Leatherman Super Tool 300 Super Deal

Leatherman Super Tool 300 with Tools Fanned out

Over at Home Depot (online only), the Leatherman Super Tool 300 is on sale for $40. Type in coupon code THDDAD5 at checkout to lower the price another $5. Bonus – free shipping.

The Super Tool 300 is a very strong and robust tool, but it’s not for everyone. It’s large and the tools can only be deployed when the pliers are open. You can then close the pliers if you want a grip on the handles, but that can be time consuming.

Buy Now(via Home Depot)

(Sale is good today-only, 6/8/12.)

Regular price is ~$52 on Amazon.

Is it worth buying? Maybe, maybe not. I have two Super Tool 300s in my personal collection – one in rotation and one for car or office use. They’re not my favorite multi-tools, but they have their uses.

Maybe you can help me with this information, I wanted to get one of these for one of my buddies, as he broken his last set. However being that these apparently break easily, I am wondering if they are still made in USA anymore? He has gone through 3 of these within a very small time period.

They should still be made in the USA.

What is he doing that he’s breaking them so easily?

It’s already out of stock online. It’s only 2:30pm here, you guys must be on the east coast? I’ve had a hard time getting one day deals online from a bunch of sites.

I was hoping that it would pop back on sale, but it hasn’t. It’s back in stock, so I assume it never sold out but that Home Depot placed a maximum unit cap on the sale.

Once a deal gets posted via deal-oriented sites and forums, it’s usually all over very quickly. Some folks buy up as many units for resale as they can, or even just a few because others tell them it’s a good deal.

It looks like the post was up for as long as 5 hours until the Super Tool sold out.

Stuart: I have absolutely no clue. I know he cuts a great deal of metal, so maybe that is it. I heard a rumor that all Leatherman products were going overseas as of late, so I just wanted to make sure.

I have heard from some enthusiasts that some of Leatherman’s components may be produced overseas.

But the latest tools are still said to be USA-made.
