Deals: 50% Off Gladiator’s Adjustable Height Workbench and Wall Cabinet!

Two of Sears’ Black Friday deals are already live! These deals were supposed to go live on Thanksgiving, but they’re currently on sale at their Black Friday prices.

Be sure to check out more Black Friday 2014 Deals!

50% Off the Gladiator 6-foot Adjustable-Height Maple Workbench

Gladiator 6-Foot Adjustable Height Maple Workbench

We tested and reviewed the 4-foot bamboo-topped version of this workbench, and it is incredibly sturdy. We love the bamboo top, but wish it were maple as maple is easier to drill and cut into to install vises and various other accessories.

The 6-foot version is normally priced at $500 but is on sale at $250, which is 50% off!

If we had any room left in our shop, we’d buy two of these in a heartbeat.

More Than 50% Off Gladiator 30″ Premier (Welded) Wall Cabinet

Gladiator Premier 30 Inch Wall cabinet

This wall cabinet is part of Gladiator’s Premier line, meaning it is welded together at the factory and should be sturdier than their less expensive ready-to-assemble cabinets. It is 30″ wide, features 2 adjustable shelves behind two lockable doors, has a weight capacity of 200 lbs, and can be installed to Gladiator wall panels (not included) or directly to the wall.

The regular price is $240, and the sale price is $100, which reflects a pretty steep discount.

Since these deals have special pricing, additional coupon codes cannot be added to make the prices any better.

With both products, home delivery is $69.99, but you can also opt for free in-store pickup.

It’s unclear as to how long these deals will last, but the sale prices should be valid at least Thursday thru Saturday unless stock runs out sooner.

This deal post was first published on November 27th, 2013, and republished with updated details on November 27th, 2014. The main difference is that the wall cabinet is priced at $100 for Black Friday 2014. Last year’s sale price was $120.

Stuart–This appears to be a great deal; I’d like to get one for use as a desk. My only issue would be the height at its minimum of 28-inches. The desk I’m working at now is 25″ high (non-adjustable), which works very well for me. Does the 28-inch height include the adjustable feet (which could be adjusted or even removed to lower it)? My height (5′ 6″) means this minimum height might be uncomfortable to work at for long periods, especially when using a computer keyboard. Do you have any thoughts on that, and/or have you used this as a desk? Thanks for your input.

There is a small gap between the top of the feet and bottom of the legs – maybe 1/2″ or so.

I don’t think it would be possible for you to lower the table to be shorter than 28″. That measurement probably includes the feet screwed in all the way.

Given what you said, the only way you might be able to comfortably use this as a computer table or desk is if you attached a sturdy keyboard tray to the bottom side.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this would be suitable given your preferred desk height.

There probably isn’t any easy way around

    Use a taller chair.

Not really designed as a sit-down desk, but it would be awesome as a standing desk.

I suppose a taller chair is a quick fix. I also have a mechanic’s chair with a pneumatic lift lever that’s pretty decent. I might be able to cut the legs down (the upper, beefier part) as a means to lower it. I’m not trying to support 3,000 lbs., so this wouldn’t compromise its structural integrity. Nonetheless, I would prefer not to cut into anything if I don’t have to. I’ll have to think about it. Thanks for your views, everyone.

A taller chair might be a quick fix, but then you might have to get a footrest as well.

Trimming the legs down to size might be doable, but you would also have to make other modifications to get things to fit. Honestly, it might be too much trouble compared to just buying a fixed-height or loosely adjustable desk that can be natively sized to a 25″ height.

The $100 Gladiator 30in cabinet was a Black Friday deal last year. Definitely a great deal.
