marked as “in stock” so I didn’t have the 1-2 month wait. I just received it yesterday, and couldn’t be happier. As you would expect from Fein, the quality is top-notch, the “Quick-In” system for changing blades works well, and even the storage bag is decent quality and probably a lot more convenient than a bulky blow mold case. Thank you for alerting all of us to this deal!

Thanks for the heads up! This will work nicely to complement my Milwaukee M12 oscillating tool for when more power/longevity is key.

Just added one to my cart.
Price shows up as $179 & not eligible for free shipping.
No sale….
Stuart
Thanks for the update!
Unfortunately, it looks like the deal is now over.

Missed it again!

I almost ordered one until I read it will not accommodate other brand name blades. I have about 20 Bosch brand blades at the moment thanks to the 50% off sale I ran into a month ago.
Oh well…………………
Stuart
Where did you read that?! I have this Fein multi-tool, and it fits my Bosch OIS blades no problem.
Phil
The early Bosch non-OIS blades won’t fit the Fein unless you have an adapter. The early blades lacked the”spokes” around the center hole Fein uses. I didn’t think those were still available.
Phil
My order from Amazon Supply came in yesterday, despite saying the shipping time is in 1-3 months, and I ordered this when the word broke on the deal. It’s the genuine deal, a nice starter set with the tool, a scraper blade, a bimetal wood/metal blade, and a sanding pad with an assortment of several grits of sandpaper. All of this and a roomy zippered bag. They cut the cost by not including the hard case as well, but the case is not up to the same standards as the tool IMO. Nice tough exterior, but the inlay is very thin and flimsy. The tool is the “Q” model with the tool-less quick release arbor too, a nice surprise for the cost. I already have two multi-tools (Bosch), but I was awaiting a good deal on a corded Bosch, this is even better.
Once again, Stuey made me spend money.

Mine was sent out today 🙂 Thanks again ToolGuyd

Yep, one more ordered from AmazonSupply on 6/3 and confirmed shipped today with a tracking number. Thanks for the tip on this deal!
Good thing it’s replacing a Rigid model, both are orange so my wife probably won’t notice the exchange… I hope.

I have had to old model for years and have abused the heck out of it.
it is still kicking, but the changing blades is a bear.
I order this the day i seen the review here and got it in like 10 days.
Woo Hoo.
dan
Got it today, in the UK taxes paid £74 which is about £60 less than i can get any version of it here, for a tool made in Germany which ought to cost more in the USA than Europe. This was such a good deal even if i have to use it on a transformer which is a little inconvenient.
Bob
Why do you still have this up when the price is not 179 and not 79?
John S
I don’t think it would make much sense for Stuart to delete all of his posts about sales that come and go?
Stuart
Did you not see the bold part that mentioned the price update?
As John said, I don’t remove deal posts after sales and promo ends. I do try to update them whenever I can.
Sometimes deals come back, other times it serves as historical reference.

Fein multi tool is one of the best Tools ever made. I think everyone should have one there will be a time no matter who it is or what kind of work they do , they will need it to accomplish some kind of task. I can use it for so many different jobs sometimes I feel guilty and pull out my other tools like they will get jealous because I give too much attention to my fein. I get attached to my tools obviously. This discounted price is fantastic.

I have had a Fein FFM 250Q for many years.
Been working great but now slowing down when using? Shut off and starts fine running full for 30 secs then slows down and almost stops? Anybody have trouble with theirs ?
Fixable looking for parts or ? How to fix or get fixed?
Thanks
Stuart
Maybe the motor brushes need to be replaced?
