If you’re looking to start building a tool kit, expand an existing kit, or restock some staples, The Home Depot has a ton of compelling tool deals for Father’s Day 2021.
They also have quite a few gift ideas, but a deal’s a deal, whether you’re shopping for yourself or the father figures in your life.
I’ll add to this list as I discover new tool deals, and would appreciate a heads-up on any great Home Depot tool deals you might come across.

All of the tools – 3 ratchets, 131 sockets, 10 wrenches, and 86 accessories, are packaged in a convenient tool case.
These sets always tend to sell out fast, so if it’s on your shopping list, don’t delay.

Husky 10pc Combination Wrench Sets
I’m a “build a tool kit from smaller sets” kind of person, and so I’m happy to see that Home Depot also has Husky 10pc combination wrench sets on sale for $20 each.

Flashlight and Worklight Deals
I know there are plenty who might disagree with me, but I always like giving flashlights as gifts. Too many people have come to rely on their $1000+ smartphones as flashlights in situations where a standalone flashlight would work a lot better.
Even if you’re set with gift shopping, maybe you need an upgrade?
Milwaukee Rover Magnetic Floodlight
The Milwaukee Rover magnetic flood light delivers 300 lumens of uniform illumination. It has a pocketable size, strong magnets, and is one of the toughest compact lights I have ever used.
At $20, this is a solid deal that I heartily recommend.
Price: $20
Tip: I’ve grown fed up with alkaline batteries leaking in everything. This light is designed around 1.5V cells and you lose a brightness level if you use 1.2V rechargeables. The Rover comes with 2xAA batteries, and once you wear those down, consider replacing them with Energizer AA lithium cells.
Husky LED Headlamp
I passed along a Husky LED headlamp to my wife’s uncle, and he uses it all the time and still thanks me for. This is a new model, and if it’s anything like its predecessor, it’ll be sure to please.
This headlamp was designed to be the best in class, with performance designed to exceed other major selling headlamps.
It features an IPX8 waterproof rating, bright spot emitter, diffuse side emitters, and what look to be medium-distance secondary emitters next to the center spotlight.
Husky says that the Broad Range Headlamp will not disappoint, and I’m inclined to believe it.
Price: $18
Tip: 3xAAA batteries are included, and once they’re depleted, consider Energizer AAA lithium cells.
Milwaukee LED Flashlight (3xAAA)
If you want a more traditionally-styled flashlight, this Milwaukee 3xAAA light has an aluminum body, 325 lumen max brightness, high and low modes, IP67 dust and waterproof construction 4 meters (~12 feet) of impact resistance, and tailcap switch with on/off and momentary activation modes.
You can also slide the head for beam adjustment, focusing the light for a spotlight beam shape or spreading it for a floodlight.
Price: $30
Dewalt Atomic Laser Distance Measurer
Everyone can benefit from having a laser distance measurer at their disposal. The Dewalt Atomic is a compact laser measurer with built-in rechargeable battery and unbeatable price.
I found it for $20 in-store; check back soon to see if the deal pricing is applied online as well.
Price: $20 (in-store)
Milwaukee FastBack Utility Knife 2-Pack
I wondered if I should mention Milwaukee’s FastBack utility knife 2-pack deal once more, but the display at my local Home Depot has already been picked clean.
If you want to save yourself a trip to the store, Home Depot is offering this price along with FREE SHIPPING.
Price: $15
AND, it’s also part of a “buy 4 or more, get 25% off” promo:
Husky 1/2″ Torque Wrench
Stop thinking “I should really use a torque wrench but…” and just buy one!
Husky tipped me off that their 1/2″ torque wrench is on sale for $50. It operates in the 50 – 250 ft-lbs range.
Price: $50
If you want a 3/8″ torque wrench instead, it’s available at the same $50 deal price. The 3/8″ torque wrench operates in the 20 – 100 ft-lbs range.
