As mentioned in the title, I visited my closest Home Depot and Lowe’s stores, to see what sold out and what remained.
I typically do this throughout the holiday season, but the day after Black Friday tends to provide additional insights.
It wasn’t unexpected that the best doorbuster tool deals already sold out, but I did run into some surprises.

Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hackzall Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit – $149
Milwaukee M12 FUEL Hatchet Cordless Chainsaw Kit – $149
Home Depot sold through all of their batteries and Milwaukee Hackzall cordless saw kits, although according to the website there are still a couple available for delivery or in-store pickup.
I didn’t know there was a doorbuster deal on the Milwaukee cordless chainsaw kit.
Milwaukee M18 175W Top-Off Power Adapter with 3Ah Battery – $99
The low power M18 AC adapter and battery bundle was sold out in store, but according to Home Depot’s website there are still a couple available for online ordering.

Dewalt 20V Max XR Brushless Drill Kit (2 batteries) – $129
Dewalt 20V Max 4Ah Battery 2-Pack – $99

Considering that the new model kit is $269, this seemed like a fantastic deal. They still had one, and other stores near me also have a couple.
The Dewalt power tool battery sold out. Yesterday’s doorbuster deal at Lowe’s was an even better bargain – hopefully shoppers aimed for that one first.

Milwaukee M12 Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit with 6Ah Batteries – $149
Milwaukee 11-in-1 Multi-Bit Screwdriver 2-Pack – $12.88
Milwaukee 16ft Compact Tape Measure 2-Pack – $12.88
The M12 brushless drill and impact driver combo kit was gone, but I’m seeing some inventory available online.
I believe the tape measure and multi-bit screwdriver 2-pack deals are new in-store-only doorbuster deals, and they seem like decent values.

Ryobi 4V Cordless Screwdriver Kit – $19.88
Ryobi 18V Cordless Circular Saw Kit – $49.88
Ryobi 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw Kit – $49.88
Ryobi 18V Cordless Stick Vacuum (Tool-Only) – $99
Ryobi 18V Cordless Drill Kit – $34.88
I was surprised to see that all of the Ryobi cordless screwdrivers were sold through, but maybe the low price makes them great gift ideas. The other deals were still there, and there seems to be plenty of inventory available for online ordering.
This store had the Ryobi cordless vac priced higher than its doorbuster price, which could explain why it seems they didn’t sell any.

Milwaukee 11pc SAE Wrench Set with Tray – $50
Milwaukee 11pc Metric Wrench Set with Tray – $50

I was curious as to how well the Milwaukee wrench sets were selling. I don’t *need* them but I was considering picking up a set, and still might.
It seems Home Depot sold out or disabled online ordering for the metric set, and there are only 3 available for shipping at my zip.
Yikes, according to the website, this one set might be only Milwaukee metric wrench set within reasonable driving distance. Now I’m wondering if I should have bought it on the spot.

Dewalt Compact Tape Measure 2-Pack – $19.88
I don’t need more tape measures, but I had just bought one of these for over $20 a few weeks before I knew about the sale, which compels me to buy more.

Kobalt Magnetic Parts Tray 3-Pack – $11.98
These Kobalt pop-up parts trays seem to be sold out everywhere near me except for a couple that can be delivered for a small fee. This seems like a “buy it now while you can” type of tool gift center deal.

Klein Folding Hex Key Sets – $19.98
Klein 3pc Electrical Pliers Set – $59.98
I can understand the Klein Tools pliers set selling reasonably well, but the folding hex key set bundle? That’s part of the point of these post-Black Friday walkthroughs.

Dewalt Bit holder Set – $15.98
The Milwaukee set has also been selling well at Home Depot. I’m not the least bit surprised about either.

Metabo HPT Miter Saw – $99 – compare it at Amazon
They had an empty shelf at my Lowe’s store, but it seems there are still plenty of the Metabo HPT miter saw available online.

Kobalt Speed Release Compact Utility Knife – $8.98
I was waiting to make a joke about this utility knife might have sold quicker if it had a “blackout” label like the Klein, but it seems to be selling well.
There are more ongoing tool deals, but I was only interested in seeing which displays were bare or close to it.
This experience also reminded me that I don’t enjoy holiday shopping crowds. Cars were blocking the main entrance at Lowe’s, and two people were trying to cram multiple Little Giant Ladders multi-position ladders into one of them.

Ran into Lowe’s Friday to grab a mini toolbox, wanted the 3 drawer base too but they were out of the color I wanted. Handled a lot of the hand tools and the only one that I thought about was the Kobalt heavy duty shears. Seemed like decent quality. Ultimately I left without them.
I was struck by the lack of customers at 9am, not even as busy as a regular Saturday👀.

That mirrors my “normal” non special sales day observations at nearly any Lowe’s compared to my similar visits to HD. Hmmm.

I ran to Lowes on Friday and Saturday and HD on Sunday. My local Lowes was much busier then normal I have been refinishing my basement and visting both often and Lowes had a lot more then normal amount of customers both Friday and Saturday. In particular Saturday seemed nuts, lots of people in the decoration/seasonal aisles and lots of people in appliances. HD on Sunday was a bit busier then usual; but not as crazy as Lowes. This is a bit odd but not really HD is always busy near me and Lowes tend to be quite a bit less. On Saturday I saw a manager in Lowes I knew form years ago (a relatives neighbor) she said they were having a really good weekend, mostly driven off sales of seasonal stuff appliances and paint, which she said in general are the strongest segments for the store. And I think that explains alot about why Lowes seems less busy but still around, they do a much higher business in Seasonal and Appliances then HD.
Now those shears from Lowes are fantastic. A while back they were on sale for $6.99 (pre tariffs probably some time in 2024) . I bought a pair loved them and went back and bought another pair a day later. They cut things like flashing and drywall corners like nothing, so now I have a general set and another I keep in my leather working kits as I love them for trimming belts etc. I have thought about buying another but I just don’t really need 3.

After seeing reporting that the Home Depot doorbuster deals went live online Thanksgiving day I ordered a pair of those 6ah M12 batteries that night. At first it said they were going to come the next day (BF) from my local store and there was a $2.99 delivery charge. The order got pushed to another local store and then the date got pushed a day. So I was starting to wonder if the order would be cancled. But sure enough they showed up at my door around 7AM Saturday morning. I was pretty happy about how smooth and easy it was!

Thanks for sharing your experience!
Doorbuster deals typically open up on Thanksgiving Day, except when they don’t, making it difficult to share info or reliable advise.
HD has been really good about fulfilling online orders this year, and the $2.99 delivery fee seemed consistent for most of the doorbuster items.

When i was in Lowes on Saturday, they dropped the price of those Dewalt saw blades to $7.98 I watched a contractor ask if that price was accurate and the associate said yes and he grabbed half a dozen.
