Four Leatherman Juice multi-tools relaunched today, as Leatherman had promised – the CS4 and the XE6, which are both available in two colors options.
Leatherman has not announced how many Juice tools are available, only that this is the last time they will be sold. The company has said that this is the final batch of Juice multi-tools.

Should You Buy it?
This is Leatherman’s final batch of Juice multi-tools. Should you buy one?

Yes, and no.
Did you look for the Juice recently, find it out of stock everywhere, and kick yourself for not buying one sooner? Maybe you should buy one now.
Did you know about the Juice and decide it wasn’t a good fit for your needs, or maybe a less than ideal value for the money? Perhaps pass on it.
If you’re learning about the Juice for the first time, you might be feeling a sense of urgency, since this could be a “now or never” opportunity.
The Juice is a great tool. I bought a scissors-focused model 11 years ago, and still carry it on occasion. It’s a compact pocket-friendly tool that offers a lot of functionality while taking up little real estate in your pocket, bag, or kit.
Leatherman Juice CS4 vs XE6

The CS4 is a compact tool, but the XE4 gives you a couple of extra tools at no added cost.
From what I can tell, compared to the CS4, the Juice XE4 has:
- Second knife blade (serrated)
- Wood/metal file (one side)
- Diamond-coated file (opposite side)
Basically, you get one extra outside-accessible tool on each side of the XE6 compared to the CS4, which should only increase its thickness by a small amount.
For whatever reason, Leatherman only provides full specs for the XE6 and not the CS4:
CS4 Dimensions & Weight
- 3.25″ closed length
- Weighs 5.6 oz
XE6 Dimensions & Weight
- 5.25″ open length
- 3.25″ closed length
- 1.08″ width
- 0.65″ thickness
- Weighs 6.9 oz
Lastly, yes, it’s a bit frustrating that both outgoing models have corkscrews that some users might never need or want. I would suggest complaining loudly enough until Leatherman hears you, but it’s a moot point since this seems to be the end for the Juice line.
Ken
I like these a lot and have an older XE6 but they never did quite offer the configuration I wanted in an of the juice models. I don’t think the saw or knife is particularly desirable but the scissors on these are great. I’d use the corkscrew on mine but it feels like its going to break the scales every time and somehow feels worse than the swiss army knife corkscrews.
Red Astrachan
Why not continue/evolve one of their most popular designs?
Stuart
I am guessing that these were *not* among their most popular designs.

A multitool without a saw is an absolute no go for me but I am around trees all the time. I always carry a pocket knife which is why I like the knifeless Rebar because I almost never use the knife on a multitool. I like the Juice configuration for the size compared to other Leatherman multitools aside from the Knifeless Rebar and for the scissors. I wish the regular Rebar offered a scissors instead of the lanyard loop and redundant serrated knife. Because the CS4 is being discounted, I’m getting a Victorinox Handyman for my girlfriend for hiking and because she needs her wine hence the corkscrew. Too bad the “Handyman” doesn’t have a Phillips screwdriver but the Champ is too big and has too many things not needed. Victorinox needs to ditch the parcel hook and maybe something else in the Handyman for a Phillips to make it a proper handyman.
John
Language is a funny thing. For the longest time, if a company dropped a product, that meant they stopped selling it.

Aren’t both sets of scissors outside accessible?
Stuart
Hmm. You are absolutely right! Thank you!
Joseph
My first leatherman was a juice cs4 I got from grandma for Christmas. I have a sentimental attachment to the model so of course I bought one, maybe ill give it to my son when he joins scouts. Otherwise there are probably better options for the price. I personally love the corkscrew and wish they included it as an option on more models.
Mackenzie
I probably would have bought one of these years ago if I hadn’t confused it with the smaller PS4 model. I thought the juice was a line of teeny tools like the squirt and never considered them. I fell for the same trap with the style PS making me think the skeletool was uselessly small.
Dick warner
I had 2 of your mini tool sets, dont remember what you called them, different tools and one opened up into pliers and the other one were scisseres—( maybe squirt?)these are the ones i want back—also, do you still make the buck bowie knives?
Stuart
If you’ve got two of my mini tool sets, please give them back! =)
Joking aside, Leatherman still makes the Squirt PS4. I believe they discontinued the Squirt scissors-focused tool a long time ago, as well as the Style CS. There’s only just the Micra now.
I don’t believe Leatherman ever made Buck Bowie knives.

Having never held one of these Juice models, can anyone confirm whether the parts are stone tumbled to round over the hard edges? That seems to be one of the subtle hallmarks of the the swiss army lineup, and it ticks an oversized box for me.
Joe
I doubt they’re tumbled or anything like that because I much prefer the Victorinox touch and finish. But there’s an important distinction between PERCEIVED quality and ACTUAL quality, and I feel that both brands are equivalent when it comes to durability and reliability.
HOWEVER, there is no comparison between the legit pliers of the Juice XE6 and the novelty pliers in the Swiss Champ or handyman. I actually prefer the plier-less Victorinox options over their pliered versions because those pliers are a total joke.
Leatherman matched the fit-and-finish of Victorinox, they would be the overwhelming winner. But even after being a long time Victorinox user, I’ve fully adopted Leatherman.
Vermonster
On the old Juices, the corkscrew was the same dimensional as Victorinox’s. And there is a number of tools that fit in that.
John
Received my Juice XE6 today. Sadly no where the quality of the Wave+ I have. Could not get the three slotted screwdrivers to open (simply too tight riveting), required a separate tool to release them. The smaller these multitools get, the more challenging they are to open each tool. Used some Super Lube and putting each tool through motion in hopes of loosening them up. The Wave+ is just smoother by a wide margin with better surface finish.
J. Newell
Yes, very tight – all tools, including the pliers. But what a great piece of work. I have had Leatherman tools since the very early 1990s but never had any of the Juice models. I didn’t appreciate how complex these tools are. The springs alone are enough to give you fits. (I wonder how often they break?). In any case, I’m very glad to have a chance to buy one of each at a very attractive price.
