Lee Valley sent out an email newsletter earlier today, highlighting an advance notice about an upcoming Veritas Bonus Event sales promotion. Spend over $100 in Veritas products, get 15% back in Lee Valley Gift cards.
Promo period: March 26th thru 28th, 2015.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind:
- Only valid on in-stock products.
-
Purchase amounts are calculated before tax and shipping.
-
Excludes Veritas workbenches and premium block planes (NX60).
The gift card will be manually added to the order after it has been processed, and will be included with your shipment.
Seems like a great deal, especially for folks on the fence about whether they should splurge for a fancy new Veritas plane, saw, chisel, sharpening jig, or other woodworking tools and accessories.

I know what you’re thinking – but if I buy all of the Veritas tools on my wishlist now, what will I spend the free bonus gift card on? Well, good thing that Lee Valley has a very big product catalog full of non-Veritas tools. Or you could use the gift card on any Veritas tools that you’re not quite eager to spend full price on.

With the Rockler promo you have to use the card during a certain time frame, so make sure you don’t let it expire. Not a very long time frame, either.

ohhh, this is going to be painful…. I have 3 Veritas planes on my wishlist, and a few other Veritas items…
BikerDad
Well, I got one of the planes off my wish list and onto the UPS truck, along with some sharpening goodies and two sketch pads…
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get the other two planes (along with 2 from Lie-Nielsen) at Handworks 2015.
You are going to Handworks, right? You’ll see some SERIOUS woodworking hand tool porn there… 80%+ of the premium woodworking hand tool makers in North America will be there, as well as some from assorted other continents. Unfortunately, it looks, at this time, like there’s not going to be much in the way of the Japanese way of working wood there.

Love My Veritas tools I have gotten from Lee Valley. Best damn hand saw I ever had the pleasure of using (minus the truly vintage stuff I got to use at classes in NC with Roy Underhill – his saws practically cut the dovetails themselves! BTW he has classes and upstairs from his little school is a store of all vintage tools. A MUST SEE.
I have nothing to do with the school or tool store, just took a class or two when I lived in NC. Roy was even better in person than on TV. His teaching was great, fun, informative and worth every penny. If you are a wood worker – do yourself a favor and spend a weekend or a week with him or his other teachers. Money well spent
