Hilti shared few but interesting details about their new Nuron 22V cordless band saw.
The new Hilti cordless band saw, SB 5-22, is a compact tool with 83 x 83 mm cutting depth (~3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″),
This is all the information, details, and images that Hilti provided us with. If you have any questions, maybe Hilti’s influencer partners, who attended an exclusive event and have reviews up on social media, can help.

- Unique bar handle design for optimized cutting experience
- Best cutting depth to weight ratio within Hilti band saw portfolio
- Keyless blade cover
- 3x more blade lifetime compared to Hilti SB 4-22 system
- Offers spark free cold cut on metal cutting applications
Hilti provided dimensions (18.1″ x 10.2″ x 7.1″) for the saw, which they say has the best cutting depth to weight ratio, but not the weight.
3X longer blade life compared to their 2.5″ saw – I believe it’s this one at Home Depot – seems interesting, although it’s not clear how that’s achieved.

Our pick would be the Milwaukee M18 FUEL brushless compact band saw, paired with a FORGE tabless Li-ion battery. The 2829 also has a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ cutting capacity, and is described as being the fastest cutting with the largest capacity in a lightweight design.
The Hilti could be competitive, but without more details it’s difficult to make any comparisons.