Milwaukee M12 Impact Driver Kit
This Milwaukee M12 FUEL brushless impact driver kit is a returning special buy at $99. It delivers 1300 in-lbs of max torque, which is incredible given its compact size. The kit comes with a charger, 2.0Ah battery, and carrying case.
Price: $99

Ryobi Days 2021 Tool Deals
Now’s one of the best times to start or expand a Ryobi 18V cordless power tool set, with plenty of deals on combo kits, bare tools, and special buy bundles.
The highlighted deal, in my opinion, is their “buy a starter kit, get a free tool” promo.
You see, there’s usually a 4.0Ah battery 2-pack deal, priced at $99. Here, you get 2x 4Ah batteries, a charger, AND a free bonus tool.
There are a lot of different cordless power tool and accessories options you could choose from, including a jig saw, cordless fan, blower, angle grinder, 10″ orbital buffer, and more.
Shop Ryobi Deals via Home Depot
Milwaukee M12 Inflator Kit
This Milwaukee M12 cordless inflator special buy is a particularly good deal and a great gift idea as well. Stop topping off your tires at the gas station where you need to guess the pressure level.
You can use this for seasonal tire pressure adjustments, and it’s compact enough to be taken on road trips, just in case.
Price: $99
Husky Ratcheting Tie Down 4-Pack
I wouldn’t think anybody would find tie-down deals exciting, but Husky’s tie-downs bundles always seem to be very popular at my local stores. On the other hand, these are a much better value than the tie-downs I used to buy.
Less than $10 for a 4-pack of 500-lb straps seems to be a very good buy.
Price: $9
Makita 18V 8pc Cordless Combo Kit
This Makita 18V 8pc cordless power tool combo kit, XT801X1, is a returning special buy.
Here’s what you get:
- Drill/driver (XFD10Z)
- Impact driver (XDT11Z)
- Circular saw (6-1/2″, XSS02Z)
- Compact reciprocating saw (XRJ01Z)
- 5″ random orbit sander (XOB01Z)
- 3/8″ sub-compact impact wrench (XWT12ZB)
- Blower (DUB182Z)
- LED flashlight (DML815)
- Rapid charger
- 2x 3.0Ah batteries
- Tool bag
This is a “special buy” configuration, but it’s hard to beat the value.
Price: $399
Ridgid Portable 10″ Table Saw
Ridgid has deal pricing on the R4518NS compact 10″ portable table saw.
I’m not familiar with this model, but it looks to be a good buy, especially with many other brands’ saws around the same price range now featuring smaller 8-1/4″ blade sizes.
Price: $279
Cordless Outdoor Power Tools
Home Depot has a huge cordless outdoor power equipment showing this year, with tons of options and deals.
See Cordless Outdoor Tool Deals
Home Depot’s Milwaukee Tool “Buy More Save More” promo is also worth a look.
Milwaukee Buy More Save More Deal
While not discounted, Home Depot also has the new Dewalt FlexVolt attachment-capable power handle and string trimmer kit available for in-store pickup or ship-to-home.
About half of the cordless outdoor power tools on display were deals and promo bundles, the other half were new “latest and greatest” tool releases.
Husky 11pc 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″ Drive Accessory Set
Here’s another deal from Home Depot’s deals center – a Husky 11pc drive accessory set, with extension bars, size adapters, and universal joints.
To sweeten the deal, it ships for free.
Price: $14.97

Milwaukee M18 SURGE Impact Driver Bundle
There’s a fantastic bundle deal right now – buy an M18 starter kit for $199, featuring a standard charger, 2Ah battery, and 5Ah battery, and you get an M18 Fuel SURGE hydraulic impact driver for free!
Price: $199
To put things in perspective, the 2x 2.0Ah kit is typically priced at $249.

Milwaukee M18 6+2 Cordless Power Tool Kit
If you’re looking for a big cordless power tool combo kit deal, there are quite a few special buys right now.
Buy this Milwaukee M18 6-tool cordless combo kit, and get 2 free bare tools included. So that’s essentially an 8pc cordless combo kit, for $699.
