I looked over at my phone to see the time, and what do I find? An Amazon alert that something from my wishlist was on sale.

This Dewalt DGC530 USB charging tool backpack is on sale as part of a Lightning Deal, for $53.62. You save a few dollars off the regular price of $60.

The cool thing about this new Dewalt tool backpack is that you can pop in a 20V Max battery pack, and there’s a built in 2-port USB charger, which can recharge your tablet, phone, or USB-chargeable device or instrument.

This was on my “this is a cool took I want to post about” list, which is why it was in my Amazon wishlist. While I still want to write a full post about it, the time sensitive nature of this deal means I don’t have much time to think things over, look at competitive offerings, and other things I do when writing up a full preview.

What I can say is that I think it’s a good enough deal for me to stop what I was doing to get the quick deal post out.

The deal ends 5pm ET today, 11/21/2016, unless supplies run out sooner.

It features a 17-pocket tool wall, for hand tool storage, 3 pouches sized for common electronic devices, and 3 outer pouches.

If this bag doesn’t really do it for you, keep in mind that you can buy a USB power adapter to turn any Dewalt 20V Max battery into a device charger. The USB charger is $30 and eligible for Amazon’s $25 off $100+ promo.

This is totally off subject in terms of the backpack but relatable insofar as an Amazon deal and was looking for a solid opinion.

I can get the Makita xdt12z for $188 via the Amazon $25 off deal….. Is the hype around this thing worth $188 in your opinion/s? Or are they going to replace it next year with one that will make coffee for me?

I have a number of tool bags and I use Makita so this is a much better deal – Makita ADP05 LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Power Source, 18V, 2 USB high power, for ~$20.
The ADP06 is the one for 12V.
Met, I would say the Makita xdt12z is a good tool – brushless, 4 speeds.
I like my 4 mode BTP140, new version is XPT03, for certain tasks like when I need to pre-drill screw holes then drive the screws and would rather switch hex bits rather than have 2 tools. The BTP140 isn’t Yellow Star so I can only use max 3 Ah batteries. 4 mode is: Impact driver, Hammer Drill, Drill, Screwdriver

I’ve often wondered about that tool. As I have yet to come across any one who has bought it.

Does the newer one take 4, 5 and 6ah?
