Over at Harbor Freight, they just published their Black Friday 2020 sales flyer, and it’s HUGE. Seriously, I don’t remember it ever being this big. Plus, it seems more designed for digital devices than traditional paper format. They mean business this year.
Harbor Freight’s Black Friday 2020 sales event starts on 11/27/2020 and ends 11/30/2020.

Be sure to check the HF Coupon Database. The 5-drawer cart, for instance, is $189 with a special coupon right now, compared to $199 for Black Friday.
Harbor Freight has also been adjusting their prices. I ordered a simple US General utility cart as part of their pre-Black Friday deal, getting 15% off $99. Now, with no coupon that applies, it’s $89 as part of a Black Friday sale that ends 11/25/20. I still saved some money. That item isn’t included in the sales flyer, but maybe there be another web-only special.

The US General 44″ x 22″ tool cabinet looks to be a decent price at $450. Looking at the coupon database, there are expired coupons at $400, $440, and $450 price points. Thus, this Black Friday sale price is NOT lower than it was sold for during earlier months of the year.
Most expired coupons have that US General tool cabinet at $450, but I found one past coupon that had it for $400, expiring in March of 2020. That seems to be a rare coupon, and it’s unclear as to if or when it might return.
The Harbor Freight Hercules 20V Max cordless power tools are okay (in my experiences thus far), but $160 for a 2-tool combo kit when you can get Dewalt or Milwaukee combo kits at $150?
Do any of these Harbor Freight Black Friday 2020 tool deals catch your attention?

Best prices of the year is hugely disingenuous. You can go on http://www.hfqpdb.com and see many items at same or lower price throughout the year.
Predator 3500 was $679 in March
Titanium 125 welder was $159 earlier this year
Titanium plasma cutter same price in September
US General 44″ cabinet was $439 in August
I can go on, but you get the point. HF has always lied in advertising.
Bob Barley
Especially considering the lawsuit and settlement from a few years ago about their advertising of sale prices
fred
Amazon also sometimes proclaim things like “best price in the last … weeks/months” That may be true – and even represent an outstanding bargain. Amazon’s percent off descriptions are also sometimes a bit suspect.
Caveat Emptor is always good advice when it comes to sales advertising. Advertising being more than a bit disingenuous is aided and abetted by the English language. Proclamations of “its on sale” are usually true no matter what the price or discount. Of course its on sale – its being offered for sale is it not?
Will
For Amazon you can use camel camel camel to fact check the sale
Stuart
Sometimes. But sometimes they’re not fast, and other times 3rd party trackers don’t catch coupon or at-checkout discounts.

That same 44″ cabinet just last year was $399. An open box offer at my local store was 339.
It’s Harbor Freight. This is normal. Their prices are always the same exact thing year after year after year. To be fair, 2020 has been sh*t for retailers, so no need to cry if something is actually a few dollars more. Or else HF might disappear and then you’ll be sorry.
Andy
I’m not really sure I’d be sorry, but I get your point regardless.

The only thing different I see in these adds compared to their regular adds is that it says Black Friday Prices at the top 😒

Harbor freight pricing has always been somewhat suspect. It’s similar to a company I used to work for, essentially everything had 2 prices a sale price and regular retail. When sales happened they just set certain SKU’s to drop to the lower amount already in the system. HF seems to do the same. Not to say neither has deals they just may not be easy to find.
For instance at my old company there was a clearance section where things were marked down every month until they sold. (HF has the same) And when a manf would offer a special deal (rebates bulk buys etc) we would sometimes roll that into our pricing for a sale (this typically happened once a year)
Shopping online has become somewhat complicated too. Amazon of course runs a bunch of algorithms to set a price, and more and more other sites seem to have automated that as well. Etrailer for instance changes pricing rapidly sometimes and often with very misleading MSRP numbers next to them (some times much higher then MSRP on manf websites)

I’ve been looking at the Yukon rolling work bench, but am now considering getting two of those 5 drawer carts instead.
Opinions?
Tom D
Not sure which the five drawer are but I have the US General tool thing with wheels and a pop up top (comes in like five colors) and it’s great – but gotta get it on sale for sure.
Julian Tracy
I’ve got the Blue smaller 4-drawer tool cart and it’s a crazy deal at the $149 sale price… One of the very best values in tool storage…
Tom D
$149 is good – I’ll have to grab one when it comes around again. I have the 5 drawer and it’s awesome.
Albert
I’ve got both and like the 5 drawer cart much better. I paid $30 extra for a folding extension table that works surprisingly well. I’ve seen some people on YouTube attach two extension tables. I may try that.
Nathan
2 things struck me as potentials.
that electric HVLP sprayer
and the hercules mitre saw stand. I think that’s reasonable if the quality is 3/4 that of the dewalt verstion for that price.
Otherwise pass.
Ray
Are the Bauer drills any good ? I need a set of drills for my cabinet shop , the Dewalt 18v got left outside and the rain killed the chuck.
I keep an m12 set in my truck toolbox but those tools never enter the shop so battery compatibility is not important. I don’t use anything cordless in the shop except a drill.
Chris I
All depends on your consistency needs. Using every day all day?
Kentucky fan
No for the price they want pay a little more and get ryobi or one of the $100 deals this time every year.

My eyes just glaze over each time I see the next HF advert …
HF is really not doing themselves any favors with their advertisement scheme, week after week, month after month. Everything is deceptive.
Chris I
I was trying to think of what these HF ads and “sale prices” constantly remind me of, and then it hit me just now.
Kohl’s!!!!
Tom D
At least Kohl’s gives you a mini game to play with trying to stack discounts in just the right way.
Will
When will harbor freight have an order online, pick up in store. I’d use them far more often if they did that.
