Home Depot Tool Deals of the Day 1-30-23 Dewalt Milwaukee Ridgid Ryobi

Home Depot has a new round of tool deals today only (1/30/2023), featuring Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ridgid, and Ryobi cordless power tools, hand tools, and accessories.

Many of these deals look to be priced to move, making the promo seem like an end-of-season sale.

Here are some of the deals that especially caught my attention:

Milwaukee Metric Socket Set with Rail 49-66-7007

Milwaukee Shockwave 3/8″ Metric Socket Set

This impact-rated 14pc set features metric sockets from 7 to 21mm.

Buy it at Home Depot | $34.97
Milwaukee M18 Cordless Air Compressor and Power Tool Bundles at Home Depot

Milwaukee M18 Cordless Air Compressor and Tool Bundles

There are a couple of different cordless air compressor bundles.

  • M18 Air Compressor + M12 Cut-Off Tool – $389
  • M18 Air Compressor + M18 Rear-Handle Circular Saw & Sawzall Reciprocating Saw – $589
  • M18 Air Compressor + M18 Narrow Crown Stapler – $459
  • M18 Air Compressor + M12 Right Angle Die Grinder – $369
  • M18 Air Compressor + M18 Rear-Handle Circular Saw – $439

The cordless air compressor typically sells for $379 by itself.

I find it ironic that the air compressor is being bundled with a cordless nailer and die grinder, tools that were traditionally air-powered.

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Pin Nailer with 2Ah Battery

Milwaukee M12 Pin Nailer + 2Ah Battery

It’s worth reminding everyone that standard M18 chargers have built-in M12 battery charging ports. If you’ve already bought into the M18 line, M12 tool + battery deals can be good buys.

Buy it at Home Depot | $199
Milwaukee M12 High Output 2-5 Batteries 4-Pack at Home Depot 2023

Milwaukee M12 High Output 2.5Ah Battery 4-Pack

Milwaukee’s newest and most powerful compact M12 battery has been priced at $79 each. At the time of this posting, the 2-pack is $149. This 4-pack is $185, which comes down to $46.25 each.

This is a fantastic deal for anyone looking to upgrade their M12 batteries.

Unfortunately, there are no bundle deals on the new High Output XC 5Ah battery right now. Home Depot still has the 2.5Ah and 5Ah bundle pack at $149, which is a good deal if you want just one of each,

Ryobi USB Lithium Tool Kit Assortment

Ryobi USB Lithium Tool Kit

This tool kit gives you Ryobi’s USB-rechargeable power cutter, rotary tool, power carver, and glue pen, plus a charging cable and 2x batteries.

Buy it at Home Depot | $99
Dewalt ToughSystem Tool Box plus Trays Bundle at Home Depot 2023

Dewalt ToughSystem Tool Box + 3 Trays

This is a good deal if you’ve already bought in the ToughSystem lineup, or even if you just need one large and durable tool box with insertable trays.

I bought a couple of the ToughSystem trays, and they’re more durable than I thought. Don’t think that you can only use the trays in a Dewalt ToughSystem tool box – I don’t.

Buy it at Home Depot | $89.97
Milwaukee M18 Heavy Duty and Mid-Torque Impact Wrenches

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Heavy Duty and Mid-Torque Impact Wrenches

The 1/2″ impact (2767-20) is $279 to $329 by itself right now, and the 3/8″ impact (2960-20) is regularly $249.

This bundle answers the question as to whether you should get a high-torque 1/2″ impact wrench or 3/8″ mid-torque impact.

If you want something a bit more compact, some of the other promos feature M12 stubby impact wrenches.

Buy it at Home Depot | $309

Keep in mind that the deals end at 3am ET 1/31/23, unless supplies sell out sooner.

I noticed some new milwaukee tools on acme this morning. One was a 2in m12 planer, and the other was a 2000 lumen inspectors light running on their red lithium. I paid $85 for the 1000 lumen and love it. This one was priced $99.

