In this post, I’ll be calling out the Harbor Freight tool deals I find most interesting.
US General 30″ 5-Drawer Mechanics Tool Carts – $190
Hercules 12″ Sliding Miter Saw – $299
Hercules Cordless Power Tool Kits with Free Battery – $98
It’s about time for Harbor Freight to get on the cordless power tool promo bandwagon. A few years they launched kits that couldn’t compete with major tool brands’ offerings, and then they went with a la carte options that didn’t compete with major tool brands’ holiday sales.
I’d still rather buy a Milwaukee M18 or Dewalt 20V Max brushless drill or impact driver kit at $99 than a Hercules at $98, but the extra battery here gives Harbor Freight customers something to think about.

Predator 9500W Super Quiet Generator – $1900
Predator 3500W Super Quiet Generator – $700
What’s the consensus on HF Predator generators? I’m asking for a friend.

US general 72″ Triple Bank Rolling Tool Cabinet – $1500 – available in 8 colors
Daytona 1.5 Ton Aluminum Floor Jack – $110
Pittsburgh 2 Ton Foldable Shop Crane – $330

Central Machinery 20-gallon Parts Washer – $115
Central Machinery 6L Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner – $130

Magnetic Parts Tray – 99 cents
Disposable Shop Towels – $2.29

Harbor Freight is also pushing their credit card. As always, pay attention to the fine print, especially the interest rates.

Some of these deals are live now, such as Harbor Freight’s Hercules and Bauer cordless power tool kit and free battery offers.
They’re also having a clearance sale on select older-generation US General roller cabinets, and an assortment of other products.
Which of these Black Friday deals – if any, are you considering?

HF Predator generators are no worse than any other midrange generator, but they’re certainly not Honda. From what I’ve picked up on jobsites ( 10 yrs as a GC) a Predator generator will run and run, until a 20$ part fails, then a quick fix gets you going again. Champion, Westinghouse, and the like will perform similarly.
The premium you pay for a Honda is for situations that require reliability ( disaster response, bridge construction, cell tower installations…) A generator failure is acceptable when you’re building a mini mall in the city and you can repair in an hour or swap it out for another cheapo. A generator failure is not acceptable when you’re on a mountaintop with no cell coverage, 100+ miles from a hardware store.
I used to run Predators, but have since switched to Champion, but only because they’re more available to me locally. But I’ll rent a Honda for my next mountaintop job.

Seems fair – a co-worker has a number of generators he uses often, since he’s slowly building a home in a remote location without utilities (no electrical power, no natural gas, no water, etc). IIRC, two are HF Predators, and they’ve worked well so far, although the larger Predator is pretty loud.

In a situation where power requirement is absolute like this, I would instead have a backup power source. Heck you can probably buy 2 predators for the price of a Honda and have a backup option in case something does fail. And even a Honda can fail. I have a 3500 Predator inverter that has been helping us power out RV on our of grid property whenever solar has been inadiquate, or when on the road. No problems with it at all other than having to clean the spark arrester when it started to fail to start. But we do have solar and primary power source and another larger wen generator for the property itself.

The US General 30″ 5-Drawer Mechanics Tool Carts is on my short list this year.
Along with all the must have hardcore HF shopper stuff you just can’t walk out without like zip ties, both ammo can’s, microfiber cloths, etc 😉
Mike
I bought one of those 5 drawer carts last year simply because I needed tool storage (I have no garage so it’s not rolling anywhere). It’s a good value, but the instructions are kinda crap. Do a YouTube search on assembly (there’s a couple of good videos) before you start. I assembled mine by myself in my living room LOL.

I have a campsite that we bought with some other folks. Since our utilities are not complete yet, we have to use generators. 3 people up there have predator 3500 generators that seem to work for them…Haven’t heard any complaints.
I have a honda, a generac and a Westinghouse, all inverters. The generac has caused the only trouble and it needed a new ignition module.

I just picked up three U.S General series 2 twenty six inch roller cabinets. Two green & one orange. Very happy with the boxes.
Thanks HFT 👍

I’d say 90% of the food trucks in my area are running on predator generators.

I’m intrigued by the wheel dollies. Something I very rarely have a use for but can conceive of needing

This reminds me…..anyone have a 25% coupon they’re not gonna use?!?

I’ve asked for one at the counter before, sometimes they’ll hand me one!

my tools to go, cheap & reliable, specially when you have shady co-workers that like to “borrow” tools that never return to the storage cart.
Bill
Bought a predator 4000 in 2016 built and powers off grid cabin , served thru several power outages at home , starts with one pull , I would buy another tomorrow with no hesitation . I have changed oil and started monthly when not in use, thats it.
Kevin
Is that $279 for the Badlands Off-road jack a good price, or am I better off waiting for a “special coupon”?
I’ve been half-paying attention, and buying an off-road-targeted jack is a lot cheaper than fixing my driveway so a normal one will roll nicely.
Chris I
I’ve been eyeing it for a while. At the end of the day, NOTHING will ever beat a 25% No Exclusions coupon. Not Black Friday, not Cyber Monday, not a parking lot sale, not a clearance “sale”. I would have bought it no questions if it was 4 Ton and the wheels weren’t plastic. $320 with 25% off is $256; that’s $25 cheaper than BF even. Can do the straight 25% coupon or the ITC 15% off + HFCC 10% first purchase. I did the latter, picked up Daytona 4 Ton + 12 Ton jack stands all for 25% off.
