I’ve had a hard time keeping my Dewalt goggles from getting scratched, scored, and dinged. They don’t get damaged from use, they get damaged from putting them down lens-first on hard surfaces, or by the other tools in a work tote.
When I purchased a new pair of goggles to replace the old ones, I also looked for a storage solution that would help me keep them usable for longer than a month. The best option I found was the Caseling hard case for Dewalt safety goggles.
This hard case was designed to fit the Dewalt DPG82-11 and DPG82-21 safety goggles. It measures 8.1″ L x 5″ W x 3.55H and the goggles fit inside with little room to spare. This banana-shaped design wastes less space than the other semi-circular-style cases on the market.

The case has a soft inner lining to protect the goggle lens against scratches and they claim the case is water resistant.

I picked up the Caseling hard case because I didn’t want to to waste space in a tool tote bag with a large goggles case. The banana shape actually fits really well around other tools. Below you can see how it fits right around the handle of the drill in the tote.
I’ve been using the hard case for over a month and it’s kept the goggles pretty scratch free. The few scratches in the goggles are from the week I used the goggles before I bought the case.
In the above picture you can see my old goggles on top and my current goggles on the bottom. It’s really hard to show how badly the old goggles were scratched. When you don the goggles, the difference in vision quality really becomes apparent.

The only real issue I’ve had with the case is that the zippers don’t travel well along the concave (back) side of the case. I think this is just a problem with the way zippers work. It does add a second or so when you zip and unzip the case to make sure the zipper doesn’t stick.
Do you have any other solutions for keeping your goggles or safety glasses free of scratches?

Interesting to see a product that fits the goggles so precisely. It might also be nice if the tool bag makers included a padded/rigid pocket to protect glasses and googles.

Some do. The Klein backpack as a lined exterior pocket with a hard outer shell. The DeWalt goggles don’t really fit well in it though (I own both things and tested).

Nice! I have the same goggles and will be purchasing one of these! I have a hard case for my safety glasses for protecting them in my bucket work bag, but nothing for my Dewalt goggles!
All my pairs of safety glasses hang on magnetic hooks on one side of my tool box in garage to have a place to keep them safe when not in use. There must be a scratch gremlin because every time I leave my safety glasses on the bench or elsewhere they get scratched even if sitting there all by themselves!

How do they work in conjunction with the common N95 N100 dust masks?
I make pick up a set of those and a case, as I can’t stand scratched lenses in the field of view.
I have six of those contouring $10 3M glasses, for indoors and outdoors, and now have the newer model with foam guard, to aid against dust getting behind the lens, … after a recent dust incident, where the dust mask pushed up the glasses away from a tight fit and saw dust bounced right where I did not want it. Finished two days later, after a visit to the doctors, using swimming goggles …
So I know I want/need something better …
An all in one mask combination of lung, eye and ear protection seems a bit overkill ( and expensive )

They don’t work the greatest with any mask I’ve tried. The nose piece comes down too low and want’s to overlap the mask. I have to push them up, but them they don’t make a great seal over my eyes and grinding sparks can get underneath.

Yes follow on comment on do the dewalt goggles work that well and are there others that work as good or better.
Surprised they scratch that easily but I suspect they are cheaper than my normal glasses and their prescription poly carbonate lenses.
I guess I need to look into some new goggles as I don’t often use them but probably should. Will get that case though – great find.
Maybe if the zippers don’t work well a velcor’d set of straps would work better. say 2 one on each side – top to the bottom.

I think they are trying for a tight enough seal on the case so that contaminants can’t get inside the case, embed themselves in the soft walls, and scratch the goggles. I don’t know how well velcro straps would work

Regular looking safety glasses in a regular zipped glasses case for me. Fits inside the same Milwaukee 15″ packout tote as pictured above. Fold flat N95 dust mask for the times when I do need it, keeps the setup a bit more compact.

I have that goggles and the hard case also but my goggles look like 18th century British windows full of scratches because I bought the googles first and after a month the case. I can firmly say to sell this goggles without a hard case in almost nonsense. There are a few brands making these cases for DeWALT goggles, but not DeWALT itself.

I really didn’t mean to throw shade on Dewalt. I guess maybe you could interpret my title like that, but I just meant that if you use your goggles in a rough environment this might be a good idea.
That’s their decision not to ship them with any sort of case, but it would be nice. Their polarized safety glasses come with a microfiber bag to protect them, but maybe that’s because they are more expensive or the polarized coating scratches even easier.

The last time I looked at Dewalt goggles they were made by Radians – and re-branded Dewalt. If the UPC on you goggles packages starts with 674326 – then yours are made by Radians. As I reacall – some of my guys preferred some of the Uvex (now owned by Honeywell) goggles

That’s 2X the number of SKUs though. I don’t want something like this included – I hang my goggles up on a hook.
Also, these goggles are licensed products, made by Radians. Radians doesn’t make cases, and so for them to include a case, the cost would be bumped up a bit. Goggles are typically too large for something like a microfiber pouch.

Maybe it is due to the “ safety “ thing and blister packaging, but any other pair of glasses, prescription or not, I bought came with a case. My big ski goggles have a microfiber pouch one could put a pair of kids shoes in.
I understand the manufacturer’s angle part about extra cost, skus, with or without baggie … vs hey, you scratched those in your tool bag or on your bench? We’ll happily sell you another.

I bought these googles/glasses. Didn’t fit my face- i have a big head lol. If you have a big head, stay away from these!

Soft liquor bags work fine. I’ve also sewed up pouches with scraps of polar fleece or old sleeves. I have croakies on my glasses…they usually get worn around the neck all the time.
