Jackson Premium MaxView Face Shield

Over at Amazon, they have a deal of the day on Jackson face shields, as part of a sale on “healthy gadgets, masks, and supplies.”

I can’t speak much about these products in the context of COVID or public health safety, but they’re great for the workshop.

This Jackson Safety  MaxView premium face shield is similar to the Uvex Bionic, in that it provides a huge unobstructed view. It’s said to meet and exceed ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3 standards.

Jackson Face Shield

They also have a basic Jackson Safety Anthem face shield is a more basic face shield, with adjustable ratcheting suspension system.

It’s made in the USA and is compliant with ANSI Z87. 1-2010 protection standards.

Jackson Half Face Shield

Lastly, the Jackson Safety premium goggle and detachable face shield combo is also on sale.

I tried this style before, wanting eye and face impact protection in a more compact package that better allows for over-the-head earmuffs for hearing protection. It looks goofy, but works quite well.

The goggles are spacious as well, designed to fit over prescription eyewear.

The combo is said to meet or exceed ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3 standards.

Deal Price: $13.73

To be fair, they likely didn’t remove the protective film

This must have happened a couple of times, they added this to the title: “Remove Protective Film Before Use.”

Indeed. There appears to be MULTIPLE people in the reviews that didn’t remove the film.

Faceshields are important PPE – especially for tasks like grinding

At the much pricier end of the spectrum is this air-circulating face shield from Trend (English woodworking company). Rockler sometimes puts it on sale:

It is sort of half way between a face shield and a NIOSH approved full face respiator/hood. We had a paint spray booth in our cabinet shop – spayed a lot of different catalyzed and non-catalyzed finishes – so the painters suited up with 3M gear. I sort of recall that those kits were well over $1000 each.

I have a UVEX version that I installed a shade 5 for when I’m using my plasma CNC so I can wear eye glasses at the computer. Getting an extra face shield for lathe work or grinding at $20 is great here. Thanks!

Have gone without something like this for too long and $20 is impossible not to jump on – thank you!

That’s a very good price. I think the Uvex antifog for $1.10 more than the non-antifog Jackson is a no brainier. I like my bionic for using a wood lathe, but (on my head at least) I find I cannot adjust it so I can wear it with hearing protection. Have other people encountered this and figured out a solution?

Thanks for this, I have been trying to be more safety conscious and the antifog look like the ticket.
