I’ve been a little reluctant to try Instagram, but I’ve been liking it so far.
I’m super pissed off that I can’t use ToolGuyd on Instagram, and Instagram’s “help” people have been particularly unhelpful. They have a “first come first use” policy about usernames.

So for the time being, I’m going by ToolMag, because I couldn’t think of anything better.
Update: We have since retrieved the ToolGuyd name!
https://www.instagram.com/toolguyd/
I’ve been using it to share random tools I’m using, and things like that. I’m not following too many people yet, but that’ll change as I spend more time on there.
You could also Follow Ben!

Here are some great Instagramers to follow:
ToolGuyd (That’s us! Yes, redundant, but hopefully drives the point home)
Electronsmith (That’s Ben, he’s got some great posts and tool review previews)
If you’ve got a tool or projected-focused account, share your name in comments!
Oh, and Ben had a good idea, that using the tag #toolsample might be a good way to differentiate tool review samples from personally owned tools. I’ll give it a try, but haven’t decided if I’ll make that a personal policy or not. I don’t really intend to make recommendations on Instagram, but it seems like it could be helpful to label a tool as a review sample.
Here are some of my posts thus far, while I get used to the platform:
Pete
Ive found i wasted too much time looking at other peoples pictures wishing i was doing something so i deleted it off my phone and started doing projects.
Brian
I just started my tool/work account on instagram “Bmack_tia” if anyone cares to follow.
Brian
Stewart, can you post an instagram pic with just your logo? We can share it to get the word out.
Austin

Interesting note: the email blast sent out earlier today has empty fields in the place of the Instagram photos. This isn’t a matter of the email not allowing any photos to pass, since the “cover photo” of the tool bench did display.
Stuart
Sorry! The site automatically renders Instagram posts from links. That doesn’t carry over to email or RSS.
I’ve also been meaning to pull the plug on the Google Feedburner emails, and it seems that’s what you’ve been using since the other email service I’ve used for the past few years only serves headlines, a single image, and short front-page intro snippets, but I’ve also been saying that for a long time now.

Follow the tag #discovermetabo today and tomorrow (9.20.16 – 9.21.16).

Love me my Preppin’ Weapons. I do wish that they were about a 1/4″-1/2″ shorter though. If they were, they’d get a bit better grip on the paper.
As for Instagram, nah, don’t mess with it.
Travis
Why no mess with it? If anything, IG is the best social media site to be on. You choose what to follow, the things you love most. Your IG feed of photos with snippets of events/people’s lives will only be things you get enjoyment from.
If I like tools, and I do, then I will follow Toolpig, for example. Now, I will see tool tips, new tools first in the field, tool events, work done with tools, tips, ect. All things I like to see which equates to more smiling by me and a better attitude. Thanks tools. 🙂