If you’d like a different configuration than what you see here, check out the link, as there are quite a few different combinations and bonus tool options, including 5Ah batteries.
The 6pc tool kit at the heart of the deal, 2696-26, features brushed motor tools and 3Ah batteries.
Personally, I’d seek to spend less for a brushless kit with fewer offerings, but a 6 tool kit with 2 bonus tools or batteries for $700 seems like a good deal if you need broad capabilities.
There aren’t many cordless combo kit deals this season. If this doesn’t exactly align with your needs and wants, you’ll have to wait until late November for more promo options.
Price: $699
Milwaukee M12 Surge Kit w/ Bonus Battery
The Milwaukee M12 Surge compact hydrualic impact driver is a fantastic tool, and like its big M18 brother, it too is on sale as part of a Father’s Day promo.
With this deal, you get a 3 battery kit for $179.
Between the two deals, I’d go with the M18 as being a more compelling value, but the M12 is smaller and lighter. You can’t go wrong with either.
Price: $179
Milwaukee Packout Vacuum Starter Kit Deal
Here’s another deal that’s going to be hard to say no to.
Buy this Milwaukee M18 2x 6.0Ah High Output battery and charger starter kit for $299, get a free M18 Fuel Packout vacuum. Or at least, this is how it’s phrased in stored.
The vacuum typically sells for $199 by itself, and so if it’s been on your shopping list, this is a fantastic price for the vac and High Output battery starter kit.
Price: $299
Milwaukee M18 Fuel Compact 3/8″ Impact Kit Deal
Here’s another deal that’s going to be really hard to pass up.
Milwaukee’s relatively new M18 Fuel compact 3/8″ impact wrench is a fantastic tool, and it’s regularly priced at $219 for the bare tool (2854-20). The regular kit with 2x 5.0Ah batteries is $369.
With this deal, you get the 2x 6.0Ah High Output battery starter kit, charger, and the impact wrench for $299.
Shoppers cleaned out this deal at all 3 Home Depot stores in my area. Right now you can still get this deal online, but supplies might be limited.
The 3/8″ stubby impact can deliver up to 250 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque.
Price: $299
Dewalt Cordless Sander KIT for $99
Here’s an unbeatable deal on a Dewalt cordless sander – buy a 2Ah battery and charger starter kit for $99, and get the 1/4 sheet sander for FREE.
$99 for what is essentially a Dewalt cordless finish sander KIT is a phenomenal deal!
My 3 local Home Depot stores seem to have sold out. Thank you Big Richard for finding it online!
Price: $99
MoogleMan3
Tempted to grab those husky wrenches.
MM
A couple deals I spotted:
Dewalt 20V Max batteries 2×2 ah + 2x 4ah for $159, or a 4ah compact + 6ah for $149.
Matt the Hoople
Yes. Wish I needed more. Since they have a limited life span, I hate to have too many around (is that possible?).
MM
I’d be happy if I could actually buy them, as I happen to need some Dewalt batts.
The former product shows unavailable in any stores even remotely near me, and then says that ship-to-home as well as ship-to-store are both unavailable for some reason. The 2nd product is not available anywhere near me either, but it is available for ship-to-home.
Lowes also has the 4-pack on sale, though their asking price is $179 instead of $159 at HD. My local lowes told me they would price-match HD, but they didn’t have any stock either.
Matt the Hoople
I get a chuckle out of the Ryobi deals. You can get 2×4.0 batteries with charger plus free tool for $99 -or- you can get 2×3.0 batteries with no charger and no tool for $119. Wonder how many of those 3.0 deals they actually sell?
jacob jones
The 3 Ah batteries are typically their Lithium+ HP batteries, while the 4 Ah are just regular ones. The Lithium+ HP are typically intended to work better with brushless tools. YMMV.
Steve
The deals generally aren’t as good as the holiday season ones but that might be a sign of things to come with inflation going on. Usually Father’s Day is like a second holiday season for tools with many of the same or similar deals from the preceeding holiday season. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues in November.
