I bought the Irwin spade bit set a few months ago and have used them daily in commercial finish carpentry installs since. They’ve been great and have made nice clean holes.

I believe that Irwin invented this tool (flat spade bit) – way back when they were an independent company.

I’ve had good luck with the Speedbor spade bits, as well as the Irwin Marples chisels. I think I may have to browse around and see if there is anything else I could use.
