Free Bolstermatic Knife With Any BladeHQ Purchase

Bolstermatic Pocket Knife

I ordered a knife from BladeHQ the other day, and so of course the very next day their August newsletter mentions a free knife promo. Through the end of the month, order anything from BladeHQ and you get a free Bolstermatic knife.

To take advantage of the promo you must:

  1. Order something from the store through August 31st, 2012
  2. EnterĀ Free Knife in the notes section during checkout

A quick Google search shows that this knife retails for about $10 elsewhere. While this is not a pocket knife I would ever buy, a free knife is a free knife. If they tossed one in my order anyways, I’d give it to my BIL or wife’s BIL.

Details via BladeHQ

Also, free shipping on $99+ orders.

Update: It appears that the freebies are auto-deploy knives, which are illegal in some areas. You are responsible for familiarizing yourself with your local knife laws.

Tempting. I’ve been meaning to order a Xeno E03 flashlight and Blade HQ looks like as good a place as any to order from (price wise). This freebie knife will probably make me pull the trigger.

Worth noting, the blade is 2.6 inches and closed it’s 3.5″. So overall it’s 6.1″

    Hey Stu,

They say, “please specify if you would like an automatic version.” I haven’t found any mention of a manual version of this knife (I haven’t emailed Blade HQ yet). It looks like automatic knives like these are illegal to own in Washington State, and probably some other states as well. You might want to consider that before getting one.

It looks like a cool knife, but to me at least, the functionality isn’t worth the liability.

I was under the impression there might be manual or assisted opener versions and that those who request it could get the auto.

Autos are illegal around here as well and I wouldn’t risk it either.

It could still be that if you don’t specify a preference for an auto they’ll send a manual. I’ve never heard of the brand, maybe they do make generic manual folders as well.