The Ryobi glue “pen” was a surprised. Now I want an M12 glue gun/pen. I believe “hot glue” has become more relevant in construction, especially interior works, due to its “instant hold” ability. Helps keep/hold things in place before fasteners go in.

I would love a hot glue gun in any of the Milwaukee, DeWalt or Makita 12V lineups. Helps a ton making templates as well for tile and farmhouse sinks.

I’m kind of surprised Surebonder doesn’t have one. They sell an 18v glue gun with adapters for Makita/DeWalt/Milwaukee, and are Ryobi compatible by default. I wonder if the limits of 12v make full-size glue guns impractical. Even the 18V Ryobi one takes awhile to heat up.

Amazon and HD sell one under the Dremel brand that might be a rebadge or rework of one that Bosch has sold in Europe for years.

          https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-HSGP-01-Rechargeable-Preheating-Precision/dp/B09QW4GSKP

My wife has the Bosch – bought in 2019. I don’t think she uses it much as I never see it plugged in (Micro USB) to charge its 3.6V LiIon battery

This glue pen was described as “coming soon” on Ryobi’s site, and is not available for order by itself from Home Depot. I was going to order the USB Rotary Tool soon, and this sale caused me to order the sale. I’m hoping HD fulfills the order. I (really my wife) wants this glue stick bad for crafting. The rest is a bonus.

We used high-flow 3M hot melt guns for templating countertops. That task has all but gone the way of the dodo. Now what was a fussy, time-consuming task has been replace by lasers, computers and software for all but the trickiest layouts. I’m not sure that our cabinet installers are using the guns for these days.

I would like a glue gun with a spraying function in Milwaukee.

Pneumatic glue guns that can spray hot glue are used in various industrial applications.

One of the advantages of no VOCs. No harmful smells, no need to wear a respirator or risk developing lung cancer later, etc.

I hate spraying solvent based glues like Weldwood or 3M Super 77.

Sprayable hot glue without the need for a compressor would be a game changer.

I actually caved and purchased a very expensive sprayable hot glue gun from Infinity Bond and a small compressor to run it.

That Infinity Bond gun looks interesting and a lot cheaper than what 3M sells some of their high-volume guns for:

I have the diminutive Bosch GHO12V-08N which has a 56mm blade. It along with their mini router (GKF12V-25N) were bought for some of the inlay work that I do. I’m not sure that either one are really suited for much else in the way of regular carpentry.

I thought it might have been and was curious if my order would be cancelled. It wasn’t and hasn’t been. The two 6Ah batteries delivered yesterday and the nailer and recip are in transit according to tracking. I must have been on of the lucky one.

I’ve been a Makita 18v user except for the M18 quik-lok system, but now I don’t have any reason not to purchase one or the other now that I have plenty over batteries for each thanks to this screaming deal.

But I remember a deal before the holiday where the Ratchet kit, alone was $99 and was sold out in about 9 seconds…..fro either Acme or Toolnut. So, I’m gonna wait since I don’t need the extra fluff. What I need to do is stop looking at this site everyday! Taking me to the bank!!!ha

For Home Depot and Lowe’s, most of the time I check the deals first thing in the morning, running through a couple of bookmarks one by one.

I weigh the value of a post before proceeding, which is why I don’t post about every promo or deal of the day event.

During holiday seasons and sometimes in between, I check at 3am ET when they go live.

As I have affiliate arrangements with Home Depot and Lowe’s, they often send me promo alerts, but rarely if ever on deals of the day. Those will be more about seasonal promo events, rarely including or focusing on tools.

For smaller independent retailers we have affiliate or friendly relationships with, I will sometimes receive email alerts. Other times I don’t, and discover the deals when checking manually.

It sounds tedious, but it’s part of my routine, where I also check for new messages and comments in the moderation queue from overnight.

So basically, I check Home Depot’s deal page daily, and their weekly pro deals once or twice weekly. I’ll check Lowe’s less, but semi-regularly as it takes just a few more seconds.

I’ll catch other promos via consumer newsletter or quick heads-up message.
