Spax Screws at Home Depot CloseupStill a bit shocked at havingĀ spotted Channellock tools at Walmart, a new surprised has rocked me world. Home Depot now carries Spax screws, and at reasonable prices!

After finding nothing but easily-sheared way-overpriced fasteners at home improvement stores, I started buying my wood screws online a while back. One of my favorite screws has been Spax, since they (usually) requite no pilot-hole and hold up quite well.

Spax Screw and Fastener Display At Home Depot

If you haven’t tried ’em out yet, you should definitely consider it. And since they’re now available at Home Depot at online-prices, I’m a pretty happy camper.

Spax screws, at least all the ones I found, are Made in the USA or Germany.

That’s funny, I just found a whole endcap of Spax on clearance at my local HD Friday. The prices were one step above “found free on the side of the road. ” Maybe they were resetting a display?

It could be that the display I saw had been up for a while and that I only first noticed it now. But there was quite a large selection, and none of the boxes were dirty or dusty, suggesting they may have only recently been put out there.

I wish I could find these at “free on the side of the road” clearance prices! Perhaps individual stores can decide whether to carry them or not? I can’t imagine that they would clearance that much merchandise just to reset a display.

It could also be that, like myself, many people got into the habit of avoiding home centers for everything except for immediate or emergency fastener needs.

The local HD has had that exact display (literally, it looks like your picture came from the store here) for ~2 years now. Got to swing by there today to pick up some mineral spirits, and am definitely going to check and see if the closeout prices have hit locally.

Wow, maybe I’m really late to notice, then. But, at this particular Home Depot, the fasteners and hand tools share opposite sides of the same aisle, so I should/would have seen it sooner.

I’d be interested to hear about whether they’re closed out at your local store too.

it’s odd 1 home depot that I go to has had spax screws for almost 2 years but many others in my area still dont carry them, don’t know how HD decides to do their purchasing.

whatever price they are make sure to stop by your local USPS office and pick up a movers kit. There are 10% off coupons for either HD or Lowes and if it’s Lowes HD will take it as a competitor macth
