Reminder: Lee Valley Free Shipping on $40+ Ends Today (8/30/2016)

Veritas Scratch Awls

Over at Lee Valley, they have a free shipping promo that ends today. Spend $40+ and get free ground shipping to the contiguous USA or Canada. If you live elsewhere, you’ll still get discounted shipping.

This post is as much a reminder to myself as it is to you. There are a couple of things I need to pick up – some larger sized brad point drill bits, maybe one of their new T-track accessories, and maybe one of the new thingamabobs they might have recently come out with.

There was something else I wanted to buy. I’m sure it’ll come to me, or maybe it’s on my wishlist that I hadn’t had the time to check yet.

Although, I probably could have already placed my order if I did that instead of writing this reminder post. *shrug* But I’m sure some of you, like myself, have made it a habit to order less essential tools and accessories from Lee Valley only during their free shipping promos.

I also need some cabinet hardware, but that’s something I don’t want to be rushed into buying. Maybe I’ll save that kind of stuff for the next free shipping promo.

Shop Now(via Lee Valley)

In case you missed it in the title, this promo ends today, 8/30/2016. Fine Print here.

Lee Valley Tools has the best customer service i have ever come across in a business. They will go far out of their way to ensure you are satisfied, and stand behind the products they supply. I’ve been buying stuff from them for the past seven years. Highly recommend giving them a visit.

I agree with this, but there is a caveat: they don’t let you know when something you have ordered is delayed. I bought a low angle jack plane, and the expected ship date was pushed back 3 or 4 times. The customer service folks I spoke to were always nice, but they didn’t have a solution, as their back end system doesn’t generate any alerts from stocking/shipping delays.

Great products, mostly great service, but be aware if you order anything that is back-ordered, it could take a lot longer than indicated.

      Agreed.

Regarding backorder delays: on the bright side, they do a great job of keeping things in stock.
