Lenox makes some darn good reciprocating saw blades, and if you haven’t used them yet, now’s a good time to give them a try since it’ll cost you nothing.
There’s a lot of fancy engineering that makes Lenox blades among the best on the market, but marketing buzzwords are no substitute for firsthand experience. Over at the Lenox recip saw website you have the following choice: medium metal-cutting blade, heavy duty demolition blade, or lower profile wood-cutting blade.

In case you’re wondering, I have tried the Lenox T2 metal blade, and it’s pretty decent. Haven’t tried the wood blade yet, so that’s what I signed up for.
Note to Lenox – thank you for not requiring us to sit through a flash video in order to sign up for the sample like last time!
There are a lot more blade styles than just the three they’re giving away, but any of the three freebie common blade choices should give you a fair sense of the brand’s quality.
P.S. I was actually going to post about a different free power tool accessory sample from another brand. But then I saw that “free sample” was clouded by “sweepstakes” and the “chance to win” a free sample. That’s a pretty lousy offer, but luckily Lenox’s sample offer doesn’t have any catches.
I’m not a linguist, but it seems completely unfair – not to mention heinously misleading – to trick people into signing up for a “free sample” when it’s really a random prize drawing.

Just sent away for a metal version of the metal cutting blade. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Lenox blades, but since it’s free I’ll give this brand a try.

Stuart,
I had just been thinking how no manufacturer had done a “free” trial blade give away in well over a year. Last night looking over my Twitter updates I noticed you had posted one a free Lenox deal!
Stuart
Deal sites are why there are few free samples and accessory trial offers these days.
That reminds me, it’s been 1-2 years and I still haven’t received that free X-Acto blade offer I signed up for. And Fluke never sent the free thermography guide they promised, although I still receive occasional spam in the mail from their “partners”. Grr.
Mati
Ah yes, that X-acto blade offer, I remember reading about that. That is surprising that after a year or two that they haven’t shipped you the blades yet. Reminds me of a offer of a free T-shirt I was supposed to receive by this one company, but after several years still haven’t and likely won’t ever receive this shirt.
But wow, I am surprised Fluke didn’t send you a guide though, as I can’t imagine that costing very much and taking a very long time to ship though.

I feel like I got some free X-Acto blades a couple years ago. At least when I needed to switch out a blade I found some titanium ones lying around that I think were part of a free sample.
Prior to that, I got some great Irwin utility knife blades for free.

Thanks! Can’t beat the price. 🙂

Is the free blade offer for the U.S market only or for Canadians also either way I cannot access the site to apply for the blade offered by Lenox Thank`s

Just got my free blades. I made three separate requests to try all three different blades but was shipped all wood blades. Oh well, can’t always win.

You get what you pay for 🙂
I got mine last week. It’s also a wood one.

This is still going on. I just singed up.

have used many blades. would like to try reciprocating saw blades and also hol saw blades
Brian
I finally got around to trying mine out. Not that impressed. I find that the Milwaukee and Diablo work a lot better and last longer. Was cutting wood and through nails. Not impressed with wood or metal blade. :-/

How do I get the free trial Lenox reciprocating blades?
Adam
not available anymore. Take a look at the posting date of this, and it’s a little old

postage due on free blade samples. seems that the mailer used is for flat objects only and due to your package being not flat was charge an additional 2.61 for this error. although the thought of a free sample sounded good now have 2.61 invested plus an 18 mile round trip to recover them. turns out that I probably could have purchased blades on a regular trip to the home center. contemplating sending them back postage due just to show my disappointment.
