Lenox, now under Stanley Black & Decker ownership, is coming out with new jig saw blades.
There are new Power Blast blades, for wood and metal-cutting applications, and curved Power Arc blades for medium-duty metal-cutting applications. That’s all we know right now. We couldn’t make it to their factory tour, and they haven’t sent any press materials yet.

Oh, and there’s a giveaway where you can request a free sample!
You can choose between a Power Blast clean softwood-cutting blade, or a Power Arc curved metal-cutting blade. They say that the offer is open from September 18th, 2018, thru October 1st, 2019, while supplies last.
I requested a Power Blast blade. I’m a big fan of Bosch jigsaw blade, but I’m always up for trying something new.

Thank you Jerry for the heads-up!

* Technically, Lenox is calling this a giveaway, but it reads like a free sample offer to me.
So that we have something to discuss in comments, is it jigsaw, or jig saw?

Thanks Stuart. Just signed up for the wood blade.
As for the spelling I have never really thought about it. Bosch refers to it in two words; jig saw. So that is how I will reference. I mean, they did invent the things.
Eric
Just a heads up it lets you select to get one of each.

At one time some folks called the tool a “sabre saw”

In fact I was taught in my youth that they were “Sabre” Saws and only came to Jig Saw sometime later in life! My father was a genuine Yankee Craftsman who after building our second house commenced to building most of the furniture inside it! Just like a circular saw was a “Skil” saw and the adjustable wrench was a “Crescent” wrench!

My dad still calls it a sabre saw and I still have to take a half second to figure out what he’s talking about every time he does. Thanks for the link…I had always assumed it was a genericized copyright similar to skilsaw or sawzall. I also remember learning on his old “sabre” saw, a 70s era Craftsman with a knob for turning the blade in tight curves. Maybe not the best tool, but it was a handy feature I sometimes wish my Bosch had!

There is one bit of fine print …
“ Offer period: September 18, 2018 through October 1, 2019, while supplies last. “
And for mailing address no ZIP code was requested.
Stuart
Yes, 2019, so a year from now.
No zip? That could be a problem.
pete
I also had no zip code show up and was curious as well…. we’ll see! lol i sent it to my coworkers house.
Frank D
Doh … 2019 … LOL / facepalm

Unfortunately I think your article was a day late.
Offer period: September 18, 2018 through October 1, 2019, while supplies last.
Stuart
The article was posted on October 2nd, 2018. October 1st, 2019 is next year.

Next year in EST?
I’m three hours behind.

Over here for a while Lenox had a premium reputation stemming initially from titanium coated box cutter blades and then the first decent handle for reciprocating blades and then they disappeared. They surface again from time to time but these days are seen as a Starrett me too.

Lenox sawzall blades are super awesome, at least for metal cutting. I use the heck of out of those. I tried their arced sawzall blades for metal but it didn’t seem any more effective that a straight blade. I was cutting heavy wall pipe though, not exactly a fair test for any sawzall blade.

Lenox form is not working for me, nothing happens after I click “submit” 🙁
Stuart
Is anyone else having issues? I heard from them today, and they fixed the zip code thing.
Frank D
So, what should those do, who hit submit without a zip code box?
Stuart
I don’t know. It might not hurt to submit it again?
Michael
I’m having the same dead submit button issue.
Daniel Mitchell
Yeah, nothing happens when I click submit. My browser doesn’t even attempt to load anything.
Mike Hollenback
same problem here with the inactive submit button
Wade Bantz
Same here……nothing happens when I click submit

I haven’t received my blades yet?. It’s been almost 2 weeks
DRT
It’s November 19th, and no Lenox blade has appeared in my mailbox. I checked the Lenox website, and the event which was supposed to run until October 1 2019, is now closed. So, either the end date wasn’t 2019 after all, or they only had a few blades to give away and we missed it. I guess I will be sticking with Bosch.
MikeN
My blade arrived 12/6.
DRT
Mine just arrived also.
Jeremiah
Just got mine yesterday. I believe i selected just one but they sent one of each, no complaints. Ive never used a jigsaw often (at least so far in life) but look forward to giving them a shot. My general experience with lennox has been good quality tools and blades, and good value for their price point.
I really do feel the future of toothed blades is carbide, other than initial cost does carbide have any downsides?
KeithInKC
I received these blades around december 15th. Will see how they perform on the next project.
I did mess up and not use my “spam” email address with the offer and was inundated with all kinds of email offers which had to be unsubscribed or spam tagged for a few weeks after the offer.

I’d forgotten all about this offer.
Received my samples yesterday. Took over three months.
I also have been the recipient of tons of spam email recently – don’t know if the two are connected.
