Leatherman Black Friday 2022 Customization Deal

Leatherman has a great Black Friday deal going on right now, where you save 50% off customizations.

I have been using Leatherman tools for many years now, and have had countless great experiences with their products. Let’s talk about their Black Friday promo, and some gift ideas.

Thank you to Leatherman for sponsoring this deal/gift guide!

I personalized Leatherman multi-tools once – as groomsmen gifts when I got married. It was a bit of a hassle to find a place that could do it, but the results were decent. I do have one regret – not getting one for myself.

Leatherman’s new promo makes it extremely tempting for me to finally right that long-term wrong.

They’re got the know-how to do it right, and there are so many options.

Here’s a look at some of the types of customizations the Leatherman Custom Shop can do:

This is the SURGE, with snowflake patterns decorating the handles.

Leatherman Custom Shop Skeletool Multi-Tool

Here’s the SKELETOOL – one of my favorite minimalist multi-tools of all-time, with a personalized and decorated blade.

Leatherman Custom Shop Wave Multi-Tool

The Customization Shop can etch the plain-finish or black-coated versions. This one is the WAVE+.

Leatherman Custom Shop Signal Multi-Tool

The SIGNAL is an extremely popular more outdoor-focused multi-tool.

Leatherman Custom Shop Raptor Shears

You can even customize the RAPTOR folding shears.

Leatherman Gift Guide – 5 Tools to Give or Get

Leatherman Micra Multi-Tool in Blue

I’m sold on the Leatherman Micra, a keychain-sized multi-tool, and will be ordering one as a gift to myself this season. The only question is about which color option I should select, and whether I’ll get it customized too.

Leatherman Skeletool Multi-Tool Color Options

I love my Skeletool – it’s compact, minimalist, and has held up very well over the years. It has been the perfect EDC for times when all I need is a knife, pliers, and screwdriver.

Here’s a tough question – if I had to buy a new one, would I go for colored scales, customization, or both? If you don’t care for options, the plain-finish model is a classic.

Leatherman Wave Plus and Curl Multi-Tools

I love my Wave, and the Wave+ is even better, with replaceable cutter blades.

If you want a slightly more compact and affordable tool, the Curl joined the lineup last year.

Leatherman Raptor Rescue in Blue

Is the Raptor Rescue overbuilt for my needs? Absolutely, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a superb folding and portable cutting shear with bonus tools and functions built on.

If I ever lose my older black-handled version, I’d replace it in a heartbeat. I’m not sure I would personalize it, but I would absolutely choose one of the many bright new colors available.

Colors aren’t just about aesthetics; I have found that brighter colors can help me more quickly find a multi-tool (or flashlight) on a cluttered work surface.

Leatherman P4 Multi-Tool

I finally bought myself a Leatherman Free P4 multi-tool earlier this year, and my other multi-tools are jealous that I’m choosing it more and more over them.

This is a 21-function tool, and its magnetic opening and closing mechanisms.

Leatherman says this is their most advanced multipurpose tool ever made. It might not look like it at the surface, but after a few minutes in your hand, you’ll agree.

What’s your favorite Leatherman multi-tool or accessory? Is there anything on your wishlist, or are you doing the giving this year?

i had 2 silver handle/black tool skeletools engraved with my son’s names for christmas a couple years ago. their factory shop did it. still look a and work great, they do good work.

before i made the order i looked over at my wife and asked if i got one too? she agreed. i like mine just as well. and don’t have the years of remorse like you do.

i was pretty harsh on the skeletool when it first came out. i though it was too much money for too few tools. i have since come to realize it has everything i need and nothing i don’t. pliers, knife blade. phillips and flat bits, a pocket clip and bottle opener/carabiner.

I love my micra. I mostly use it for the tiny scissors.

The scissors are surprisingly good for a tool of that size. In my opinion it serves the same sort of roles as the “Classic SD” swiss army knife–small size, unobtrusive, minimal legal hassles due to the small blade–but is a lot more practical since the scissors are so much better.

Exactly. Just don’t lose one (or more) at the TSA’s behest.

    Stuart –

I am not a tradesman, nor a craftsman. I am four years retired now (and so have more time to do all the things “with my hands” that I’ve wanted to as a ‘white collar worker’ during my 24/7/365 professional life. But I wanted to take some time out during your busiest (if not second busiest? Black Friday “ON” thanksgiving vs Black Friday in preparation for Christmas?) to thank you for all the benefits of your website (without puffing up your head by listing them all). You’ve not only done the hard work of searching all the best holiday season deals (good), you’ve taught me a great deal about tools, choosing them, you helped identify for someone who, not a professional tradesperson, would take a lifetime (and a fortune) to build up a repository of knowledge of which brands, which tools, and why, should I buy to get the most bang for the buck, the most durable use, which ‘inexpensive’ tool is ok for what (better), but whether you’ve wanted to or not, you [and a number of your commenters, I should say!] have, by virtue of the back and forth TAUGHT an old dog new valuable tricks without being a child mentee at the side of a wizened mentor.

Thank You for all you do, and Happy Thanksgiving. Make sure to take time out to get stuffed on turkey with your kin.

If you have had your eye on these, this is the last of them – according to Leatherman, there will be no more – this is the time to buy!

I stopped following that seller because their shipping rates were so high their deals were never worth it. They also don’t send newsletters (at least it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen one); out of sight, out of mind.

I also haven’t found a new retailer I feel confident enough to recommend yet.
