While browsing for something over at Lowes.com, I noticed Kobalt’s 26 piece palm ratchet set. From the looks of it, this set is intended to be highly portable, and includes a small selection of sockets and insert bits. Best of all, the set is priced at $15.

We are quite eager to give Kobalt’s palm ratchet a try, but we suspect that it will only be sold as part of the 26 piece set. It appears that this set is not yet available in stores, but as soon as we can find one, we’ll purchase one for evaluation.

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Got one today. nice feel, buuuuut, no place to store the ratchet handle. Every other kobalt “set” has a spot for everything in the set inside the case. At 4.97 I guess some genius at kobalt figured, “well what can they bicker about”. I guess they didn’t think about how that five bucks feel when you loose the key to the whole gimmic, the retchet.
