Here’s a New and Not at all Fake Harbor Freight Icon Tool Box Coupon – Ends 8/31/20

Harbor Freight Icon Tool Cabinet with Stainless Steel Top

Back in May, we wrote about Harbor Icon tool box price reductions and a then-new 20% off Icon storage coupon code. That coupon expired on June 30th, 2020.

It was very strange to see such steep sale prices resulting from both new lower pricing and a coupon code on top of that.

Fast forward a few months, and here’s a recent comment we received from a reader or Harbor Freight fan scouring the web for Icon coupons:

This article, unfortunately, must be completely fake, because Harbor Freight does not currently, and has never, accepted the 20-25% off coupons on any of the U.S General or Icon tool boxes. They are clearly exempted from use on those products in the small print at the bottom of ALL Harbor Freight coupons.

Shame that better verification and vetting of content isn’t done here, as it USED to be done.

Wow.

I assure you all that nothing here is fake and that Harbor Freight was the direct source of the publicly-available information. That previous coupon was pulled from Harbor Freight’s 5/21/2020 email newsletter.

Well, I suppose here is another “fake” Harbor Freight Icon tool storage coupon, good for 20% off the current sticker price. You’ll find more info via the Harbor Freight link below.

Harbor Freight Icon Coupon Fine Print:

Tool truck quality. Unbeatable prices. Experience our new line of ICON tool storage at a Harbor Freight location near you. Save 20% off any ICON storage with coupon code 70359575, now through 8/31/20.

The coupon itself also says you have to use it at Harbor Freight stores. This new Icon tool storage coupon expires 8/31/20.

It is obviously too good to be true.

I can’t believe it, this is the first time the internet lied to me.

It’s almost as if in the past year there has been an unprecedented disruption to the global economy that may or may not change what was once a guarantee.

Also, I’m sure “premium” tool boxes are not exactly flying off shelves right now. You can almost tell what is selling based on what is no longer on sale. The Hercules miter saw stand used to have coupons for $139. I haven’t seen one of them in ages. I also haven’t seen any “free” coupons recently.

Do they ever have these coupons for the US General tool storage line? I keep looking, hoping one will pop up. Haven’t seen one yet, unfortunately.

I don’t think so, I usually only see price-fixed promos on those.

44” US General coupon is out there right now for $439. That’s pretty darn good.

You can find current user submitted coupons at both these sites. This would be more practical information than an entire post on an Icon coupon.

I would suggest a blog post with information that would help HF interested people on where to find ALL current coupons. HF no longer does paper coupon flyers to homes. Monthly catalogs are only electronic on HF website. Little bit of info goes a long way. I am amazed at just how many people (who shop at HF) do not know about the coupon database sites which have been around for quite a few years. I see this in comments regularly around the web. It’s all very easy. You can find coupons on your phone standing in any HF store and save a few bucks. Hopefully more commenters can add to this list as well.

Certainly much nicer than my Milwaukee ~46″W X 23″D X 65″H combo chest of drawers, but I don’t know that it’s two or three times better. That said, quality tools and products do provide their own rewards every time we use them.

I haven’t really paid much attention to the new ICON toolboxes but a couple of weeks ago while shopping in HFT store I glanced at their ICON hand tool lineup and honestly was in shock at the high prices on the wrenches, ratchets and sockets. I assume they are competing for the professional mechanics however I don’t go into McDonalds looking for a Ribeye Steak and if one suddenly appeared on the Menu I wouldn’t order it. HFT should stick to what made them who they are. Nothing wrong with bringing in a higher quality tool and letting the customer decide but ICONs pricing is asking for a miracle.

I feel the ICON boxes range in price from Proto to Lista prices. Both Proto and Lista boxes are amazing. If I were independently wealthy, I would buy a brand new one in a snap.

I have been looking for a local used one for years.

Why would I buy an Icon if I could just buy a Proto or Lista?
