Home Depot Deal Redux: Dewalt Cordless & Mechanics Tool Set, Dremel 3-Tool Set

Over at Home Depot, they have brought back two deals of the day for another run, today only (12/8/2014). The deals end at 4am 12/9, unless supplies run out sooner.

Dewalt 20V Max Cordless Combo and Mechanics Tool Set Bundle

Buy a Dewalt 20V Max drill and impact driver cordless combo kit, with a 118pc mechanics tool set, for $189. I previously did the math, and $189 is a great deal for what you get. The two other previous bundles are not included in this revived promo.

Dremel 3-Tool Holiday 2014 Bundle

Here, you get a Dremel oscillating tool, Saw-Max cutting tool, and 3000 rotary tool, for $129. As mentioned in the previous deal post, this set is a little light on the accessories, but you get great bang for your buck with the tools.

This would be a great gift kit, but for my own use I would prefer to buy the tools, or better ones, separately when needed. They cost more individually – a lot more – but you also sometimes get better accessory assortments. That doesn’t seem to be the case with the Saw-Max.

Compare: Saw-Max Kit, 3000 Rotary Tool Kit, MM20 Oscillating Tool Kit (Amazon)

Well, do I REALLY need more mechanics tools? no.
    The drill is light duty.
For a home owner and someone looking for an “emergency” tool kit to keep in the trunk, it’s not a bad deal…

Yes, if it were a hammerdrill I might be more tempted.