David
I would assume that the major promotions are put together and ordered many months in advance. I would expect that even the Christmas deals will be more limited as they need to be sure of adequate inventory.
When last at Acme about a month ago they were sold out of M18 batteries with tons on back order. They were getting them in, but were not able to keep anything in stock.
Jeremiah Ducate
Slightly off topic, has anyone else had issues with online ordering certain HD deals/special buys. I tried 2 days ago and again today and some special buy or deal items show in my cart as the valid price date being the previous date. When I try to checkout i get an anonymous error message.
Jeremiah Ducate
Incase others see this i just got off the phone and the associate who tried to place my order online had the same issue i did and mentioned they have been having problems making orders recently. From my observation it Seems to be effecting items which have a time window on their deal pricing. I hope their sales numbers suffer. I would be more forgiving if they were honest upfront with a notice online stating they are having issues so people like me dont waste their time .
Stuart
Which tools are you seeing this for?
Might it have been a special buy deal of the day? Those have fixed expiration times. https://toolguyd.com/home-depot-cordless-power-tool-deals-060721/
Frank D
It happens from time to time. Honestly amazing these issues continue on top of customer unfriendly issues where something is in store only, ship to store gets disabled and shipping to home is some $$ local HD delivery … rather than drop ship from the vendor or HD online dept warehouse.
Anyhow.
It sounds like the error where the purchase can’t be completed / deal expired early because the server is misconfigured or in another time zone many hours ahead, …
Koko The Talking Ape
Getting a few more of those Milwaukee flood lights. They’re surprisingly handy. You can clip them to your shirt if you need your hands free. In a blackout, you can just slap one on the fridge, aim it at the ceiling and have enough light to cook by.
And it’s surprising how much the light temperature matters. Most LED lights are that irritating blue-white, while Milwaukee’s lights are warmer, with better color rendition (called TRUEVIEW.)
Flotsam
wanted some extra Ryobi batteries so i got that deal. I didn’t have a cordless grinder and while not brushless it is fine
Doc
Thanks, Koko. I wasn’t even remotely interested in the floodlights until your post. You sold them.
Ryan
There appears to be a pretty good deal on a 3-tool Ridgid 18v combo kit (drill, 5 in sander, 7 1/4 in circular saw):
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18V-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-3-Tool-Combo-Kit-with-2-2-0-Ah-Lithium-Ion-Batteries-Charger-and-Bag-R92163SBN/314004007
Hopefully it’s not an error, a $500 kit for about $160 might make me grab it for a nice backup set.
I’m a new commenter, hopefully the link comes through.
Rick
I was in Home Depot today and saw two people buying the Husky 230pc Mechanics Tool Set.
David
This set of impact rated 1/4″ hex to socket adapters is a decent deal also
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Impact-Socket-Adapter-Set-9-Piece-HISKDRAPT9PC/315048468
Tim B.
That M18 Milwaukee promo you mentioned with the Packout Vacuum is tempting… but honestly, the one that’s got me much more tempted is also available with the same $299 battery starter + tool…. That’s the M18 Rocket Light. While I’ve been drooling over both of those, I feel like I’d get much more use over time of the light. And from a sheer dollar value standpoint, that’s the greatest savings vs. retail.
Clay
Laser measurer is back up to $29 now.
BayareaBob
Is the 3/8 Impact about the same power as a impact driver with a 3/8 driver?
Stuart
This impact is rated at up to 250 ft-lbs max breakaway torque and 250 ft-lbs fastening torque. That’s 3,000 in-lbs. A high-performance 1/4″ hex impact driver, such as Milwaukee’s current M18 Fuel model, delivers 2,000 in-lbs of max torque (~167 ft-lbs).
In other words, the 3/8″ impact wrench is quite a bit more powerful. Impact driver torque is often limited due to the 1/4″ hex accessories they’re designed to work with.
BayareaBob
Thanks for the help brotha!
Stuart
You’re welcome, glad to help!
